Construction Project Planning and Delivery Assignment Sample
Introduction
Construction can be stated as an essential part for economy as it stimulates the growth of economy, produces jobs and manages energy and environmental issues. Time, quality and cost can be stated as the main components in the success of project management for Construction Industry. The issue of poor performance in the projects of construction can be stated as the global phenomenon. This study has been conducted for investigating the construction projects performance for identification of poor performance contributors. The study has also identified the problem of overproduction, which is related to poor performance and also the 8 forms of lean waste. The organization related to such industries have to come up with the proper planning, design and programming.
Literature Review
Overproduction can be considered as a great problem in construction industry in the current situation. It defined as a production type that is generally more than needed. Excess inventory that affect time and money and effort and materials of the industry. The employment of staffs with proper experience and expertise in roles of accounting can be effective for issues alleviation of overproduction by giving better analysis and monitoring of the company’s financial position. As per the view of Ritchie, and Torit, (2019), steady cash flow can be important in the industry of construction where a business require cash for funding new projects, maintain current projects in moving forward and pay for labor, materials and cost covering. Over production can be related to poor performance in the construction industry.
Overproduction can impact each aspect of the implementation process of construction project. The shortages of cash can cause of business bankruptcy and project failure. Therefore, project failure indicates poor performance actually which can be arisen due to overproduction. As per the view of Prayed and Susanto (2019), Overproduction can be seen because of ordering very much cuts in inventory as one of the 8form of lean waste. Expenses need to be bear while the company can use the inventory for other project. As a result, it can be said that positive cash flow can enable an organization in covering its cost. The main reasons of issues in overproduction can be losses or low profits, a lot of stock or over-investment for capacity.
The management of overproduction for the businesses of construction can be stated as challenging. The construction industry is generally too much complex and full of potential risks. The overproduction can be avoided through some strategies but at first the issues needs to be identified properly.
The issues that have been mentioned above are mainly responsible for overproduction problem, but there are other issues also. Those issues can be overcome through the application of some strategies. Any contracts needs to include transparent wording on the financial penalties one can failed to meet KPIs, and details resolution dispute for legal action and sky-high bills prevention. The unbalanced production stages cells are the basic causes that can be taken.
Selected problems
Corruption and overproduction is the basic problem nowadays and there has various overproduction problem arrived in this case. Workforce and various issues can be found and faced by the overproduction strategies. The business budget and expenses are the most basic difficulties in nowadays, there are proper conduction diligence problems. There are many defects in the field of the selected problems . As per the view of Zhu et al. (2020), the defects occur when the materials are not eligible to use. There are many problems running in the field of management of construction project. The construction project management projects faces many problems during the pandemic situation and after the pandemic situation. There are so many problems exist all around this industry. But, the managers can identify the problems early on and try their best to give solution of the problems. Here are five construction management problems.
- Goals that are defined poorly
In the construction field, there are challenges like this exist all around the industry. In the Industry, there are so many confusion in their goals. Lack of clear vision and well- defined goals creates so many complexity in the field of construction project making. An organization without a goal is like a ship which goes nowhere. As per the view of Darko et al.(2019), different effective project management approaches can be taken in consideration. The stakeholders sometimes don’t know the goal of the projects. That is the most irritating things in the industry. The planning of the projects is also done on the basis of the goal of the project.
- Cost overruns
Many construction projects faces so many problems because of the overruns of the estimated costs. Different studies have been conducted on the cost overruns. On a study, it is proved that the overall global costs overruns starts at 16.5% . The cost overrun of a project may cross up to 175%. In the case of larger projects, the costs overruns are larger. As per the view of The risk is higher in the case of largest projects in the world. As per the view of Chatterjee et al (2018), hence, the costs overrun sometimes can be harmful for the organization. The probable solutions of the costs overflow includes proper planning which will solve the problems of expense tracking and budgeting. The lot of attention should be given at the total money and budgeting systems. A proper calculation and proper graphical presentation of the cash flow history are also the necessary factors to solve this kind of problems.
- Schedule overruns and unrealistic deadlines
The schedule overruns is also an important challenges and problems in the field of construction project management. This is a common factors in this industry. The poor time management is also a very important factors in the industry. The lack of direction and poor estimation can cause this type of problems. Proper reviewing of the plan that shows the strategy in the most effective way can solve different types of problems like this. Effecting time tracking system can also be used to overcome this types of challenges. The time tracker collects the related data on the all actions related to the fact of maximizing the profitability of the company. All the workers and the employees also can keep a team-monitor to track the proper use of time. The performances of the team also need to be keep in track to overcome this types of challenges.

Solution for the Problem
Utilization of technological Resources
Technological developments, by some definitions, have a direct influence on worker productivity. The productivity of the construction industry has fallen considerably behind that of the rest of the economy. Furthermore, the construction industry spends less than 3% of its $10 trillion in sales on technology. With the help of the software that manages the projects, businesses can able to track their work for faster than ever before. Project management software allows you to save all of your construction documents in one place, including blueprints, change orders, RFIs, and daily reports. Employees don’t have to waste the time for writing several things in numerous locations or, better yet, not documenting them at all, and they don’t have to spend hours attempting to find a solution to prior work. By saving them hours on “simple day-to-day tasks”, project management with the help of software may help their free time up and to increase their productivity as per the team. It’s possible to get up to 25% off in a lot of cases.
Planning of Construction focused on Data
Construction projects move quickly, and being organized can be challenging at times. However, a lack of structure might sabotage their project and, as a result, affect their team’s productivity. Before they undertake any effort, they must have a strategy in place. The better planned and prepared a project’s strategy is, the higher the project’s output rates will be. If their team increases its use of the data which is driven by approaches to inform planning for several efforts, productivity will be increased. BIM, or “Building Information Modeling,” is one method for optimizing project delivery that is gaining popularity among subcontractors. Different studies have been conducted in the field of Construction engineering and management. The field has witnessed a huge growth. The content is analyzed and organized properly in order to run the research process smooth and effective. The evolution of the construction engineering and management is shown in this types of journals. In the recent years , the traditional construction engineering and managent process has been changed . So, new ideas have been implemented in the convenience of customers and stakeholders of the company. The total process management process is covered in the journals . 30 different institutional sources have been used to write in such kind of journals.

There are different types of problems all around us . We need different strategies to solve different types of problems. Sometimes , the problems can’t be solved by existing methods. The experts come up with an innovative solution. For innovation, we need creativity. We need different types of techniques for different types of problems. Sometimes, the experts need to solve complex problems. For this issue, brainstorming is a very necessary thing. Many issues and problems can solved and illustrated via Fishbone diagrams. The different segments of the problems are shown in the backbone of a fish. It continues from the head of the fish ang go through the different bones of the fish upto tail of the fish.
The mind map diagram depicts the over production process that has various parts like events, causes, document and marketing. These parts are connected with the overproduction lean waste. The transportation area problem depicts the strategy and mission area statements with various parts.
