Introduction
In order to achieve international success in a profitable job or to live a satisfying life, one needs educate oneself on several topics. Because of this, people with greater levels of education are more likely to find occupations that they are interested in after their schooling.
In the majority of cases, the most essential investment that people make is in their own educational chances. They are well-liked and respected by their colleagues, and they are better positioned than their competitors to make significant contributions to the development of the nation or society in which they live. We educate people in a number of methods in order to make them marketable, to assist them in becoming productive members of society, and to instil the virtues and values of the society in which they will be working.
Factsheet 1
Educating people is essential in the process of building an economically and socially stable society since it serves as a tool for socialisation as well as a deterrent to the growth of social instability( Kumar,2020). Young people, who will be the leaders of the future generation, must be prepared to adjust to their responsibilities in the society in which they will live, as well as to their own personal development.
Educational assistance is the process of assisting children and adolescents in becoming more conscious of their own identities as they go through their schooling. If students are to engage effectively in society, it is critical that they be equipped with the information and talents that will allow them to do so successfully (Viner,2021).
A greater understanding of the future generation is essential for tackling some of society’s most serious concerns, and this information can only be gained via research. To stay up with the fast changes that are taking place in the world today, secondary or postsecondary education is becoming more popular as a method of dealing with the challenges.
As a result of their dedication to boosting educational standards, they are willing to make sacrifices in terms of time, money, and even their own health because they believe that education is the key to giving their children with a more hopeful future (Gothwal,2018).
It is also likely that the school will help to the formation of a strong feeling of ethnic pride in the minds of children and teenagers, as well as in adults. Different ethnic groups may, for example, organise a variety of events in order to foster a greater feeling of belonging among themselves. An added advantage of participating in this activity is that children will have a better awareness of different cultural practises as a result of their exposure to them.
A variety of efforts should be conducted in order to get a better knowledge of Malaysia’s ethnic diversity. There is evidence to suggest that when youngsters are thoroughly aware about their own cultural heritage, they are more tolerant and polite toward those who come from a range of diverse ethnic origins and cultural backgrounds (Wadhwa,2021).’
Factsheet 2
Students’ educational experiences are enriched via participation in community service programmes, which allows them to develop and deepen their feeling of national identity as well as their sense of belonging in their communities. After everything is said and done, in order to reap the advantages of civic education, it must be perceived as much more than a collection of enjoyable activities in order to be successful (Imoh,2018).
It seems likely that efforts to promote racial peace among young people will be aided by this in the next months. Every individual, regardless of their religious or cultural heritage, is expected to demonstrate tolerance and unity at all times. Through the use of the nationality module, it is possible to get a more in-depth awareness of one’s own traditions and cultures, as well as the traditions and cultures of other countries and civilizations. They are aware of the differences that exist between other cultures and their own in terms of how they relate to them.
A major takeaway from participation in this programme is that participants will have a better understanding of the necessity of giving back to their local communities, larger societies, and the whole country as a consequence of their participation in it. A feeling of civic responsibility, as well as a sense of national pride, will grow among those who participate in community service as a consequence of their participation (Ford,2018).
According to one definition, education is described as “society’s organised efforts to share information and value among their group members in the pursuit of growing human potential and changes that have happened inside themselves.” When seen in this light, education seems to be a good endeavour in which to invest one’s time and resources. Instead than describing a specific institution’s educational philosophy, this description serves to symbolise that institution’s educational philosophy.
“Education in our country is intended to produce individuals who are well-balanced in all aspects of their lives, including academics, spirituality, emotion, and physical fitness, to name a few areas of emphasis. It is also intended to produce individuals who are well-balanced in their relationships with others. Each and every action we do is directed toward a single end: raising a generation of Malaysians who are well-educated and talented, who have high moral standards, and who are capable of contributing to the well-being and peace of their families, communities, and nation.” Nonetheless,.
There is a correlation between the culture in which a country lives and its perception of oneself and one’s position within the global community. In order for the nation to achieve long-term prosperity, education is necessary, both in terms of academic achievement and in terms of personal development. In nations where the national identity has been firmly established through time, educational results have a significant influence on the overall quality of life and the sense of belonging that people have to their country.
Discussion
There are a variety of factors that influence the development of great education, including the social, economic, and environmental circumstances in which it takes place, among others. It is on the basis of Ross and Wu’s findings on the education of individuals who are unable to regulate their quality of life in order to grow in economic and social advancement that their suggestions are based (1996a). ‘In order to feel confident in the face of the outside world, individuals must learn how to increase their self-esteem. This is a process that will persist for the rest of your life.
According to Wehmeyer (1996), self-confidence is the foundation of a person’s ability to function in the outside world and to be successful in their endeavours. Extrinsic factors are less likely to impact or interfere with a person’s decision-making process when they have a strong sense of personal autonomy and self-determination, according to the research. Developing your self-confidence and assertiveness via repetition will help you to improve your talents in these areas. Comparing having a college degree versus not having one, having a college degree does not increase a person’s self-esteem to the same extent as not having one.
Conclusion
There can be no doubt about the reality that education is the sole means through which the concepts that underlie responsible citizenship may be taught and developed in students. According to Deni Hardianto (2005), the components of the educational system are to blame for the educational system’s incapacity to aid students in creating a sense of national identity. It is everyone’s obligation to contribute to the improvement of educational opportunities when it comes to this issue. There are a number of parties involved in this issue, including educators, school districts, and the federal government, as well as other stakeholders.
Teacher attributes that must be present include a strong sense of self as well as a passionate desire to assist learners in the development of their own sense of identity growth. National educational standards and programmes can only be improved to a greater degree of excellence by the involvement of the government. For example, education must be made accessible to students, instructors must be supported, and education should not be exploited as a political tool, to name a few points of contention. Prejudice based on political ideology should not be permitted in educational institutions.
