It is a well known fact that no human beings are made perfect (Whittington and Yakis-Douglas, 2020). Every human being has flaws. Human beings make mistakes. It is not possible for an ordinary human being to become the CEO of the biggest technology company of the world. Mr Pichai’s IQ level and the presence of mind is extraordinary. His dedication and hard work has made him reach the pinnacle of the organisation. Mr Pichai is very popular due to his cool mind and his good nature. Many employees are uncomfortable with his management approach. This makes many employees get agitated (Astuti et al. 2018). Mr. Pichai effectively balances the work and the recess ratio. Mr Pichai has adopted strategies to make the employees develop speed to complete a task. The employees are instructed to take a break only after the completion of a task or a small portion of the task that is possible to be completed within the allotted time frame. It is evident that Mr. Pichai instructs to relieve their employees of that particular day’s duty upon completion of a particular task which required attention and expertise, within a very short time frame. The CEO conducts drill sessions to make their employees increase their brain speed.

Mr Pichai does not hesitate to change the roles of employees after repeated poor performances. This is considered to be ruthless among a section of the employees (Bozer and Jones, 2018). Reflective Statement
From the above study, I have been able to discover the leadership quality of Mr. Sundar Pichai. I have also been able to analyse the various management styles and characteristics adopted by him. It will help me to build strategies to develop and formulate new ideas to develop my organisation. If an organisation has to operate effectively and has to finish an undertaken task within the given deadline then the leader has to keep a clear vision and keep a calm and composed head to complete the task (Vipinkumar, 2018). From the above study, I have been able to evaluate the various components that I need to adopt and develop that can help me in the growth of my personality and leadership quality. The strategies that I have learned from the above studies will help me to focus on the goals that need to be achieved. It will also help me to manage the stress level within the organisation and raise the morale of the employees to complete a particular task. I have been able to formulate the development skills I need to achieve that are helpful to come up with different ideas to solve any issue raised.
I also have to examine and analyse the market and need to understand the needs of the customers that can help me to come up with new strategies to deliver services to them. It will also be beneficial for the growth of the organisation I am managing. Various different ideas can be implemented by developing a personal development plan and learning various skills over the time (Samsudina et al. 2019). It will also help me to grow personally and develop my communication skills so that I can convey my vision to the other employees.
Evaluation of the skills of Mr. Sundar Pichai
Mr. Sundar Pichai has a broad vision. He has the ability to come up with various solutions for any problem the organisation faces and solves it effectively (Villabe and Gonzaga, 2018). He has been able to gather knowledge from various sources and can use it to the full extent and this defines him as a leader who is successful in managing a big organisation like Google LLC.
In my opinion, I need to focus on developing communication skills as well as leadership skills. I have to focus on the various strategies that I can apply to enhance my communication skills. Therefore, I need to have a great learning ability as well. Because improving the learning ability can help me to learn the new skills more quickly and effectively. In the present state I lack effective communication skills. However, if I focus on my lessons then I will be able to improve over time.
He also has the qualities of an inclusive leader. It enables him to deal with different issues at any given time. He made sure that all the team members understood his message and contributed to the organisation (Mahmood and Baskaran, 2021). Therefore, I have to work on achieving the qualities of being an inclusive leader. To do so I have to learn to convey the messages to complete a task and make sure that every employee of the organisation understands the messages. In order to do so I have to start managing a team and work on properly communicating with them.
Mr. Pichai also has collaboration abilities. This ability enabled him to bring collaboration among the employees regardless of them having different backgrounds and cultures. In my opinion, this is a very important quality a leader should process if he/she wants to lead an organisation effectively. To do so, I have to study the different cultures and also have to communicate with people from different backgrounds so that I can focus on bringing harmony among people from different cultures and backgrounds.
He always valued his team members and made sure that they do not face many issues while they are working and could overcome any difference. According to Tuckman’s teamwork theory, an organisation can only grow if the goals and the stages to reach the goal are clearly defined to the organisation (Mirbabaie et al. 2019). It helps the organisation to work together and that is helpful for them to reach the target smoothly. In my opinion, his focus on looking after the employees of the organisation has added value to the organisation and has provided them a clear goal they need to achieve. In my opinion, I have to study more about the above mentioned theory. To do so, I can watch videos on the team meetings or mock team meetings where a leader sets a goal to his/ her team members and convey the messages they want to. It also helps me to understand that I have to keep my head calm and composed so that whenever a problem arises I manage to solve it effectively.
Principle for personal effectiveness
Personal effectiveness has many different principles that include various missions and visions to achieve different goals. It helps the organisation to achieve its target by effectively managing the stress and the timely information flow (van Woerkom and Meyers, 2019). Therefore, I need to adopt the various methods that can help me to perform a task efficiently and effectively so that I can achieve my goals without facing any issue.
The following are some of the characteristics for personal effectiveness that can help me grow personally.
The determination
Mr. Sundar Pichai has strong determination that made him the person he is today and helped him become the CEO of Google. If I have to succeed as a leader then I need to have a clear vision and need to have a strong determination so that I can achieve the goals provided to me. It is an important quality that a leader should possess so that they can manage an organisation. To achieve this quality I need to set up some daily targets and have determination to complete those within a limited time frame.
Self confidence
Mr. Pichai is always full of self confidence. He always has faith in himself and the methods he is taking to manage a big organisation like Google (Astuti et al. 2018). In my opinion, a leader needs to have self confidence because it is impossible to manage an organisation if an individual lacks it. For this I need to do tasks I find challenging and start having faith in myself so that I can complete the tasks without facing many issues. This can also help me grow not just professionally but also personally because I need to have faith in myself which I currently lack.
Stress Management
Mr. Pichai is a calm and collected person who does not falter even if a big situation occurs. He never takes any kind of stress and always focuses on the target and proceeds to complete it (Aravena, 2019). This is one of the abilities that a true leader should always have. To achieve this quality, I need to start undertaking daunting tasks and set a limited time frame to complete those within time. There is always stress if a time limit is put to complete a challenging task. So this can be helpful for me to learn stress management because it is important to do so.
Solving Problem
Problems are an integral part of both lives and organisations. Therefore, a true leader needs to have the ability to solve problems because it defines a great leader (Bozer and Jones, 2018). Mr. Pichai has always been a great problem solver which helps him to effectively manage a big organisation like Google. Therefore, it is important for me to understand the various issues I face in my daily life. I should also try to formulate the solutions to solve them quickly. I should also study books on problem solving skills to improve my abilities. It should also be noted that problem solving is considered one of the most important qualities a leader should have and improvising on it will be beneficial to me.
Time management
If an individual has to run an entire organisation and manage all the employees then that person needs to have a clear concept of time management (Aravena, 2019). Mr. Pichai has the ability to manage time very effectively, which makes him one of the most influential global leaders. Every organisational leader needs to have time management skills. In order to improve my time management skills, I need to focus on scheduling tasks in my daily lives and abide by the schedules made by me. This will give me a sense of accomplishment and will help me boost my confidence.
Hard work
Hard work is an important factor that defines the quality of a person. One person might not possess a quality initially but they can eventually if they put their maximum effort in possessing it (van Woerkom and Meyers, 2019). Mr. Pichai has put in a lot of hard work ever since he was a student and his hard work eventually paid off and established him as a global leader. Similarly, I also need to put my maximum effort in completing my tasks because hard work always pays off and it will be able to help me grow both personally and professionally. It will also be able to help me solve any issue without giving much effort into it.
Conclusion
It can be concluded that a 47 year old man has outstanding success story which can influence and inspire the people worldwide. The journey from ordinary man to the CEO of the Google in India is not easy task. It is clear from the case study posing both positive and negative skills was the opportunity and barrier to reach a ladder of success respectively. His skills such as operating skill, intellectual skill, hard work, problem solving, self confidence and other help to motivate employees and enable to execute the task easily. Be able to speak publicly enable to engage large masses and convey message efficiently. He has made the entire workspace of Google in the US and many parts of the world in an artistic manner. Introductions of several recreational activities during office hours make the employees focus more on the work. The conducted study has evaluated that having great leadership skills he easily communicate with large audience and employees. However, the negative skills such as visionary skills results to predict the thing lately. Nevertheless, the positive attributes of the Sundar Pichai act as a inspirational element to inspire the youngster. The reflection upon the experience of Sunder Pichai such as many ups and downs can enable youngster to become another big technological operator across the globe.
