1. Introduction
I prefer working with others rather than alone as it helps me to learn many valuable lessons from my co-workers. On the other hand, working with other people motivates and energizes me to do better at work. Working with others helps me to understand the meaning of team efforts and teamwork and it helps me to make myself adaptable to change. I like being given responsibilities as it helps me to make my work pattern more organized and make myself more disciplined. Completing certain responsibilities helps me gain the trust of my superiors and it also helps me to gain more confidence. Doing good things makes me feel good and strong and helps me believe that I am doing the best I can. I like to explore different kinds of works rather than sticking with something familiar (Heaphy et al. 2018). I think sticking with something familiar narrows down the scope for learning for an individual.
Exploring different work helps in gaining more knowledge that contributes immensely to the personal development of a person. As per the view of Bakker et al. (2020), the more one explores the more mature that individual becomes. Earning money at the same time doing something meaningful is the most important aspect for me rather than choosing one. I believe an individual needs to work in the field that they enjoy working in and that way work becomes an adventure and the money becomes a bonus. In addition, working in a field is an individual has an immense interest in or knowledge in helps in quick learning and ensures the quality of work. I want to work in an organization where I feel I have the best chance for growth (Wood et al. 2016). It does not necessarily have to be a small or large organization at the end of the day personal and professional growth matters to me.

2.1. Groups and Teams
My course on introduction to people at work and class works has helped me to a large extent to develop my knowledge about teamwork and coordination. In the class several tasks were assigned to the students that included work in groups and communication with the group members. We were taught the methods of communication that are able to deliver best results in terms of information and relationship with colleagues. I have developed a good skill set regarding my capability of working in teams and completing the work within time. I am capable of doing my part of the task within the deadline and coordinate with my team members for their parts.
A manager of a company can hire and consider me as an efficient employee as time management and teamwork are two strengths of an employee. Moreover, my capability of working within a different cultural view will be important for the company to put me in a team. Overall work efficiency of the company can be increased if an employee is able to submit tasks within a given deadline (Kitchen, 2020). This will be also helpful for the manager in terms of distributing the workload within the team members. A trustworthy relationship can be developed within the employee and manager as the employee can catch up with the organizational objectives over its personal interests.

An approach of management called Administrative theory by Henri Fayol has been taught in the class regarding group and teamwork. This theory talks about a few stages of management including foreseeing the plan for organizational management. Moreover, implementation of the plan in the organization via commanding the employees and coordinating the activities are essential for a company to run smoothly. Supervising all the processes for completion on time and implementation in an efficient way is a key point of this theory (Collins et al. 2020). My knowledge of this theory can help me to understand the decision making processes of the company I will be employed in.
2.2. Motivation
My teachers and classmates have motivated me enough and that helped to develop my personality and increase confidence level. In addition, motivation has been taught with help of various theories and models such as Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. Knowledge about motivation will be helpful for me in terms of staying motivated at the workplace and motivating others as well. Motivational mindset will be helpful in terms of finishing tasks within time and performance rate will be consistent. In addition, the course on introduction to people at work will be surely helpful in my future employment and personality development.
A company manager will be able to recruit me as an employee as motivation at the workplace is a key point to success. A motivated employee can be essential for the company in terms of performance increment and profit gain. Motivational skill set of an employee can be helpful to keep the whole team motivated during work (Eketu, 2020). Workplace culture can be maintained at the same time by following theories and models of motivation in the company. Moreover, the company will be able to portray a transparent and efficient image in front of the customers and the investors.

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is one of the theories of motivation that defines basic needs of an individual at the workplace in the best way. Abraham Maslow defined the needs from low to high standards and in terms of lowest level, he termed basic physiological needs. Food, water, clothes and shelter are defined to fulfill the basic needs of an individual and that person can be motivated once it has all these substances (Buchanan, and Huczynski, 2019). On the other hand, safety from physical and economical issues, healthy social relationships are able to motivate a person. In addition, chances for personal development and opportunities for gaining respect and recognition are needed to motivate an individual.
2.3. Employee Engagement
Engagement of employees to the processes of an organization is important in terms of employee satisfaction. We are taught about needs of employee engagement during the course on introduction to people at work. Various tasks and events were designed during the course to engage every student of the class and everyone was allowed to express their opinion. Participation of students in the task delivered a lesson about respecting the views of others and coordinating with each other despite different opinions. These same lessons are important for the employees of a company in terms of surviving in the company and achieving promotions.
In the case of my employment, knowledge about employee engagement will play a necessary role as every company wants to avoid conflicts within the employees. This skill set of an employee will be important for understanding the overall goal of the organization easily. Decision making procedures of the company will require employee engagement and therefore, ideas about the same develop a healthy relationship within the company and employees (Onu et al. 2020).

Employee engagement theory of William Kahn was the main focus of the course on introduction to employees at work regarding engagement of the employees. According to Kahn, employee engagement refers to the process of harnessing a full self of an employee at the workplace. Three psychological factors were identified by him and they are nominally meaningfulness, safety and availability (Brooks, 2009). In terms of meaningfulness, a company has to make sure that the employee finds its job to be meaningful that will influence them to engage with full potential. The company has to make the employees feel safe while at work and convince them that no negative situation will occur for their engagement. In addition, the employee has to build up a mental setup of their availability to the workplace. A better knowledge about this theory will enable me to be engaged with my work efficiently.
2.4. Management and Hierarchy
I am taught about the needs of managing a hierarchy at the workplace and it will be helpful in my future employment. In terms of benefits of management of hierarchy, it is said that the leaders are able to decide on scientifically proven theories instead of judgemental opinions. Various events were organised within the course of introduction to people at work that included result submission and reporting to various stages of the hierarchy. It has also developed a mindset of obeying rules and regulations of an organization and sticking to the workplace culture.
My future employment will be supported by the skills of management and hierarchy as a company depends on these systems for harmonic rhythm. Overall productivity of the company increases by following a suitable theory of management in the organization. Moreover, decision making processes of the company become simplified as various leaders and managers are involved in the process (Chandwaskar, 2019). In terms of collaboration, managing a hierarchy is largely beneficial as it involves communication with the employees as well as with people in higher positions.

Scientific theory of management was the main focus of the course on introduction to people at work. This theory is coined by Frederick Taylor and according to this theory; performance of the employees at the workplace has to be studied scientifically. The workplace should not include any judgemental theories of the leader and no partiality to any team member should be entertained (Rollinson, 2008). Hierarchy of the company has to evaluate the best capabilities of an employee and distribute tasks on the basis of those skills. According to Taylor, pushing the employees towards hard work would result in a workplace that is efficient. However, he suggested in his theory that simplified tasks will be a more suitable option to achieve a productive workplace. Ideas about this theory will help my employment process in terms of better understanding the company hierarchy and objectives.
2.5. Learning and Development
Learning and development programs that were included in the course on introduction to the people at work helped me to develop my personality in a positive way. Skills of communication and presentation have increased after attending the events and tasks of the course. Consistency of work and attentiveness to the studies has developed as a result of learning and development programs. My cooperative behaviour with other classmates have improved and my English speaking skills have also developed after completion of this course.
My future employment will be easy for this skill set regarding learning and development. A better presentation skill of an employee is essential for a company in terms of convincing the investors and customers at the same time. English speaking skills and cooperative behaviour are helpful for surviving in the company (Ik and Azeez, 2020).

Classical Conditioning theory of learning is taught during the course of introduction to the people at work. According to this theory, an individual faces ease of learning if the topic is taught multiple times (Fincham and Rhodes, 2005). Moreover, practice is the key to learning any topic as stated in this theory of learning. In addition, a better theory of learning at the workplace is helpful for a better development of personality.
Conclusion
It can be concluded from this study that five important modules on people at work have been discussed. The modules that have been discussed in this study are groups and teams, motivation, rewards and benefits, employee engagement, employee wellbeing, fairness discrimination, management and hierarchy, learning and development, etc. It can also be concluded that though this assignment my conception regarding people at work has been more vivid and clear. This study can help me in the future to consider all the aspects discussed in this study for well-being at my work.
I have missed continuous learning opportunities at my previous workplace several times. By analyzing this study and its every factor in depth I have acknowledged the crucial factors I should have accepted. I enjoy my work and its ambiance much more now instead of being afraid of my superiors. I have successfully gained a lot of confidence and knowledge in my workplace in comparison to the time of my joining (Bakker et al. 2020). I am well aware that I am just at the beginning of my career and have more potential to bring improvement in my existing skills. Besides that, I can develop new knowledge and skills with a continuation of my job.
