Infosys is a multinational company established in India which provides consulting services to various kinds of Information Technology (IT) services and even helps in providing outsourcing to the companies. Furthermore, the company from 250 dollars revenue grew to 16.97 billion dollars that helps in making market capitalisation effectively and the company presently reached to 77.88 billion dollars company (Infosys.com. 2022).
The company has flourished in 50 countries and the company has over 335,000 employees and more than a thousand trusted clients of the company which helps the company to manage its stability. Infosys has managed the investors’ relations well for managing the corporate governance by better management and the company helps digital operating models to manage the working of the company.
Analyse the strategy of the organisation utilising the range of content
The purpose of Infosys is to understand the human potential and understand the opportunity management for people, businesses and communities by providing digital services consulting to companies. Additionally, the corporate strategy helps in managing the corporate governance of the organisation and at the same time, it allows the organisation to understand effective working in a better way.
The corporate level strategy is a multi-level strategy followed by the company to understand the specific business goals that provide the leaders with better management of the organisation. The corporate level strategy helps companies similar to Infosys in managing the outsourcing and helps other companies to work well through the help of effective digitalisation by managing the skills of the employees well.
Corporate management helps in managing the business development with the implementation of effective strategies for managing the competitiveness of the organisation quite well for managing the responsiveness of the business development (Wadström, 2018).
The corporate strategy provides the organisation to look at the stability strategy and managing the expansion strategy by looking after the management and development of the organisation effectively. In addition to that, the working of the company is based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) which helps in executing the plan of the organisation and managing the employee performance for the better development of the organisation effectively.
The management of the corporate strategies of the organisation provides the organisation to understand of the core competencies of the employees which helps in managing the diversification effectively through better approaches (Galpin, 2019).
The company also has incorporated a retrenchment strategy through the help of a combination strategy that allows the organisation to manage its expenses and provides better market development. Thus, the organisational revenue management has provided the company to flourish well and it has provided the company to globally expand without any kind of hindrances.

Infosys being identified as a global company due to its expansion to the global market flourishingly has helped the company to increase the revenue collection so well. Furthermore, the company believes in sustainability and operational excellence by managing Environment, Health, Safety and Quality (EHSQ) for the company’s development for managing corporate strategy development quite well .
The value chain framework helps in the better development of the organisation by understanding both primary and support activities which allow for understanding the operational management of the organisation. The value chain model provides an understanding of the data management of the organisation and in managing the decision-making management for managing better business development for obtaining better results (Faroukhi et al., 2020).
The primary activities include inbound and outbound logistics, operations, marketing and sales and services and the support activities include firm infrastructure, Human Resource Management (HRM), technology development and procurement and all of this helps in understanding the firm’s management effectively.
The revenue collection of the organisation involves 16.97 billion dollars which helps in better infrastructural development of the organisation and effective training and management of the employees through HRM and the digitisation process of the organisation has helped various kinds of IT companies to reach goals in a much better way .
The company’s financial management provides the organisation to implement comprehensive strategy development by managing the strategic value chain for the developmental management well (Nauhria et al., 2018).
The company has to look after that in order to manage the inbound logistics and even the outbound logistics system of the company depends on the number of clients the company has and the products and goods development helps in managing the transportation through sales and marketing.
Moreover, the sustainable practice of the organisation depends highly on effective management and it helps in effective manufacturing of the firms for better development of the organisation (Pande and Adil, 2019). The sales of the company depend on the outsourcing facilities which the company provides to the clients of various kinds of IT sectors and employee engagement helps in managing the services of the organisation quite well.
All the primary activities of the company become effectively possible by managing the support activities by providing digitalisation of the firm and making the services of the firm flexible. However, the management of the diversity of the employees through the global market and in serving various kinds of consumers requires better management of the HR that helps in managing the logistics system of the company to develop the company well.
The company manages the supplier management by mitigating the challenges through sustainable product development by managing the value chain flexibility by implementing effective policies and guidelines for the company (Dwivedi et al., 2021).
The leadership management of the company has been well which has put the company to develop a better market by managing the organisational culture for effective development of the company to put itself in a better global arena.
Identifying the challenges, transformation or the merger and acquisition that has affected the organisation
Recently the biggest challenge faced by the company has been the emergence of the pandemic as the executives have been extremely concerned regarding the duration of the pandemic, a statement provided by the chief executive of Infosys, Salil Parekh.
The entire Information Technology (IT) industry had to go through revolutionary changes as a result of it since the work culture had to become remote and, in that context, the company has faced significant challenges to implement such a work environment and pivot their resources to the new demands of the clients (Economictimes.indiatimes.com. 2022).
Research has suggested that in recent times due to the outbreak of the pandemic remote working has become the new normal, especially within the IT industry mostly retaining the workforce and transforming the entire work culture into a remote one has caused significant challenges for these enterprises too (Prasad et al., 2020).
In the context of Merger and Acquisition (M&A), they have completed the acquisition of Oddity a digital marketing agency based in Germany and the acquisition has further helped Infosys to enhance its branding, creativity along with design-capabilities to help the clients to strengthen their digital transformation journey (Infosys.com. 2022).
According to research, Infosys had also acquired Panaya and the news had become a matter of great controversy at the time that showed the reality of M&A in which the big corporations dominate the small players within the industry (Vij, 2017).
Moreover, the company’s transformation journey with the implementation of the Live Enterprise Model which is based on practical experiences helped the corporation to show great resilience during the pandemic and their operational excellence has also transformed which increased their client-value score to the highest margin between 2017-2020 (Leavy, 2021).

The leadership capability of the corporation is a remarkable one as it has been discovered that the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Infosys Narayan Murthy abides by 5 fundamental core principles of leadership that have facilitated the organisation to grow exponentially and avoid multiple challenges.
In that context, within the first decade, the company showed an unimpressive earning of only 3.89 million, however, in the next few years with the help of strong leadership its valuation grew up to 10 billion dollars in 2004-2005 by transforming into the 2nd largest IT corporation in India (Mehta et al., 2020).
However, it has also come to light that the company had started a practice of salary freeze that significantly impacted an organisation’s capability to retain and attract talent and, in that year, namely 2013 their biggest competitor TCS won by a great margin (Singh and Kataria, 2021).
Although soon after the severe loss faced by the corporation the company made major structural changes within their management in 2013 and 2014 they dismissed its council of top executives that was perceived to be the company’s most influential decision-making body (Singh and Kataria, 2021).
Moreover, it has also come to light that the leadership style shown by the CEO of Infosys, Narayan Murthy is a servant leadership style and the individual has created other excellent leaders too, namely Nandan Nilekani, a non-executive chairman of the company and it is safe to say that it is an efficiency leadership style (Mishra and Mahapatra, 2019).

Communication is one of the most vital aspects of having a successful corporation and all global organisations take relevant approaches to perfect the practice as they employ geographically dispersed teams who have different cultural backgrounds.

After the occurrence of the pandemic as the work culture became remote, communication also became significantly critical as there was an extreme need to develop optimism and confidence amongst employees and for that Infosys made the use of the InfyMe App mandatory to connect all employees of the corporation (Shankar, 2020).
This given application has further helped the employees of Infosys to obtain the latest information and updates from the advisories, and company policies along with other benefits and simultaneously allowing them to declare their health status by themselves (Shankar, 2020).
It may be fundamentally implied that the issues with communication that emerged as a result of the pandemic have been solved by the IT companies including with the help of digital communication models. However, research stated that such digital communication technologies are known to capture the leisure time of individuals and along with that compromise their privacy and demand relatively longer hours of engagement from them (Chattopadhyay and Pandit, 2021).
Organisational culture
A thriving and positive organisational culture is another imperative aspect for creating a successful business in which employees obtain significant job satisfaction and that is a positive resource for retaining talent. Infosys is known to be an employee-oriented corporation meaning that they listen to their employees with great enthusiasm and they provide significant value to them which is evident by the fact that Infosys was the first-ever corporation to show their employees as assets in their annual report (Mamatha and Geetanjali, 2020).
On the other hand, as a part of its transformation journey, Infosys has also been known to cultivate a culture of digital technologies that they are utilising effectively to enhance customer experience and also increase overall productivity within the enterprise (Kavanaugh, 2020).
In addition to that, to create a positive organisational culture and provide job satisfaction to their employees, many Indian IT corporations including Infosys have allowed their employees who were working overseas to fly back to India during the pandemic to help them be with their families (Mythili et al., 2021).
Relevant changes have also been seen within the enterprise as a result of the pandemic as the management has decided to implement approaches to care for the health of the employees and make the work culture remote as reportedly 93% of the company’s global workforce has been asked to work-from-home (Infosys.com. 2022).
Discussing the organisational strategy that impacts the organisational challenges
It is safe to say that the strategies adopted by the company have helped Infosys to mitigate several challenges concerning their unimpressive revenue in the initial years to the recent digital transformation required to handle a global workforce during the pandemic. It needs to be mentioned that at the beginning of 2020, an overall recovery has been made concerning the major stock exchange and that led to both BSE and NSE being traded at the highest level which hit the peaks of 42,273 and 12,362 respectively (Kumar and Kumara, 2021).
One of the organisational strategies that the company had taken to hold its strong position during the pandemic is restricting some of its employees to work remotely amidst the pandemic as those individuals are known to handle some of the most critical clients and that way Infosys has ensured to provide the best service possible to their customers (Ramasamy, 2020).
On the other hand, it has also been discovered that the effective strategies integrated by Infosys during the pandemic have led the corporation to remain in a strong and safe position as of 2021 in comparison to other organisations within the similar category of the corporation (Patra and Das, 2021).
Furthermore, another piece of literature has also revealed that amongst the plethora of corporations, Infosys has been regarded to be the least volatile against the pandemic as the corporation has shown effective resilience with the help of the strategies implemented by the corporation during that time (Vikram et al., 2022). In addition to that, it also needs to be established that the pandemic has not affected the business of the company significantly as they had already implemented some of the most effective strategies.
According to research, no noticeable difference has been prominent between the movements of share prices of the company and the announcement of the pandemic did not leave any impact on the company’s share prices too (Seenivasan and Kumar, 2021).
Therefore, from this given analysis, it may be derived that the strategies that the company has implemented have shown significant results to Infosys amidst the pandemic and as a result of their transformation journey.
Critically discuss the impact of challenges of managing the organisational strategy
It has already been mentioned that relevant strategies had to be implemented to handle the new and evolving situation and, in that context, the corporation had to experience certain challenges for integrating the same and especially transforming their entire work culture amidst the pandemic.
Therefore, some new policies and Covid-19 protocols had to be implemented to ensure that the corporation grows significant resilience during such daunting times. According to research, several IT corporations within India including Infosys have been predicted to be impacted the most by the sudden occurrence of the pandemic by the lessened spending on technology from clients in the USA and the European continent as a result of global lockdowns (Dhillon, 2020).
However, the implementation of relevant Human Resource (HR) policies has contributed greatly to the mitigation of several challenges faced by the entire IT industry in recent times. Research has stated that the three fundamental attributes established by the HR department during the lockdowns are creativity, agility and flexibility and the HR functions have been found to escalate the concrete office walls into virtual workstations and they also had to follow certain guidelines to ensure hassle-free remote work for employees (Dutta and Chatterjee, 2021).
Moreover, the HR departments of various tech giants that are operating within India such as Infosys and more, are enabling these corporations to accelerate the profits acquired by these corporations as the entire work culture is being conducted through the means of telecommunication, saving substantial resources otherwise required to maintain office-infrastructure (Sharma, 2021). n addition to that, mainly the implementation of different types of digital technologies has become prevalent even more during the transformational phase of the corporation to handle their workload significantly more effectively. Conversational Artificial Intelligence (AI)bots have been known to play a significant role to automate some tedious tasks by helping employees to acquire real-time access to a plethora of information which has further facilitated they’re to increase their productivity (The Indian Express. 2022).
Apart from that, the digital transformation has not been implemented without providing relevant training to the employees of the corporation and for that, the HR department of Infosys has played a significant role to ensure that the entire workforce is accustomed to such changes for maintaining the overall productivity of the organisation.
It has been established by research that effective training programs and reward systems for employees are known to influence and significantly improve the commitment employees show toward an organisation (Mihardjo et al., 2020). Moreover, the company has also maintained to abide by all safety rules and regulations regarding the pandemic within their office premises in case any employee visits the same during the remote working period for executing work for some of the most important clients of the organisation (Infosys.com. 2022).
Therefore, it may be established that a significant number of relevant and new policies had to be implemented by the organisation to adapt to the changing environment and some of the changes were quite challenging as well.

Finally, it may be concluded that Infosys is known to be the 2nd largest IT corporation in India and has substantial resources concerning finance and human resources the company also has several offices across the globe. However, the emergence of the pandemic has led the company to face relevant challenges similar to other corporations across the globe and for that, they have taken relevant measures to mitigate the issues.
However, the above discussion has also highlighted that the implemented measures by Infosys have led the company to show great resilience toward the organisational changes.
