1.0 Introduction
The “global business environment” is a term that can be referred to as the environment of different countries that are having factors that are exogenous to the actual environment of the company. It influences the process of decision-making of the organisation that is mainly based on the capabilities as well as usage of the resources. In this reflective report, I have tried to discuss the self-awareness that is providing the students with the opportunity to identify the strengths as well as weaknesses myself. In addition to that, with the help of this module, I have been able to understand the importance of teamwork.
2.0 Self-awareness
Self-awareness can be defined as the ability in order to put the entire focus on myself or the actions that are taken by me and to not let myself do something that can be harmful to me. This module of global business has been very helpful for me as it has helped me to be self-aware. It has helped me to make decisions or think about a project the ways my classmates do. In addition to that, this module has also helped me understand what my classmates have been able to understand by learning this module (Bhagra and Sharma, 2018). I have addressed that skills of resolution and conflict management are my major strengths.
In contrast, I have been able to identify my core weaknesses, which is a lack of verbal communication skills. If I am able to work on my weaknesses they can be proved helpful for me in order to improve my business skills in future.
3.0 Teamwork
Teamwork simply means a collaborative effort from a group of people that are having the same goal. There are several difficulties that are faced by people while working in a group as it affects the efficiency of the people (Driskell et al. 2018). With the help of this module, I have understood that there can be people of different religion, different culture even from different countries but in order to work in a group I need to avoid those differences and work as a complete team. As per my knowledge, the biggest issue faced by people while doing teamwork is lack of communications.
4.0 Perspective of culture
The perspective of culture refers to a particular way that is used to shape an individual by their environment and the cultural as well as social factors. The perspective of Cultural has become one of the barriers when someone works in a team. This module has helped me to understand that there can be certain similarities as well as differences in culture. One similarity of the culture is each and every one of them has a competitive spirit (Hacioglu and Sevgilioglu, 2019). On the other hand, one difference in culture is that people of different countries speak different languages. Speaking different languages can have influences on teamwork as per my perspective.
5.0 Research skills
The research skills can be considered as the ability to successfully fulfil the objectives as well as finding the answers to the questions of the research. In addition to that, a skilled researcher is responsible for collecting all the information that is needed about the particular research topic (Keivanpour et al. 2017). With the help of this module, I have understood that it is very important to cite or in text a proper source for any kind of information that has been collected from any particular source. It has helped me to be able to do authentic in-texting.
6.0 Personal development plan
A personal development plan can be considered as the process to create an action plan on the basis of values, awareness, goal-setting, reflection as well as planning for developing myself. Personal development plans are mainly prepared for self-improvement. As I am giving lack communication skills hence; I am needed to develop a personal development plan (Kokodey et al. 2018). I have planets to watch YouTube videos, talk to my professors and do some research on an appropriate communication skill that will help me to improve myself.
7.0 Conclusion
It can be concluded after analysing this reflective report that it deals with the global business environment and the impact of cultural differences in business. The main issue that has been identified in this report is regarding communication. This issue is needed to be mitigated by me by developing a plan that will help me to change myself.
