The prime three approaches to research are: “Quantitative, Qualitative, and Mixed” research approaches. The first or the quantitative research approach refers to the gathering of numerical or statistical data to define, predict, and control the research. It needs a systematic and primary analysis which is called the inductive type. For qualitative research, it is a process of collecting, analyzing, and interpreting narrative and existing data to receive insights into a particular area of interest.
This research approach can be considered as a simultaneous study of several features of an area and the stepping into the study of existing theories. Qualitative research approach is associated with the deductive type which is used in this current study as well. The philosophy which the researcher will apply in this current research is positivist philosophy which refers to the idea of understanding the several aspects related to research subject in an objective way. Secondary analysis will be performed.
Secondary analysis does not refer to the process of copying materials from the past research but to use them as inspiration for the new research. Another type of research approach which is a mixed method, refers to the combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches by combining both types of information in a simple study.
Mixed research method enables the researcher to create or operate a task on the basis of both the research approaches. Mainly the approach of a research depends on the type of project on which the research is based. In quantitative research, observation, focus teams, surveys and interviews are also being conducted. But in qualitative research, there is no need to operate any primary analysis, the researcher can only proceed as per the reviews of early research.
