7ECON014W Research Methods Assignment Sample 2024
A. Introduction
Background
The development of the rural region of Cauca in Colombia is significant because the country is suffering from poverty which helps in understanding the root cause of the disintegration of the economy of the country. Moreover, even after the development of the Regional Indigenous Council of Cauca (CRIC) the problems faced by the people of Cauca may be addressed by making it visible and also by making sure to socialise it.
The transformation and understanding about the purpose and outcome of the differences which may have been analysed well which may be helped in understanding about the differences of the region (Nemogá, 2018). The structural understanding about the development of Cauca in case of rural region to urbanisation by understanding deprivation and also the ways the deprivation may be mitigated.
Rationale
The research has to be conducted on understanding about the rural region and the conditions of the deprivation of the resources of the people of the Cauca for the development of the country. Furthermore, the country too has to make sure that the socially developed CRIC may help in the popular participation to help in promoting the popular mobilisation.
The problems of Cauca may be a complex situation which helps in the progress of the conflict which may be caused by the transformation in the economic disparities by accepting various kinds of challenges by the CRIC for improving the problems of Cauca (Clase, 2021).
The study about the people of Cauca is essential as the people of the region are less represented in various aspects be it political or social and with the help of CRIC the people are able to put the grievances and problems in front of others properly (Culturalsurvival.org. 2022).
Context
The plan of doing the research with the help of understanding about the problems as faced by the people of Cauca and the reasons for which the development is stagnant in the country and the way the transformation may be possible. Additionally, the country’s development is poor and even the process of progress of urbanisation is quite complex which even more affects the rural development and has affected the cities development of the country in a smooth manner.
The development and the influence of the power and the political scenario which may create a barrier in the development of the structural understandings which may lead to deprivation and even may affect the performance of the country. The country’s organisational structure too posed a great problem for the country as it created developmental complexity of the people from the rural to urban by providing cultural and performance management of the country and the leaders which the CRIC is trying to mitigated in various ways.
Research gap
The understanding about the issues in the path of development and even the value of the research about the social and economic development of the region Cauca helps in knowing about the organisational formation with the help of the formation of CRIC.
The Cauca’s rural to urban development and the problems the country may face by effectively building the CRIC by making the structural conditions quite well with the help of various defence and military ways as the stagnant of the region is due to the government repression which is extremely effective for the people (Culturalsurvival.org. 2022).
B. Literature review
Discussion about the development of Cauca with the help of CRIC
The problem as faced by Cauca is mainly of poverty because of which the rural population faces major problems which too may help in the understanding about determining the lives of the people in the area. Moreover, the country has seen several programmes emerging within the country about rural development and even understanding about the ways the lying conditions of the people may be improved.
The country faced the problem of poverty which poses a high effect upon the development of the economic growth of the country which makes the people of the country to stay under the rural conditions and increases the complexity of urbanisation. The understanding about the management of technology and the implementation of the various kinds of strategies which may help in understanding the dynamics and complexities of the minority population of a particular place (Schroeder and González, 2019).
The distribution of incomes may be based on the unequal distribution of resources among the population and by understanding about the incomes of the country’s management quite well. The political and ideological developments of the region may be developed with the help of CRIC for maintaining the people with the help of the ELN (National Liberation Army), FARC (Colombian Revolutionary Armed Forces) which help the region to fight any kinds of problems (Culturalsurvival.org. 2022).
The inclusion of cultural and ethnic identity of the population with strict law and regulation to prevent further agitation is quite helpful to address the emergent issue of the region which is crucial for development of the region with modern artefacts.
The high degree of engagement among the regional elite and local leaders in the CRIC is allowed to explain the ongoing practises where the regional population are deprived off to access the local resources and modernization program to eliminate the mishaps in the territory with political discourse.
The revitalization of culture for the indigenous people and commitment towards the political goal is necessary for a peaceful coexistence of ethnic minorities into the mainstream population with the option of upliftment of cultural identity in a practical way (Culturalsurvival.org. 2022).
Evaluation about the problems faced by Cauca for the development in the region
The management of the resources by the authority of the country may help the country to understand and even helps in mitigating and understanding about the strategies which Cauca may take in understanding about the deprivations which the population may face in the case of resources. The development of CRIC which was developed in 1971 for the protection of the indigenous, tribal and other rural communities of Cauca and also for protecting the fundamental rights and also helps in promoting the interests of the indigenous people (ONIC. 2022).
The indigenous people make sure that the people indulge in all kinds of struggle which may help the people to reach the authorities and even make the authorities understand about the problems and even about the demands of the people. Therefore, with the development of the CRIC the understanding about the organisational diversity management this helps in maintaining the ethnic minorities of the country.
The unequal distribution of income of the rural people depending upon the various cultural reforms with the emphasis majorly on the effect of poverty upon the people with the help of effective measures as taken up by the authorities of the country.
The indigenous rural movement in the Cauca region is the outcome of long time expropriation, exploitation and military repression where the majority of resources are in the hands of mainstream elites depriving the rights of survival to the indigenous population.
The armed conflict is the resistance offered by the local population for further encroachment of the mainstream population by means of military might through guerrilla warfare. More than that, the Government’s approach to deliver justice and peace for the community is meagre which draws sharp reaction from the population several times through unarmed and armed protests for education and health care (Google Books. 2022).
Analysis about the problems as faced and experienced about the country’s resources
The indigenous people of Cauca face a lot of problems and always have to struggle for the human rights which may have been provided to the people naturally. A peace agreement has been signed between the Government of Colombia and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) in 2016 to look after the problems of indigenous populations.
The indigenous people even trained each other to face conflicts with the authority of the country by taking care of the internal conflict management and even in managing the illegal practises within the territory (Iwgia.org 2022). The development of CRIC helps in understanding about strengthening the fight by defending the multiculturalism of Colombia by defending the right of life, dignity and the territory of the country.
The indigenous people are trying to reach the global communities which may be able to help the population of the people with the help of effective use of communication networks which is helping in the development of the social life of the people. The priorities of the indigenous people may be protected by providing the protective understanding and even with the help of traditional medicinal supplies and also the lifestyle of the people which helps the people to survive more in such harsh conditions.
Discussion about the social development of the people
The understanding and management about the conditions of the deprivations of the resources of the indigenous people of the country Cauca makes the social development of the country quite impossible. Moreover, with the help of social cognitive theory the experiences of the indigenous people and the healthy behaviours and environmental factors which influence the population of the country may be well understood by the authorities of the country.
The indigenous and the minority community of the Cauca region makes sure that the understanding about the economic conditions of the country leads the population to manage the working and even the living conditions of the people. The native communities have to understand the regional and national understandings of the indigenous people which may be helped with the help of effective management of strategies of the country.
The social and political power relationships of the authorities may help maintain an understanding about the socio-economic understanding and even the political power relationships of the country (van Sluijs et al., 2019). The management of the CRIC which may help in understanding about the cultural development of the country with the help of understanding about the perspectives of the people which may be understood with the help of social cognitive theory by making sure that the demands and well-being of the indigenous people has to be understood in a better way.
C. Research objectives and Research questions
Research objectives
The objectives of the research as follows:
- To understand about the development of Cauca with the help of CRIC
- To explore about the problems faced by Cauca in the course of development in the region with the help of social cognitive theory
- To monitor the performance of the CRIC which may help in understanding the management of the problems for the future reference about the conditions of the deprivation of the people from the country’s resources
Research questions
The research questions as follows:
- What are the ways through which the problems faced by the people of Cauca may be mitigated?
- How the management of the performance of the CRIC will may be done which may help in mitigating the problems faced by the people of Cauca?
- What are the conditions with the help of which the deprivations of the popular participation helped in understanding about the strategies of CRIC?
Aims
The aim of the research is to understand the social development of the rural region by understanding the process of urbanisation model with the help of the participation of the authorities of the country especially CRIC in order to understand the problems as faced and the ways to mitigate it to improve the conditions of the people.
D. Research design
Research philosophy
The philosophy is the most important part of the research where the positivism research philosophy will be the best suited for the research topic to define a scientific way of investigation and conclude the topic. It will be based on the objective way to understand the social world pertaining from personal values and biases to continue independently for establishing the research subject more critically (Park et al., 2020)
. It will depend on the hypothetico deductive model through focusing on the explanation and prediction to build hypotheses based upon the understandings and then test those hypotheses upon the finding after data collection.
Research approach
According to the Saunders research onion, the deductive research approach will be the appropriate approach for the research which associates with the scientific investigation to deduct the research result in a comprehensive way. It generally used to draw conclusions from the true premises for the research subject to understand the underlying patterns more closely and relate the findings with the research.
The deductive research approach will involve the testing of an existing theory from the broad assumptions to critically find the idea in an objective way for the research subject in an authentic way to interpret the data and information for increasing credibility of the research subject (Jones et al., 2021).
Research strategy
Research strategy is an integral part of the research where this research will undertake the case study as the research strategy to systematically carry out the research with consistency and cooperation. It usually gave direction to the researcher’s thought process to conduct the research in a creative way through the generalisation of different steps and inclusion of systematic outcome in the research topic.
Case studies of the existing theories available in the books, articles, journals from Google scholars, trusted websites and government databases are providing the detailed strategy for the research topic to make it reliable and authentic to the reader’s perspectives (Oliva, 2019).
Research choice
The research choice is a useful step of the research process which elaborates the information regarding data collection process for the research process to acknowledge better about the research conduction.
Mono method needs to be undertaken at the choice of the research for a detailed undertaking of the research process that is usually associated with only a secondary method for the research to fulfil its objective through collection and analysis of the data. It is also measured as an observational method to conduct the research process for a more brief and pacific research result (Ababneh, 2020).
Sampling
The research procedure will be done on secondary data collection where no respondents will be taken into consideration for the research purposes. The sampling of the research will be done as a case study where it usually refers to the books, journals, articles from Google scholar, newspaper reports, trusted websites and government databases to collect the data on the research topic.
Ethical consideration
This research process has maintained equality and diversity in the internal and external environment for conducting the research in a ethical way. The due credit will be given to the authenticated author and writers for the valuable information taken for the research conduction along with utilisation of collected data will be given due diligence to maintain the data privacy and only be used for research purposes only. Data will be securely stored to prevent any kind of misuse, theft or corruption to guarantee that the data and information will be the backbone of the research process.
D. Data collection and Data Analysis
Data collection
The data collection is the pivotal part of the research process where it will be involved with a secondary data collection method to verify and utilise the existing theory to increase the efficiency of the research subject. The secondary data collection will be developed to understand the research problem consecutively and act according to the strategy of the research to arrive at a solution for the problems to formulate the appropriate research design.
The secondary data source will be the books of the reputed authors in the related topics, journals, articles in the Google scholar, trusted websites and government databases to coordinate the research subject with research from the learned author and reporter to inspect the social development in Cauca regions of Columbia.
The poverty in the Cauca regions and the national approaches, social development and participation are quite informed and poverty elimination will be well addressed in existing research and reports to satisfy the researcher’s zeal to conduct the research.
Data analysis
Thematic data analysis will be the useful procedure for the research process to understand and utilise the existing theory for establishing the search result more confidently through formulating themes based on the research topic. The data analysis will be done through comprehensive reading and listening to a large amount of collected data to benefit the research subject with accuracy and subjectivity.
The thematic data analysis will be based upon finding out the underlying patterns more clearly with a close relationship to the research subject who indicates statistical calculation of the variables to accommodate in the research topic more inclusively. It usually corresponds to identify, analyse and report repeated patterns in the data set to interpret those data and construct the times to describe the research subject more clearly to the readers.
E. Conclusion and Limitations
Conclusion
From the above discussions it has been concluded that the elimination of poverty in the region of Cauca in Colombia needs the greater engagement of all the stakeholders to integrate with the national program with respect to protection of the rights of indigenous and tribal population.
The inclusion of convenient peace talk through participation of state leaders and leaders of rebel groups is eventually helping to maximise the resources utilisation and integration of national policy to minimise the discrimination and overcome the complexities with regular outcome for peaceful living standard for the population with social integration.
Limitations
This research process may be limited to answer the government’s efforts on the ground to cooperate with the indigenous and tribal people to protect the rights in an ethical way to include them in the poverty elimination programme. It may be noted that the limitations included the detailed addressing of possible solutions and cooperation from the international bodies to eliminate poverty in the Cauca region of Colombia.
The magnitude of human rights violation and armed conflict with current discourses and adaptability of the people for the initiatives, innovation and modern technology from this region might be irrelevant in this research process. People’s preference onwards mainstream society and development goals are quite vague in the research with lack of data on population under poverty level and subsequent data on people’s development index.
Contingencyplan
The research process needs to accommodate the voices of indigenous people and accounts of oppression and exploitation for years to understand the dilemma of the local population and the choice of armed rebellion in a brief note. It needs to verify the international efforts of government approaches more closely from the account of armed forces and make it viable for the sustenance of the common people in this region.
