KF7028 Research & Project Management Assignment Sample 2023
The challenges faced during the construction of each proposal
The first challenge was to find potential impacts of the interactive system for the program. This is the main step for creating awareness among the people for feeding the people for is dying out of hunger. Identifying the various scopes for the creation of the interactive system such as the Requirement Specification, Detailed Design, Integration, Management, Architectural Design, Coding Unit Testing and Operation was very challenging. In order to accomplish all these scopes I have to work very hard to recognize them one by one, in order. These scopes required a lot of research for proper implementation of the program.
I have to research about the requirement that the target (hungry people) needs, the amount of food that they need to survive, what kind of food will be the best, how many people are foodless in UK and the best way to make the people, who can afford feeding them, aware of these needy people. It was very difficult to access the literature for the supportive content regarding my aim. The review based on the literature was not an easy task and required immense analyzing skills. Then according to these needs an architectural design is to created, which is not an easy task, as we have to check whether or not it fulfills all the requirements of the goals of the program. It was very challenging to keep a check on each of the aspects attentively. After this, we faced problems in Coding Unit Testing as we know coding is not a cup of cake, so many errors were found in the initial code, which was rectified one by one, after every trial. After many unsuccessful attempts of running the correct code, we finally got it right. This delayed the project more, as it took a lot of time to get it right.
Another challenging factor was the management of the project. Any project needs to be managed as it will ensure the completion as well as accomplishment of the project and the target. Management is not an easy task, as it requires certain set of skills to handle the situation or people or the mode of conduct. There is always the lack of accountability, changes in scopes, higher expectations, unfeasible deadlines to meet up, and more. All these factors might have an influence on the project and probably will delay it.
Another challenging factor was the assessment of all the risks that I might encounter during the project. And these risks have been very hard to evaluate as the stand as an essential factor for achieving the target, that is to develop an interactive system for the awareness of feeding hungry people in UK. This also takes a lot of time as we cannot afford to miss any of the risk that might affect in future as every risk is very important to be assessed.
Also we have faced difficulty in maintaining the schedule activities. As it is very hard to complete each proposal in the given time. At first there was a big delay because of the activities that I have mentioned above, but as we proceeded with the program. Time management was the key. Managing time for each of the proposal helped at lot to achieve each proposal in time.
Interactions with peers, tutors, and supervisors
In this project, my supervisor helped me a lot and it was very essential and beneficial. Due to his help, I was able to orientate better in assembling the project proposals in proper academic format as well as understood the vital aspects of my project. He help me to face my challenges that I have mentioned above, gave me advise to manage time, helped me pick out risks and assisted in the errors of coding. Because of his help I am able to complete this project in the expected time. He made me understand all the aspects of the requirements, the target and the aim of the project. Several means of communication was used to communicate my supervisor, in order to get assistance, like Skype and emails and I feel that I received ample amount of relatable and helpful information for the project.
Interactions with peers were not very active as I think they were also busy in their projects as well. But we did exchange emails regarding the project proposal concepts, progress as well as status. We could have probably more active sessions of discussing the proposals of the project, but we did not. And there were not many of us who joined the calls or conversations, I remember we have around 4 members only (including me). Adding more members and being active on Skype calls will be very beneficial for the relationships of the students as well as we might be able to help each other regarding any issues that we face during the project. Responding to emails will even help as an email contains a brief introduction of any matter that seeks suggestion or review. But we did manage to keep up with the project with the 4 members that we had. We shared relative data about the project, communicated with each other for reviews on the shared data, shared recommendations for any improvement in the shared data as well as helped each other resolve any issues that we were facing. These have helped me a lot to get a step closer in completing my project.
The lectures given by the tutors have also helped me a lot to understand the aim and objectives of the project and gave me direction how to achieve them as well. I have been attending all the classes, in which my tutors have been giving relatable lectures on the project. Following these lectures, aided me to identify each proposal clearly and easily. Thus, it is very essential to follow the lectures and guidance of the tutors, as it will definitely help us to identify and achieve the goals and aims of the given project.
Thus, entirely this project was completed with the help of my supervisors, peers and tutors. They all have played their role effectively and guided me in the right direction to accomplish the goals.
