At the same time, leaders can be successful project managers (Baker, 2020). Thus, organizations need successful project managers are also efficient leader. For successfully manage projects, a leader has to use their qualities and explore new required qualities as well. The leader should be an emotional intelligent, consider ethics in their actions. Further, they should able to communicate and influence their employees towards project goals. In addition to this, a leader should follow transformational leadership theory while lead their team. Other than that, expertise in technology is must in today’s time as it makes their leadership effective. The imminent effects of leadership qualities are required while managing important activity related to project planning, organizing, managing resources, implementing, monitoring, and control the outcomes of the project (Bickley, 2019). Further, they are responsible to improve previous actions and its outcomes effectively. The success of any project depends on the structure of teams and their performances are as per the guidance of high skill and the ethical leader.
The present report exploring leadership qualities for successful project management. For this purpose, multiple sources are collected and determine theme to discuss required qualities. First theme is about emotional intelligence as a leader should behave rationally and consider their employees feelings and suggestions in decision-making process. Second theme suggest that the leader should follow transformational leadership theory while lead their team as it is one of the best leadership theories which consider employees as a valuable resource. Third theme is about ethics which is the most important quality of leadership as they are responsible to influence their employees and they have to behave ethically to make work environment positive and ethically fit. Fourth theme is to influence employees and their manager in order to affect project performance and get best result. Last them is about technological skills which should adopt to leaders as it makes their leadership effective and easy to manage. These five themes demonstrate required quality for successful project management. Thus, it can conclude that leaders are important for any project as they facilitate entire project operations and can get expected outcomes along with ensure effective project success, employee development, and organizational growth
