It also helps in customer retention as the customers are highly satisfied with the good behaviour towards the customers. Social skills are mainly defined as the skills that people use to interact with people and communicate with other people. This is a very genuine impact and comes naturally to any person. According to Yarberry, and Sims, (2021), social skills are a complex ability that is admired by others if acquired and also criticized by others if the skill was not acquired. this is a very complex aspect and the employees of the brick and mortar store have to achieve these skills as this is very helpful for many factors of the shop.
According to Good, and Hyman, (2020), after the online engagements of the shops the social skills are decreasing day by day of the people and people are forgetting how to communicate with each other. This is not only affecting our social life but also affecting our mental health. It is very much complex that the people are not engaging in the social aspects so it is very much needed that the customers will start to engage the facts that are very much useful to the aspects. According to Lewis, (2020), social skills also are the degree of an individual for emotional control, sensitivity, and focus. These are very much essential to connect with a person emotionally. Bad social skills will result in bad reviews of the shops and this make a huge loss for the shop as the people of the society will lose hope in the shop. The employees who are not good at social behavior should not do the customer dealing process. Good social communication skills are very much impactful for the case of the brick and mortar shop as the people will come back to shops if the shops are very much good in the ethical behavior and the views that is needed to be clear in a proper manner.
Online shops are very much famous nowadays, and people are very much satisfied with online shops as there is a communication process between the buyer and the shopkeeper. So the advantages of the social skills of the employees are given in a good manner and by this much bigger examples like Tesco it is necessary to find out what are the impacts can social skills of the brick and mortar shops can have.
4. Research methodology
4.1 Research design
Research design is a Framework that offers an achievable structure to research and has types which include descriptive explanatory and exploratory Research Design. The current research will increase explanatory research design due to its ability to work with secondary data that has been collected from accessible sources. Moreover, explanatory Research Design helps in establishing interpretation of the social environment and the data collected. In the presence of limited data on the research topic, it can be feasible for exploring preliminary knowledge on the subject (Kluge et al. 2019). Information on the importance of employee social skills working at brick-and-mortar stores as cares therefore explanation research is likely to be more fruitful and compact to the other options available while it is also less complicated.
4.2 Research philosophy
Research philosophy is the idea or notion based on which decisions are made on the type of data that needs to be collected for specific research to fulfil research objectives. The variants available for research philosophy are positivism, realism, interpretivism and post-positivism. The concerned research will incorporate an interpretivism research philosophy which will allow the researcher to actively understand the data collected from the surrounding environment (Siponen et al. 2021). Secondary data refers to the uses of existing information which are recorded or documented in the form of journals and articles. On the other hand, primary data is the collection of information from direct sources such as participants. In this research, the application of secondary data collection will be done which will involve Peer-reviewed journals and articles along with Internet research. This research will conduct a qualitative strategy as it is highly flexible and adaptable. This strategy gives the opportunity of incorporating data of various kinds ranging from theoretical information to numerical data (Siponen et al. 2021). This is unlike quantitative data which is restricted to statistical data on the other hand mixed methods can be complicated. Therefore, considering the abstractness of the chosen topic qualitative strategy is highly feasible for this research.
4.5 Data analysis method
As the present research will apply the strategy of qualitative research there for the ideal data analysis method is thematic analysis. This method of analysis allows categorizing the data collected based on their patterns of information which reflect similarities or dissimilarities. This process makes analysis procedures highly convenient and structured.
4.6 Research limitations
As this research will mainly consist of thematic analysis, it is very much certain that there have to be some difficulties that the researcher will be facing. The thematic analysis process is very much flexible and this flexibility could lead to inconsistency in the development of the research data.
4.7 Ethical Issues
The vastest issue that mainly comes in the ethics issues is the voluntary participation which is mainly described as the people who will be participating in the research will not very much concerned about the research and there will be a chance that those people left the research incomplete in the future.
