(ii) Process Management in the Organization including the Process Chart
The customer process chart allows the development of the basic structure for relationship management with the customers. The process chart for Bentley helps to attract customers to the development of sales rate for the company. A new type of CRM for the services of the customers drives the smarter data for the solution of the problem in the workplace and attracts the customers.
Through Automation intelligence, the company can improve the process of customer operations in the workplace (Trovao, 2020). The new technology is able to develop the productivity and features of the vehicles for the best services to the customers. This chart also helps to solve all the complexities of the issues related to the customers.
The basic structure of this process chart was developed for customer-related management. There was a necessity of developing four lanes as the client, Clark, the customer care department and the process owner. Four lanes are very important to develop in this process chart. Clarks play the role both in solving clients’ demands and also helping the team members to resolve problems. The Bentley Motor car brand does not have any pandemic story.
The connection with the customer of this motor car company was good. A good connection with customers helps to grow the company’s reputation. Talking about the customers’ experiences and services, the chief of Bentley Motors’ digital officer Robert Savin said that the experience with their customers was very good, both digitally and physically. In order to reach that goal, the team played a very crucial role. Execute this role Bentley Motors recruit a team of leaders from diverse fields.
Their different skill and talents and experiences add more value to reaching the goal of that organisation. The team of this organisation added the features of live chat and made a way for the customers to connect with the organisation’s experts at any time. A key theme of Bentley motors is that this organisation is focused on increasing the experience digitally. It helps to get an operational excellence.
Figure 1: Process chart (Source: Self-created)
The process chart of the company shows the request of the customers for the development of the sales rate. Through technological support, the company can solve the issues in the workplace and reproduce the issues for the development of the sales rate. For the purpose of developing the features of the vehicles, the company have to gather more feedback from the customers for the development of the business with customer satisfaction.
Through the technological support and opinion of engineers for production, Bentley can fix the issues in the workplace and increase customers’ interest. The sales team of Bentley motors can improve the customer’s operations with the websites and social media platforms.
While talking “Process Management”, refers to an organizational discipline which provides tools for analyzing, monitoring, defining, optimizing and controlling the whole business process. It helps to measure and improve the performance of the individual interdependent process of a business. The main aim of this process management is to optimize the business processes to get or achieve system performance better (Viriyasitavat, et al 2020).
To achieve “Operational Excellence” in an organization, it must go through a strategy. It means through these it becomes more reliable or performs better than the competitors. Growing revenue, lowering costs, and instilling the company culture helps continuous improvement. A tool like “Big Data Analytics” may also support achieving significant benefits in a business and helps to drive the company into organisational improvement (Bag, et al. 2020). There is some key principle which helps to increase the “operational excellence” of an organization.
Principles like making lean value streams flow, making flow visual, creating standard work for flow, a designing system of lean value etc. there is also Six Sigma, and Kaizen Lean Manufacturing which helps to achieve excellence in the organization. The inventory management helps the company to find the stock orders at a time with the new features of the products of the company.
“Operational excellence” is able to develop the measurement of the key performance metrics with the machine learning technology and algorithm. In the workplace of Bentley Motors, the management of inventory and the attraction of new customers is a major part of the development of the business market. The mentioned company sells premium cars with automation technology for the satisfaction of customers (Pang et al. 2018). Each auto technician gets the continuous change of the features of motors with the up-to-date training.
In an organisation scheduling operations is very important to achieve the goal of excellence. Scheduling operation is a kind of short-term plan of execution of the production. In order to manage the execution of the process of production, it is important to work within the time schedule. It helps to maintain a balance of product efficiency and deliver the product at the right time. And it helps to motivate the employees to give more time to planning to perform the best.
Overcome all the deficiencies of the approaches, need to make a time schedule in a technical and proper way (Ing et al. 2021)The most important benefit of it is “helping avoid procrastination”. Nowadays it is very important to set a goal and then focus on the work. Scheduling planning ensures that the proper workflow is produced to ensure job allocation. Similarly, Bentley Motor Works achieve all organizational excellence if the time schedule is in proper way. The technology which is used must be an updated version so that it reaches its goal.
“Purchasing and supplier management” is basically a professional pronouncement of a business. It is an ongoing process through which the companies were able to produce a better outcome. There was no company excellence achievement without the supply chain. And the easiest way to create a workforce there needs agile employees. To create the workforce which helps to achieve the goal, there must be a celebration of innovation, creating a good work culture that helps to adapt to the championship and fosters resilience.
The largest automotive industry has a very substantial effect on movement in society (Masoumi et al. 2019). To achieve the excellence of the chain, organisation leaders must focus on the details of the infrastructure. That promotes the aggressiveness of perforation goals in such areas as purchasing, distribution, and the strategies of integration. All these processes help to grow an organization to achieve excellence. Through this process of management, the organization Bentley Motor Works achieves organisational excellence.
(iii) Lean Management in the Organization
Lean management is a process and an organization can use this process so that the organization can focus on the value of the organization. A value stream is one of the parts of lean management that can be adopted in organizational management. Lean management is approaching a management process so that organization gets support through various concepts by taking continuous improvement strategies. Bentley Motors stands to serve its service and production then lean manufacturing helps to make plans to improve the quality of the service and production. Quality can hold the value of the organization when it maintains a value stream.
To achieve the best profit by capturing the market the company needs to increase the value of the production and services. As recommended by Fitzsimmons (2010), Lean management helps the organization to maintain or focus on the customer’s value where customer satisfaction is the main motive by understanding the customers’ needs. Lean management also helps to clear all the waste things or the things which are not right for the organization (Rotter et al. 2019).
The management helps to make the right decision to possess the organization and eliminate the older service and policies to progress the organization with good initiatives. The purpose of the management is to serve the customers by identifying the real problem and trying to resolve it with the process and purpose of customer service.
Lean management also influences leadership and also the improvement of the organization can be done through the role of employees and their hard work. Employees’ hard work contributes to making a maximum profit through production and service, so the management of employees is also important in making the best decision (Hemdan et al. 2020). The efficiency of the organization can help to increase productivity and by maintaining the cost efficiency with the cycle time by implementing five principles of the Lean management process.
Five principles which help the organization to progress with lean management are:
Identifying Values
As emphasised by Kęsek et al. (2019), Value is always focusing on customers’ needs as the organization when producing products and services. It has to be focused on the customer’s satisfaction and the good for the customers so that they would be influenced by the organization’s service and products.
The manufacturing products are delivering its services by marinating time so that the customers can utilize the service at the right time that needs to be focused by the organization and the planning needs to be adopted. Price is always indeed to be maintained so that the customer’s values can be fulfilled.
Value streaming
The management helps to understand the goal of the organization regarding the services and helps to map in next steps. The process is started to deliver the services after making the final products. Value streaming is the process which helps to take action by focusing on the products and services so that the goal can be fulfilled (Rotter et al. 2019). Bentley Motors have to identify the steps which do not have created value; the mapping can be corrected by utilizing the business operation.
Create a continuous workflow.
By identifying all the issues and removing all unwanted decisions or services, the workflow needs to be maintained so that no interruption can hamper the work. Value creation needs to be scheduled in a tight sequence so that the product and service can be delivered to the customer on time by satisfying them.
Establish pull system.
Time management is the most important task after creating the workflow or maintaining tight schedules. As per the views of Hemdan et al. (2020), the customer would be satisfied when they would get their products on time. The product quality increases demand but the expectation will not be met by customers so all the points need to be examined by the organization so that the demand-pull can be increased.
Perfection
Every step needs to be followed with proper strategies but perfection will come after following every step from the organization. Every employee of the organization needs to be involved to make every step perfect and every department has its own work (Kęsek et al. 2019). When employee engagement is maximum in Bentley Motors then perfection may come. Demand-pull automatically improves with the perfection of the organization.
Part B
Capacity Management within the organization
Capacity can be managed by ensuring maximum business potentiality by understanding the situation of the market. An industry or organization can meet all the expectations by adopting different operational strategies by utilizing operational performance (Fagefors and Lantz, 2021). An organization has to review organizational performance by maintaining management. As per the views of Siongok (2021), Organizations should always attempt to match their capacity to their forecast and known demand patterns because the demand pattern helps to make the strategies of the organization.
Less demand means less focus on that area or more focus on increasing the demand. As Bentley Motors is a car-producing company but it cannot target only rural areas because the urban areas use more cars so, the target should be according to the demand. The company also can increase targets by moderate focusing on fewer demand areas so, targets have to be set by priority so that the company can gain maximum profits.
Recognizing Capacity Problems
The organization has to recognize the capacity problem as the organizational target and the customer’s demand along with the number of employees can define the capacity of the organization. As discussed by Mizintseva et al. (2019), “Operations Performance ” determines the organizational capacity of the organization by finding the ability to produce the best products and services.
The performance of Bentley Motors depends on the quality of the products. The service also needs to deliver the products by marinating time and speeds are required to finish the products and out for delivery. Flexibility would come in operational performance through the engagement of the employees. The organization needs to be focused on “Operations Processes” because organizational methods need to be adopted so that the company can set the task and strategies (Johnson and Clark, 2012).
Planning is needed to progress with the organizational process through which preparation is essential to continue organizational activities. “Operational process” required executing all the activities to note whether the process was going the right way or not. Assessing is also important to report whether the final products and services are in the right way or not.
Incorporating Capacity Issues into Management
The company or firm has to find the issues or problems which are the weak point of the organization such as the weakness of Bentley Motors as its target small group and the products are not environment friendly. The firm has to analyze its problem and have to progress with solving the problem (Slack et al. 2013). An environmentally friendly car can create more opportunities so it has to be focused on the weakness and have to make it an opportunity. Managing capacity needs to be increase which can pull demand from the organization.
Incentive Blocking Capacity Mitigating Measures
Limited entry and supply is targeting a small audience blocking the capacity of Bentley Motors. The organization has to increase the capacity by reporting the blocking capacity which is making less demand in the organization. “Lean Synchronization” will help to achieve the flow of products by targeting more and services by delivering to more customers (Zhang et al. 2019). This process helps to flow the products with a smooth flow. Techniques need to be developed so that the blocking incentives will not happen by maintaining the regulation of the organization.
Incentive Adjusting Capacity Correcting Measures
Incentives offer long-run strategies by regulating the strategies of the organization and by maintaining government focus. As suggested by Craighead et al. (2020), taxes and royalties can hold the organizational reputation whereas “Supply Chain Management” helps to make reports about the company’s ethics. The supply chain helps to manage the flow of data and products or goods to the ultimate destination. The flow or transfer needs to maintain some ethics and process.
As suggested by Cousins et al. (2008), “Inventory Management” helps to identify the company by prioritizing the company products. Supplier performance analysis is done through the organization because the suppliers are also directly or indirectly related to the organization, and they also have to maintain the ethics of the organization.
Quality and improvement – management tools and techniques
Operations Strategy needs to target the quality of the products by adopting different techniques and tools. The company has to be focused on improving its services along with its products. The audience also wants satisfaction by maintaining good relationships, so the company also has to take new initiatives to develop strategic initiatives.
Part C
Conclusions and Recommendations
The British automobile organization Bentley Motors produced cars for luxury and supplied cars all over the world. The organization has strength by the popularity of the cars as the company has its unique Brand strategies. The car uses its technologies and always tries to improve the technology and is making research on this, so the strategies Bentley Motors have adopted are enough. The brand has value and maintains the value of the customers by satisfying them. The satisfaction the firm gives by feeling them special.
It maintains its heritage and the most important thing it maintains its mission and vision by giving comfort to its customers by producing luxury goods. The problem arises when its targets are minimum because the products are made that cannot be afforded by other middle-class people. The company also needs to focus on middle-class people who can afford a car with minimum rates. The demand when the profit increases will increase automatically.
The non-environmental products the industry produces concern people mostly avoid. The smoke the company produces pollutes the environment, so the company has to be alert and have to change its operational strategies. Different tools and techniques need to be adopted as the best opportunity for the company are to have an R&D (Research and Development) department.
Recommendation
Supply chains also need to be developed and the direct supply or the customer’s feedback also needs to be analyzed. The research study has suggested that the company needs to be focused on new targets as it has fewer targets so that many people can buy the products. The company also needs to be focused on the market, many markets need to be captured to develop the company or to make management.
The customers have satisfaction with using the products, but the environmental pollution worried the customers or other people who are thinking to buy the products. The management of market change needs to be improved. The other organization has improved their quality by eliminating the environment-friendly products so; the capacity of the organization improves. By noticing the problem the organization has to be made the strategies and internal and external processes that need to be adopted.
Indenting values and the process need to be done so that the market chain and supply will be in with the proper time. Bentley Motors does not promote the brand via advertisement and as it promotes its brand via sponsorship so the company can increase its value by adopting different strategies. The problems arise and threaten the company as the government is now stricter about the pollution and protection of the environment.
Fuel prices are also increasing so the company has to take new strategies so that the car can run with an environmentally friendly process. Competition is also high in the market so, the company also needs to improve its car along with luxury products for middle-class people.
