HR7004 MENTAL WEALTH: PROFESSIONAL EXCHANGE AND APPLIED RESEARCH ASSIGNMENT SAMPLE 2023
Introduction
A reflective account is considered to be one of the essential tools to understand and write the previous experience. It is used to write the overall experience gained. These learning experiences help in assisting in future decision making (Delmas, 2021). The assay is based on the Gibbs reflective traits and will show how the experience will help in enhancing overall personality. Using Gibes reflective essay, the individual personality trait will be assessed in writing. The module will is used to show the effect of Experience on my knowledge and competency level. Further t will guide in developing essential traits in the context of social, digital and economic space.
Application of theory
Gibbs reflective model has different stage use in various academic to analyse and evaluate the learning outcome of an individual (Adeani et al. 2020). Using the Gibbs reflective model, I understood the multiple traits and the necessity of the characteristics for effective personality development. With the help of the experiential learning gained from the undertaking module, I realised that there is a lack of knowledge pertaining to the digital, social and economic space. Subsequently, I realised the significance of ICT. The digital social and economic factor is essential for the assignment and academic-related task. Over a period of time and with the detailed analysis of the learning outcome based on the module, I came to know that the social and economic actors are considered to be drivers for securing employment. This factor is directly related to income, education and transportation (Rozmi et al. 2018). Initially, I took help from different sources and people to complete my assigned task. But later on, I realised that the employment and related data is interlinked and dependent on each other. The Gibbs cycle analysis revealed that the experience is one of the aspects for the development of personality, knowledge. It showed that I required sufficient knowledge, which subsequently helps me in becoming employable. I realised that experience is the basis for any kind of development, and without adequate experience, it’s tough to enhance the overall knowledge.
The study and analysis through Gibbs reflective model provide me with an insight that information and communication technology plays a significant role, and I lack those traits which are hindering my academic development. ICT helps in integrating the various communication channel and allow it to use in a most effective way. I come to know about the critical aspect of ICT; as a result, I emphasised more on learning with the help of the internet and online platform (Birnbaum and De, 2020). Therefore on the basis of the module, I come to know the importance of ICT and the approach by which I could enhance the essential traits. I started incorporating and emphasizing the learning outcomes of those subjects which needed for further growth as per the prior experience.
The approaches and the experiences gain by me in the module, and their applicability is tested by me through Gibs reflective cycle. The evaluation of the module was necessary to understand the learning outcome and experiences gained by the module. With the help of the evaluation stage of the Gibbs cycle, I came to know that HR plays a vital role in the management of human resources. I come to understand through the module that organisational productivity and a conducive work environment is greatly influenced by management. Efficient management is necessary to keep morale high and maintain the reputation. Through the evaluation of my experience, I come to know that I possess leadership quality which is required for organisational development. The leadership trait will help me in achieving the objective of the organisation by influencing the group member. The leadership helps in maintaining a healthy environment within the group and allow holistic effort and constant motivation towards the goal. During the module, I participated in various task to gain a comprehensive experience.
I participated in a group discussion where I was assigned a task to recruit the people for an organisation. While recruiting the people, I focused more on those candidates who have relevant skills for the particular job role. This shows that I have an in-depth understanding of human resource management and the way the recruitment process should be held to achieve maximum e employee retention and higher job engagement in the organization (Kratt, 2019). I participated in a task in the same module where I was given the task to interact with people of diverse background. I realised that I lack communication skills. Without effective communication, it’s very tough to make people understand one’s viewpoint. Communication skills help in delivering the objective and goal of the organisation. The lack in communication skills disrupt the path and de-motivate the other group member to proceed further. With unclear communication, they show reluctance in the attitude to put their effort into the assigned task.
I participated in the group discussion task organized as per the framework of the module and came to know that I lack interpersonal skills. It’s tough for me to get along with the opinion of the people quickly. The lack of interpersonal skills poses a challenge for a leader to deal with people arss the different department. As per the module, I learned that interpersonal skills are a critical aspect of the development and growth of an organisation. A leader who lacks these interpersonal skills could not be able to meet the objective criteria and may lead to poor productivity.
I was appointed as the trainee manager in the module task. I analyse my experience with the help of Gibbs reflective cycle ‘ conclusion’. I understood through the module activities that the experiences acquired by me over a period of time are not up to the mark in the field of interpersonal skills while working as a trainee manager. I lacked interpersonal skills, and it is crucial for me to develop this trait to be able to deal with people from diverse background. Further, interpersonal skills will help me in engaging with people in a more effective way. This will help me as well as the organisation in which I will work. I talked to the most experienced senior manager and gained sufficient insight on how to cultivate such traits and utilise them in the most effective way to realise the goal.
Finally, I analysed my experience as per the last stage of Gibbs reflective cycle that is action. As a trainee manager in the module task, I focused least on engaging with the new recruit to ask them a good question about the different aspects related to the job role. Even during the trainee period, I could not be able to ask the question related to the mental health. My reluctance and inability in taking a decision on certain aspects forced the organisation to incur a loss (Kamal and Radhakrishnan, 2019). If I had taken the decision to ask the employee about their mental well being and their compatibility with the job role assigned, the loss incurred by the company would have been avoided. The Gibs reflective cycle has action ints the last stage, which is used by me to evaluate the experience gain from the module. The module clearly shows that my inability in taking the decision at the right time could bring potential complications to the organisation. Therefore to avoid this, I consulted many senior and experienced leaders and practising the necessary trait to develop the personality as per the experience I gained through the module.
Discussion and recommendations
The experience gain from the module is immensely important to develop a personality that is considered an essential trait in an employee for the organization (Dåderman and Ragnestål, 2019). Through the personality assessment test, I came to know that I have the good analytical ability—the leadership quality I revealed through this test. The test is able to demonstrate that I have strong communication skills, which could be used for better communication with the other group member. The communication skills help in motivating the other group member, which results in an increase in the productivity of the group. The test revealed that I lacked interpersonal skills. Interpersonal skills help in understanding and getting along with others easily and comfortably.
To enhance my weaknesses, such as lack of interpersonal skills and the inability in making a critical decision, I started interacting with more diverse people and started understanding and learning with new experiences.
As per the CIPD plan, the recommendation has been provided based on my weaknesses.

Conclusion
As per the analysis, I reached a conclusion that reflection writing helps in understanding the bottlenecks and loopholes in the various learning outcomes. The reflection writing helps in analysing the experience gain over a period of time. Accordingly, nits helped me in improving my weaknesses and practice my strength for better development.
