1. Introduction
The present report is going to be on the discussion of the project management of Taunton warehouse of Supermarket X. Supermarket X is a retail company and they want to establish a warehouse in Taunton. The project management plan will be developed for these shifting, recruiting employees, managing employees transfer and many more tasks. This report is going to demonstrate the project life cycle theory to describe the background of managing a project. PRINCE2 methodology will be used for this project and the themes, principle and process of this methodology are going to be demonstrated. Some recommendations are going to be provided for the improvement of this project management of Taunton warehouse.
2. Main body
2.1 Systematic understanding of Project life cycle theory
Project life cycle theory demonstrates the steps involved with effective project management. In order to complete a project, it is essential to keep the main objective of the project in mind. As per this theory, effective project management involves the following steps:
Initiation
In the initiation stage of project lifecycle, the owner of the project or the project sponsor initiates the process. Project sponsors hire the project manager at this stage and describe the project details. As discussed by Shi (2019), project manager then forms a basic structure of the requirements and based on that project manager analyse the success of the Taunton warehouse project. Besides, in the initiation stage project managers describe the basic risk factors of Taunton warehouse project such that project sponsors can confirm the project considering the negative aspects of a project.
Planning
Planning stage is one of the most significant stages of a project manager as in this stage all the requirements of the project are arranged and planning of the work progress is produced. - PRINCE2 aims to understand the business case and set the methods according to that. In this case, Supermarket X is planning to initiate a new warehouse in Taunton which is going to be handled by the client. The shifting and managing of the warehouse is the main business case.
- The principle of this methodology is to learn from the experience. According to Esteki et al. (2020), in this project, many experienced people are associated with warehouse management. They will be involved and their experience will be essential for the completion of Taunton warehouse project.
- Defining roles and responsibility to the stakeholders is essential for PRINCE2 methodology. This project is going to distribute the responsibilities such as warehouse materials shifting to the stakeholders. Employee recruitment, training, logistics to the stakeholders (Vaníčková, 2017). Stakeholders such as project manager, project handling team, project sponsor and many more will be required for this project.
- One of the major principles is to manage the project by stages and for that the stages of the project need to be defined. In Taunton warehouse projects, the stages such as initiation, planning, execution, monitor, control, closure will be defined.
- Exceptional situations need to be managed by the project manager for this project. Considering the risk factors is essential for the PRINCE2 methodology and will be imperative for Taunton warehouse project. The risk factors such as budget, technical difficulties, time constraints, change in requirements and many more have to be considered by the project manager of Taunton project to analyse the risks.
- This methodology focuses on the products and for that purpose, all the stakeholders have to focus on the final objective of the project. The main objective of this project is to manage the warehouse, recruit employees, transfer of employees and a few others. These objectives need to be fulfilled by the project team.
- The environment of the project should be suitable for work and this principle needs to be taken by the project manager. As mentioned by Mousaei and Javdani (2018), all the facilities such as logistics and many more should be provided to the workers such that they do not feel any issues regarding the Taunton warehouse project work. Employees should be recruited by publishing suitable advertisements such that the recruiter does not face any difficulties.

- The requirements of this project need to be defined in this methodology and in this project the requirement is the expansion of supermarket X The warehouse extension is required as the business capacity of Supermarket X has increased and for that supermarket X will initiate the project.
- Supermarket X is the project sponsor and thus the main organization behind this project. They have given the responsibility of warehouse management, employee recruitment, logistics and employee transfer responsibility to the clients (Krysiński and Miller, 2016).
- As it will be the storehouse of the company effective employees must work here with an advanced inventory management system. Therefore, following this methodology Taunton warehouse project needed to be a high-quality project.
- This methodology supports planning of the project before execution of work and for that management of Supermarket X and the client need to make a plan for the execution of the project.
- Project manager of this Taunton warehouse will be responsible for the risk assessment of this project. As depicted by Jaziri et al. (2018), project managers need to consider all the risk factors such as technical difficulties, time constraints, unavailability of logistics and many more at the planning stage of the project. If any risks occur in this project an alternative plan has to be made by the project manager to mitigate these risk factors.
- The project management team needs to be prepared for any changes in this project such as change in requirements or change management for the development of the project (Naik and Jenkins, 2019).
- Progress or the continuous development of the project is essential for achieving the aims of this project. There are many sub tasks associated with Taunton warehouse projects such as recruitment, employee transfer and many others. Hence, PRINCE 2 methodology will be used in case of Taunton warehouse construction.

Principles
PRINCE 2 methodologies includes forms of themes, principles and processes. These are entirely directed towards the creation of a project. Major principles of this methodology include continued business justification of the business case that is the creation of Taunton warehouse. This is a $3.5 million project and is required to be completed by September 2020. With the help of this methodology, project managers can easily describe all the responsibilities and roles present in the project. The entire project will be managed with the help of stages and the major focus will be on the project itself. Exception management is one of the most integral parts of this methodology (Hughes et al. 2017).

Major themes in case of PRINCE 2 methodology includes a study of the business case, this is related to the creation of Waterhouse by September 2020. Organisation of the entire project will be mostly done by the project manager and stakeholders of the project. Progress report of the Taunton warehouse will be produced in a timely manner as well in case of PRINCE 2.

There are 7 processes included in the PRINCE 2 methodology; these processes are significant in order to successfully create a project. In case of creating Taunton warehouse for Supermarket X, these 7 processes are required to be followed.
Starting of the project includes the analysis and design phase which is important in this case. Since the project is related to creation of a warehouse for 400 stores which will help 32000 staff for accommodating 9 million customers, expert planning is required.
This project will be entirely directed by the project manager and the project expert. Stakeholders and sponsors will play a significant role in this project. As per Ng (2018), project direction is one of the most significant aspects of this project.
Project initiation is related to the starting of the project, all the design and requirement has already been done following the PRINCE 2 methodology and the project has already started in March 2020. Based on Hughes et al. (2020), monitoring activities in a project generally starts from the initiation stage.
Stage Boundary maintenance is significant since, in order to meet the project timeline and schedule, creation of milestones are required. This is entirely the responsibility of the project manager.
Controlling stage is related to project evaluation and control which is the key aspect in case of quality assurance of a project. As per Joslin and Müller (2020), PRINCE 2 methodology critically emphasises on this aspect of the project.
Project delivery management is essential as the project manager is required to check each individual aspect of the rejection. The project cannot be deployed with any kind of incomplete and bad quality work. Project closure is estimated to be done in September 2020.

3. Conclusion
Based on the above discussion it has been seen that project life cycle theory guides the Taunton warehouse project. It has been seen that as project sponsor Supermarket X needs to allocate the budget and initiate the project management procedure. The project life cycle stages such as initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closure have been described for the Taunton warehouse project. From the above discussion, it has been found that PRINCE2 methodology follows strict principles for the project management and it instructs project managers to divide the responsibility among the stakeholders. Besides, it has been seen that the Taunton warehouse project has sub-tasks such as employee recruitment, warehouse management, employee transfer and many more. It has been addressed that the processes of PRINCE2 methodology are suitable for Taunton warehouse to get the effective result within the time and budget required.
