The Millennium Mills Redevelopment Reflective Report Sample
Introduction
The carbon emission construction design for the “Millennium Mills redevelopment” is performed where I am researching several factors which help me to know about carbon emission for the construction industry as well as how the constructors are able to reduce the carbon emission from their performances. Right now I am trying to prepare a report where I am trying to discuss my mental wealth and competences regarding my course work. Mental wealth competences is a framework which helps me to discuss my achievement as well as further activities regarding my development. “Physical intelligence”, social as well as “emotional intelligence”, industry connections, cultural intelligence, digital competence, cognitive intelligence, entrepreneur and enterprise, and community relationships are the new framework’s eight strengths. All these competences give me the guidelines to discover that those are achieved by me during my course work and which one is needed to improve in me for my better career.
Discussion
Reflection on Mental Wealth Competences
- Digital Proficiency
Definition: “Digital competence” entails using online media confidently as well as critically for business, recreation, and communications (Baleta, et al. 2019.). These talents are associated with rational plus critical thoughts, advanced data management experience, and strong communicating abilities.
Describe: For completing my analysis on “Millennium Mills redevelopment” construction method with minimal carbon emission, I used digital media for my theoretical information. Like I reviewed several online articles and surveys which are performed on carbon emission in the construction industry.
Analysis: After my analysis I felt that more than 60% greenhouse gases are produced for the construction industry. Also I realise that I am able to achieve this competence means for this project I am able to develop my online researching skill.
Action Plan: In future I am planning to improve this competence furthermore with the help of more engagement with search engines like Google, YouTube or any professional blogs.
- Social & Emotional Intelligence
Definition: Social competence consists of sociological consciousness and relationship administration abilities; social competence involves someone’s capacity to comprehend other human’s moods, behaviour, and intentions in addition to strengthening the effectiveness of their interactions.

Describe: During my analysis I described that the amount of carbon emission is really high for the construction industry and my research topic is to find out construction methods which help the constructor to reduce the carbon emission which is very important according to me.
Analysis: During my project I performed secondary data analysis to complete the project but I feel if I perform a quantitative research method then I am able to connect with social issues regarding carbon emission by the construction industry.
Action Plan: I planned for developing this competence in me and for that I am performing primary research where I can deal with peoples and their behaviours.
- Physical Intelligence
Definition: “Physical Intelligence ” is inherent in the matrix of psychological, emotional, plus physical structures in the human brain plus body that store unique characteristics and life accomplishments (K. and Duić, 2019.). The non-cognitive parts of this structured environment have a texture which profoundly affects the accuracy of human thoughts, emotions, and even bodily experiences.
Describe: I discover that the basic degree of intelligence seems to have a significant influence on human emotional, physical, as well as cognitive, capacities, determining the path of the methods by which people operate plus respond (E. and Coop, 2018). Using our Physical Intelligence, we may make targeted adjustments to our mental, behavioural, and neurological structure. As a result, we may automatically improve our present talents and attributes while learning new things.
Analysis: I realise that I may achieve 50 to 60 % of physical intelligence during my course work. I am not completely able to combine my emotions with the analysis.
Action Plan: In the future I plan to research physical Intelligence and understand how the experts are able to manage their emotions and physical structures.
- Cultural Intelligence
Definition: “Cultural intelligence” refers to the information, experiences, as well as abilities required to discover, comprehend, reflect on, then adjust to cultural variations (Streimikiene, et al. 2020.). People with strong Cultural Intelligence demonstrate four key abilities: CQ Drive seems to be the readiness to collaborate with people from many cultures.
Describe: Cultural intelligence competence is one of the most important competences because when I am performing my project several other cultures members are helping me to complete the project.
Analysis: I feel I am able to establish this competence because I am working with several other cultures but I never disrespect any culture and try to collaborate with them.
Action Plan: For further development I am planning to reunite with some other groups of the project and try to understand their strategies to maintain the cultural changes.
- Cognitive Intelligence
Definition: The ability to study, recall, reason, resolve issues, plus make sensible decisions, as opposed to “emotional intelligence”. The capacity to learn, remember, as well as apply knowledge, as well as to identify, present, and effectively solve difficulties.
Figure 2: Cognitive Intelligence
(Source: https://srinivasv.net)
Describe: While I was performing my project I discovered that I searched for several theoretical information regarding reducing carbon emissions from the construction industry (Imasiku, et al. 2018). But not a hundred percent I am able to solve the project issues. Also several pieces of information are not recalled by me.
Analysis: Cognitive Intelligence plays a vital role in the research analysis and this intelligence is not accurately present in me and for that I am trying to develop this competence in me.
Action Plan: For this particular skill development I planned to involve myself with more research work and without any help try to solve my own issues regarding projects.
- Industry Connections
Definition: The capacity to grasp and successfully meet the outcomes and attitudes of industrial relationships.
Describe: I deal with the construction industry and I explore that if I am not able to connect myself with that industry then how I am able to produce a high quality analysis regarding carbon emission.
Analysis: While I am performing my analysis I try to connect myself with the project work and find out all the construction industry related important areas as well as elements.
Action Plan: Industry connection is a big scenario which is not completely achieved by me. That’s why I try to develop this skill via following online programs regarding the construction industry. Also how the builders manage all issues while developing a building.
- Community Connections
Definition: Becoming a member of a community might improve one’s psychological health as well as behavioural well-being (G.L. and Abrhám, 2020.). Participation in the community fosters an experience of connection as well as social connectivity.
Describe: The “Millennium Mills redevelopment” project is highly required for community connections because while the builders perform their development activities they need to consider several social elements into account.
Analysis: During my project analysis I try to build connections with my teammates as well as other groups. So I understand that when any person tries to achieve a certain result they need others’ help and for that they must consider community connection as an important phenomenon.
Action Plan: For my future plan I decided to talk with strangers who belong to construction sites meaning outsiders of my teammates and University who can help me to know about my project subject in a better way.
- Enterprise & Entrepreneurship
Definition: “Entrepreneurship” talents include creativity, ambition, problem-solving, budget management, and economic as well as technology understanding (D. and Pratt, 2021). These skills help entrepreneurs like entrepreneurs effectively initiate and accept transformation.
Describe: In my project I discovered that all the construction organisations are currently looking for innovative strategies which help them to reduce carbon emission and become a sustainable industry (Salvo, et al. 2021). In the current situation entrepreneurship is the most important and effective talent which helps the environment by applying some creative approaches into the industrial practices.
Analysis: Entrepreneurship skill is the most preferable skill by the society because currently all the entrepreneurs are established themselves into the market with innovative and creative ideas. I also want to develop this skill and for that I plan my future activities.
Action Plan: I planned to follow some recently established businesses as well as several young entrepreneurs and their perspective of living plus for creating something innovative for the society. For that I choose Instagram, Facebook page and YouTube channels.
Conclusion
In the above section I am trying to discuss all the competences regarding mental wealth. Also which competences are achieved by me during my course work and what type of activities are required to develop my skills, all these are explained by me. In this section I combine the whole report and briefly discuss the main points of the reflective report. During my research analysis I try to achieve new skills and develop my personality but I am not able to completely achieve all the mental wealth competences. But I planned future activities that will help me to develop all those skills which need some modification.
