To Investigate the Ductility in Reinforced Concrete
Introduction
In the construction, the strength and ductility of the concrete is based on the feature of the confinement provided by the level of the lateral reinforcement. Concrete can be defined as a kind of brittle material because of its low tensile strain, capacity and also its poor fracture toughness. However, it is very durable material. The reinforce concrete seems to be very effective for capturing the cracks in both micro and macro manner. The use of a combination of one or more forms of hybrid material is a most optimized manner (Eswari et al., 2008). The concrete mixture is helpful in producing the composite in a better form of engineering properties in contrast to individual fiber. The ductility of the reinforced concrete is a concerning aspect in the construction sector because the life of the construction depends on the strength and ductility of the reinforced concrete. Reinforced concrete is also used in the manufacturing of the cement. The researcher and investigators are engaged in the investigation of ductility of the reinforced concrete. That is essential mitigate the issues that companies and builder face in the construction work.
The main aim of the project is to investigate the strength and weakness of ductility in reinforced concrete. In order to achieve this aim, the below research objective will also achieve:
- To study the different level of the ductility in reinforced concrete
- To under understand the relationship of the strength and ductility of reinforced concrete
- To investigate the elements that play an effective role in the ductility of reinforced concrete
The completion of this research study has a wide scope for the companies that are engaged in the construction sector. In order to completion of a construction project, there is need to investigate all the elements effective that will include in the project (Altun and Aktaş, 2013). This research study is helpful to improve the performance of the reinforced concrete in the construction. It is because the life of the construction depends on the ingredients that are used in the construction.
The quality of construction can also be analyzed by the use of the investigation of ductility in reinforcing concrete. All the specimens of the reinforce concrete are taken to provide the original outcome or effective investigation of the concentration project. The reinforced concrete should effective in the construction project because it affects the project in at micro and macro level. The ductility in reinforced concrete is also investigated by the constructor to evaluate the quality level of the concentration. The high quality is preferred in the construction that can get by the use of ductility in reinforced concrete. The reinforced concrete increases the capacity of loading in the structure and this investigation helps to reduce the chances of failure. Most of the time, the investigator of ductility in reinforced concrete provides right direction to reduce the chances of failure by the use of past knowledge (Hawileh et al., 2014). Along with this, the ductility in reinforced concrete is also important to reduce the crack and deflection in the construction.
The purpose is to examine or investigate the ductility performance in reinforced concrete. The research approach is one of the essential parts of research methodology that help the researcher in determining that which research method is suitable for collecting the relevant and accurate information to a large extent. There are three different types of research approaches such as qualitative research method, quantitative research method and mixed research method which researcher can use for collecting the data or information. In addition, Neuman (2013) also stated that qualitative research method is used for collecting the theoretical knowledge whereas quantitative research method helps in gathering data in numerical form i.e., in a practical manner. Further, mixed research method helps in collecting both quantitative and qualitative data in an efficient manner (Bernard, 2017). For this research study, quantitative research method will be used by the researcher as this will help in collecting some practical knowledge in an efficient manner. The use of quantitative research method will help the researcher to test and measure the performance level of ductility in reinforcing concrete. In other words, this research method will also help in representing the data into table or graph format in order to make it easy for a researcher for doing a proper investigation.
The project will deliver the valuable and meaningful output that will influence the overall outcome in a positive manner. This project study will be very fruitful for the researcher as this help in identifying and examining the ductility of reinforced concrete. Moreover, this study will deliver valuable information which another researcher can use as an additional for completing their research work. On the other side, this study will also provide strength to the further researcher as this study will help in him to demonstrate the new result outcome with an existing outcome.
This research project will get completed by the researcher within few weeks.

Resources required
In order to complete this research product, the research has required to some significant equipment and tools. In this, the research needs to some stationary items. At the same time, it also needs the computer or laptop with internet to collect the secondary data. In order to analyze the data, it is also possible that the research has required the software that is able to analyze data (Senthil et al., 2016). This paper will also highlight the equipment which will be set up i.e., flexure test that will help the researcher in investigating the ductility performance. In addition, a proper budget set of resources is $200 for purchasing the resources and material which are required for testing the ductility in reinforced concrete.
