It will support to analyse my skills related to problem-solving attitude during the time of internship. For this purpose, I have discussed my overall experience and management of accounts. At the same time, I have elaborated the literature review, stage of problem solving, checklist framework and reflection over strengths and weaknesses too.

Overall Experience

During my overall work experience, I faced various challenges however, I have handled the situation in an effective manner. During this time, I found that I have accomplished my responsibilities in an effective manner and my experience was excellent.

During the work exposure, I have dealt with different situation in an effective manner while carefully handling my duties as well as different responsibilities (Frensch and Funke, 2014).

In AMR clothing, I was responsible for sales, maintaining cash books, keeping in check the stock amount, maintaining monthly reports and submitting reports to the accounting department. While fulfilling these duties and responsibilities, I have faced different challenges and have handled the situation in an effective manner to resolve the problem through utilizing my problem solving skills.

Due to this reason, I need to deal with maintaining the records of the inventory however as I have lack of experiences of this industry, so initially I faced a huge problem in managing the stock. There was a need of addressing of different department records which has become critical task for me (Sternberg and Frensch, 2014). At the same time, I was found that I was not utilizing my problem solving skills in an adequate manner.

It is believed that to solve the problem in an adequate manner, there is a need of utilizing mental, analytical and creative skills (Landau, Manuel and Bordeianu, 2015). The combination of these three skills enables an individual to resolve the issues in a well-defined manner while supporting towards taking valuable decision.

However, in the initial stage, I was not become able to utilize these skills due to which I have to face the challenges and was not become able to fulfil my job responsibility properly. Moreover, I have not taken help from the other department such as sales and cash department due to lack of leadership skills.

However while facing the challenges, I have decided to improve my skills and have started to work out on negotiation, leadership and change management skills. Involvement of these skills has supported me to improve my problem solving skills (Jeppesen and Lakhani, 2010).

Managing the Accounts

The work experience in AMR Clothing Company has supported me to learn the managing and maintaining the accounting reports for overall transaction which had taken place within the organization and has supported towards taking the effective decision regarding the growth of the firm (Kar, et al., 2010).

During this work exposure, I was identified that the management accounting includes the knowledge related to accounting, financing, and management.

Literature Review

Bhattacharya, Guner and Ventura (2013) depicted that problems are basically associated with every work. So, there is a need of developing the problem solving skills as it enables towards resolving the internal as well as external issues.

The problem which is faced by an individual can be large, small, simple, complex, and easy or difficult. In this context, problem solving skill enables towards developing a significant quality in the personality which support towards handling the situation in more effective manner as compare to other individuals.

According to Mihail and Kloutsiniotis (2014), problem solving skills supports an individual towards increasing the growth opportunity in the professional as well as social life. Problem solving attitude enables an individual to overcome from the barriers which are creating issues or challenges towards the achievement of the goals and objectives. So, it remains highly assistive to improve the individual and overall organisational performance.

According to the views of Bunăiașu, Vlăduțescu and Strungă (2014), each individual uses different skills to solve the problem while utilising different steps according to the mental, analytical and creative skills as well as the nature of the problem.

Despotović and Katavić (2016) identified that there are some basic steps which a firm needs to follow to resolve the organizational issues. These steps are – identification of the problem, generating the alternatives, evaluating and selecting the alternatives and implementing the solution.

In the contrary, Jeppesen and Lakhani (2010) argued that the firm utilizes different steps according to the situational need towards resolving the issues. Due to this reason, firm recruits the leaders who have the skills of effective problem solving skills which supports to lead the team in a right direction in an effective manner.

Above problem solving steps remain helpful to solve the problem in an effective manner while leading the firm in a right direction.

Checklist Framework

Problem Solving Steps Strong Skills Medium Skills Weak Skills
Problem Identification Strong problem solving skills are required in a leader and manager to develop in-depth understanding regarding the problem Medium level problem solving skills supports the manager to develop the understanding of problem but not in-depth Weak skills reflects that the issues are not analysed by the manager effectively

Evaluating and Selecting Alternative Strong evaluating and selecting alternative results quick and effective results Medium skills do not support to obtain effective results Weak skills do not provide the efficiency of evaluating and selecting the  alternative

 Reflection over strengths and weakness

From the above framework, it can be interpreted that the major steps of problem solving are problem identification, generic alternatives, evaluating and selecting and implementing a solution that can be used by people. On the basis of above checklist, it can be analysed that I have strong problem identification skill due to which I become able to develop the in-depth understating regarding the problem.

It has supported me to understand the nature of the problem while giving deep understanding regarding the process. Moreover, I have strong generic alternative skill which reflects that I have strong and effective skills to offer possible alternative.

However, in the contrary, I have weak skills in evaluating and selecting alternative so there is an opportunity of developing good managerial skills while increasing the efficiency of evaluating and selecting alternative which will enable me to implement the solution towards the achievement of the desirable result.
