CHAPTER 1 (the number of Chapters could be more or less depending on the content)
1. Strategy of Wipro for competitive advantage and its effectiveness
The strategy is recognised as the remote working through digital transformation to reduce the impact of the Covid-19 for organizational efficiency and competitive advantage through corporate and functional level with decreased operational cost and increased employee well-being. The green economy practice in the strategy will give the advantage to prosper in the British economy with legal and cultural confidence.
Political
The UK has a politically stable government and has good relations with the world order and the neighbouring countries which help to conveniently import and export through the cross border market. The political stability and business-friendly structure have been helpful to thrive in the UK market with the IT and IT-enabled services along with IT infrastructure development for Wipro. Tax laws and labour laws are efficiently designed to foster the business strategy in the UK market and practice the legal obligation to improve organizational sustainability in the market economy. However, the Brexit movement is a political discourse where the UK left the European Union (EU) which is a pattern of neo-nationalism political movement cutting the free flow of goods, capital and resources from the EU. Political will and infrastructural push have the viability to gain sustainability through practising green economy and remote work culture across the UK for the organization Wipro. The internal power conflicts and politics are coming in the way of the green transformation of the UK due to priorities and the potential of green investment (Craig, 2020).
Economical
The UK is one of the developed nations having a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of around $2.76 trillion which influences the high consumerism in the UK market (Data.worldbank.org. 2022). Economic flourishes have helped to grow positive possibilities for Wipro to effectively earn a return on investment through its wide business portfolio.
The economic strength of the population enhances the quality of living while the Covid-19 pandemic has inspired strategic investment in digital transformations of several organizations. The digital transformation is focusing on Data Analytics, cloud technology, automation, cyber security and integrated business models to communicate and reflect the market responsiveness at the time of disruption during the Covid-19.
The Social
The population of the UK is socially diverse and gentle where the coexistence of multicultural and multi-ethnic people is an advantage for business organizations to enhance product diversity and specification and communicate with the customers. The people are technology-friendly and eager to explore more features to ensure the ease of life with technological intervention and interruption. Employees prefer the work from home option as a measure to counter the covid-19 and help the organization fulfil its objective. The unemployment rate of the UK is quite high compared with world orders and in line with other European nations with the great recession in 2008, Brexit and Covid-19 pandemic have a high impact on the social sector. The Equality Act -2010 has ensured equality among the people through a diverse cultural workforce engaging with dignity and respect to individuals (Legislation.gov.uk. 2022). The UK is now outsourcing skilled human resources from third world countries to keep the economy progressing with technological support.
Technological
The UK is one of the highly technically progressed countries where the initiatives and innovations are adequately supporting the business participation of the companies in the UK market. The technological emergence has been critically practised around the UK where populations are changing the preference for effective use of online e-commerce platforms for market transactions with quality living standards with industry 4.0 and digital transformation. This technological advancement in the country has offered possible market growth to Wipro in the UK market. Research and development of ultra-edge devices and remote-controlled features have the potential to gain consumer trust and confidence in its products and services for actualising the real time support. Moreover, technological advancement may create organizational resilience and enhanced capability with interconnectivity and vast outreach with digital transformation to effectively support the livelihood during the pandemic (Bryce et al., 2020). Wipro may critically establish its footprint in the UK with consumer electronics, IT and IT support, digital operation and platform as well as consultancy.
Environmental
The environment is now the prime focus for the business as well as political leaders where the increasing rate of pollution and waste are creating ruckus in public life with an increment of global warming, plastics in marine and toxicity in drinking water. The practice of using renewable energy is gaining public appreciation as well as government green compliance with net-zero carbon emission as a drive towards a sustainable future. The Environment Act, of 2021 has been adequately built to protect and enhance the environment for future generations with air clean up, restoration of natural habitats and increasing biodiversity (GOV.UK. 2022). It is also determined to reduce waste and better use of natural resources for a healthy and prospering living style through transitioning to a circular economy for the reduction of waste and plastic from the environment.
Legal
The legal framework is always significant for foreign companies to run effective business in the market where laws regarding import and export with tariff and tax laws as well as licensing and intellectual property rights are shaping the business value and product. The business-friendly legal structure of the UK will help Wipro to coordinate successful business processes binding the legal policy of the country in its change management strategy according to market demand. The Data Protection Act 2018, Gender Pay Gap 2018 which has been incorporated in Equality Act 2010 for reviewing the pay gap between men and women is quite helpful in business directives for the organization in the UK market to follow the policy (Practical Law. 2022).

Work from home
It needs to be opined that the manager of the company recently executed work from home options for the employees of the company as during the Covid-19 it is one of the safest options to maintain the workflow effectively. A journal also states that one of the main benefits of working from home is that it has enhanced the production and performance of the IT form during the Covid-19 outbreak (Patanjali and Bhatta, 2022). On a specific note, there is a huge possibility for the 4th wave of the Covid-19 in the UK if the company will continue the Work from Home (WFH) strategy then it will maintain the productivity level in the upcoming 12 months and result in the extra competitive advantage of the company. Moreover, it is the duty of every company in the world to fulfil the competitive advantage goals during the Covid-19 as the use of effective collaboration strategy such as enhancing the frequency of communication among team members helped the company to achieve these goals (Zulfikar, 2020).
Digital Transformation
In the present era, digital transformation may be considered one of the most important strategies for an organization. The management of Wipro is also focusing on digital transformation which may help the company to become an exponential organization in the upcoming 12-48 months. One of the main benefits of digital transformation is that it will increase the productivity of employees during WFH which indicates that digital transformation is extremely required to ensure the success of the WFH policy of Wipro. It needs to be mentioned that there is a massive impact of digital transformation in ensuring the optimum performance of the organization in the long term (Zhai et al., 2022). Nowadays, most of the It companies in the world have faced multiple issues in identifying the proper way to execute the digital transformation-related strategy as the manager of the company also decided to increase the value of the IT service by successfully implementing digital transpiration. Idea generation and Idea screening will be the most important strategy of this corporate strategy as Wipro needs to generate effective digital transformation-related ideas to establish the company as an exponential organization. Analyzing the mission of the company it is found that the company will also focus on making innovative research strategy to improve the wireless broadband communication service effectively (Sushma, 2020).
Financial investment and strategic partnership with associated industries

Purchasing hardware materials at a cheap rate will help the company in reducing the operating cost significantly in the next 48 months which increase the profit level of the company as well. Moreover, financial investment needs to be done effectively and there are many companies in the world such as Google, one of the tech giants of the world, invested more than 2.5 times in the initial stage and currently, the company has 10 times higher growth in comparison to other companies in the existing industry (Ismail et al., 2019).

Every company needs to execute an effective leadership style to enhance its competitive advantage of the company. In this case, the management of Wipro needs to develop a proper leadership and development plan to implement the WFH strategy by following the approaches of creativity and innovation. The modern leadership approach always has a close association with creativity and nowadays, the leaders of the organization need to develop leadership skills through a problem-solving angle. A journal also states that transformational leadership is entirely linked with innovative and creative approaches of an organization and one of the main intentions of using transformational and creative leadership is that it increases the creativity level of employees through intrinsic innovation (Harbi et al., 2019). Additionally, the leader of the organization needs to change the role from the traditional approach to a creative approach with the help of creative leadership to implement the WFH strategy properly. Moreover, the main characteristic of creative leadership is that it also focuses on a nonlinear path to increase creativity and apart from that a creative leader also takes a calculated risk to improve the productivity of the firm (Maeda. pm. 2022). In this section, the actions which will be taken by the creative leaders of the organization and the impact of thesis leadership actions will be evaluated in brief.
Actions are taken by creative leaders | Impacts of the actions in the organization | Person responsible | Expected Timeline |
Inspiring the employees to be more creative | It needs to be opined that if the leaders always inspire and motivate the employees of the organization then it will increase the creativity level of every employee during the Covid-19. It is proved that increasing the creativity level among employees is always beneficial in improving the total productivity level and performance of the company in WFH scenario. Moreover, creativity or innovations may consist of four elements such as uniqueness, novelty, specificity and originality which makes the company better (Prihantoroand Soehari, 2020). | Top management of the organization | 12-24 months |
Taking a calculated risk | Moreover, without taking a risk it is impossible to improve the performance of a company in a changing situation (Covid-19) while creative leaders always take calculated risks which may provide extraordinary growth to Wipro in the upcoming 24 months.
