Task 1: Change Analysis Proposal
Identification and critical analysis of areas impacted by digital disruption
The past few years have highlighted the essentialities of digital technologies transforming the working and production processes of manufacturing companies for remaining competitive in the market. However, focusing on the digital transformation practices incorporated by Tata Motors in recent times would be the digitisation of the manufacturing ecosystem and identification of different areas related to shortening the cycle time along with improving overall data visibility levels through bringing in improvements within overall efficiency to enhance the safety and quality of manufacturing processes. Moreover, the automotive artificial intelligence market is expected to grow from $445.8 million in 2017 to $8887.6 million in 2025 (Alliedmarketresearch, 2022).
However, there are four major areas within Tata Motors that have been impacted by digital disruption in recent times: real-time data integration, leveraging insights, capturing and identifying process data and data security issues. Moreover, the organisation is found to incorporate real-time integration of data along with tracking process parameters and materials. This has significantly improved the efficiency of manufacturing processes for Tata motors. The company has also focused on driving actual improvements in fields of safety and quality through capturing and processing real-time data within the manufacturing system (Tatamotors, 2020). Tata motors have also emerged to coordinate logistics and manufacturing data for inbound and outbound logistics for undertaking better decisions on scheduling and sequencing. However, the influence of cross-functional data integration has been a driving factor for improvement and internal efficiency in the quality of production.
Digital transformation objectives to be achieved in the next 5 years
The company Tata motors have already emerged to innovate and develop in a significant manner for gaining digital transformation through the adoption of various technologies. The global network talent cloud focuses on remote delivery and collaboration of talented employees along with securing borderless infrastructure through hard assets to secure remote connectivity options. The talent cloud acquisition system has focused on redefining talent engagement strategies by the next 5 years and has also democratised talent acquisition and deployment within the company. Tata motors have also focused on the transformation of the existing business scenario through real-time data and artificial intelligence lead incubations for scaling out future digital platforms (Tatamotors, 2020). The company has emerged to highlight the digital transformation agenda which has accelerated in the past years and further focuses on embarking on a journey for responding towards changing perceptions and expectations of consumers.
Task 2: Data and Decision Process
Proposal of techniques and technologies to be utilised for detecting changes within the operating market
Now, focusing on the proposal of technology to be integrated for the detection of changes within the operating market of the automotive sector would be the improvement made within predictive technology and machine learning for understanding and forecasting the demands from consumers after critically their purchasing patterns, requirements and driving experience (Bzai et al. 2022). Moreover, predictive technology is capable enough to deliver a highly improved personal driving experience by setting the application preferences and entertainment system through the utilisation of algorithms (Vogl et al. 2020). The connectivity development within automotive vehicles is found to be capable of understanding voice commands for the completion of basic tasks along with incorporating sensors to provide notifications about vehicle repair or services. Therefore, Tata motors can significantly incorporate the technologies for the detection of changes within the operating market and customer perceptions.
Determination of digital systems for faster decision-making and adaptation to market changes
Digital transformation within organisations is found to be effective for successful integration with organisations through the incorporation of traditional web technology, mobile internet technology, cloud-based services, big data analytics along with the internet of things. Furthermore, the implementation of cloud-based services helps organisations to effectively undertake decisions in a quicker manner due to the availability of real-time data. On the other hand, the internet of things incorporated within the automotive industry helps in the development and integration of the complex system of devices like cameras, sensors, and GPS trackers that enables in optimisation of car manufacturers with effective transport management through the providence of real-time data (Javaid et al. 2021). In addition to that, big data analytics also helps in designing future vehicles after undertaking the customer needs and preferences from the available datasets from customer interactions conducted through social media and customer care platforms (Roden et al. 2017). This further helps the automotive manufacturers to identify the demand features and integrate the adequate assessment of price points viable for the customers. Therefore, the aforementioned recommendations of digital systems should be incorporated by Tata motors for adapting to market changes and quicker decision-making within the organisation.
Conclusion
The current report has focused on highlighting the changes occurring within the selected company Tata Motors through the integration of digital disruption technologies. Upon closer analysis, the report stated the actual improvements undertaken within the company regarding the areas of digital disruption like real-time data manufacturing systems along with the fields of quality and safety improvement. The major digital transformation objectives to be achieved in the next 5 years have been highlighted as digital transformation agents through the acquisition of real-time data and artificial intelligence along with changing perceptions and expectations of consumers. The main proposal techniques recommended for the company have been connectivity development through the incorporation of sensors and big data analytics while fast decision-making and adaptation to market changes can be achieved through the incorporation of cloud-based services.
