Industrial placements are regarded as an extended period of work experience that is undertaken by the students of the university and they intend to look to supplement their degree with professional enhancement. With the help of industrial placement, a person becomes capable of preparing themselves for a workplace and enhancing their academic and practical skills (researchgate.net 2022). I am pursuing MBA with an inordinate opportunity establish my career through effective placement programme. Here in this placement program, I am given with the scope to engage with a renowned corporate company. I believe that working in a private sector organization, as an assistant store manager will help me to meet the criteria to be an efficient employee. As per my understanding there, my job role will be to enhance the satisfaction of the consumers, train and recruit employees as well as help the salesperson to manage consumer questions.

Before being connected to the large corporate organization, I feel working, as a store manager in a well-organized workplace that is also associated with a private sector industry will be helpful. From that employment, I will be able to know about the facts that are mainly related to the work of store manager. The learning experiences that I will gather during my employment will include communication skills and the ability to handle the consumer’s questions. However, I believe it would put me in a competitive position to be more focused on the future objectives of my career.

From the placement program, I am willing to adopt the skills that I lack including communication, leadership skills, patience under pressure, consumer service skills, critical thinking skills, accountability skills, and problem-solving skills. There are ample jobs that I think would be available to me after the placement that includes finance advisor, HR Manager, sales manager, business analyst, and business development manager. Part B: Reflective Diary of Placement Experience

  1. As per my understanding, being hired in the corporate industry for industrial placement, I will need to learn various types of processes as well as strategies that are utilized in the corporate industry. As the store management is considered to be the activity of overseeing and running all operations in a store of the respective industry, therefore, being adoptive is very crucial. Managing the workers, generation of work schedules, interaction with suppliers and dealing with the consumer complaints are some of the prime responsibilities of assistant store manager. Hence, an effective communication skill is the best fit for an assistant store manager(magestore.com 2022).

Store management is considered to be very crucial aspect in terms of establishing in the professional career in a corporate site. As assistant store manager, I will be provided with the opportunity to gather knowledge about various strategies that are used in order to manage the overall process. Additionally, I will engage with recruiting and offering training to the employees who were provided with the duties of the store. Therefore, I believe, ability to delegate and effective communication skills will be crucial to manage the staff in the store. However, I firmly believe, that my educational experience along with my personal skills have instil the criteria to be an optimal choice for the employment as a store manager. My daily responsibility in the respective form will be to make schedules and offer tasks and responsibilities in order to maintain smooth operations.

I will be accustomed with the fact that a store manager’s responsibility is very high and in demand in the aspect of the corporate industry. Furthermore, after being appointed in the respective firm, I will be able to manage more effectively the store employees and others. Moreover, it will provide me the opportunity to motivate staff on a regular basis so that they are able to fulfil the target of sales and attract various customers in order to fulfil their expectations.

Furthermore, I will also prove with the option to understand several methods that are associated with the project delivery, which includes design-build multi-prime, design-bid-build and integrated project delivery method. However, proper and efficiency of delivery of the final project is required during the completion of a project. Therefore, it has been acknowledged that there is no determinant project delivery method, but selecting the appropriate one for a successful project allows minimizing risks, developing a schedule as well as keeping the budget on track. Furthermore, the utilization of a matrix for making decisions may enable to choice of the appropriate method (indeed.com 2022).

  1. In the respective placement program, I would prefer to get appointed as the manager of the store as well as the delivery of the project in an appropriate manner. After working in the respective private sector industry, I will be able to know about several challenges that the organization is face in real-life project planning. I have several times encountered that due to poor productivity in the organization as the employees are not motivated clearly, by the store manager, the sales and profitability also suffers. Furthermore, several times it has been estimated that the employees are not offered enough remuneration. Furthermore, there is growing evidence; organizations are failing to experience success due to poor project performance as the experienced employees lacked knowledge in taking appropriate strategies.

One of the main challenges in this project is shortage of experienced labours for the overall management of the retail store (resources.workable.com 2022). Furthermore, the staffs are found to be unable to satisfy the consumers effectively as their communication power is not so excellent (Kaila 2021). The solution is to motivate the employees, to recruit high skilled labourers as well as a selection of proper project delivery methods.

My daily task as a store manager will include making schedules and offer tasks and responsibilities in order to maintain smooth operations (Kasi et al. 2020).After doing the project, I will be able to adopt various skills including problem-solving skills, decision-making skills, management and leadership skill, strategic thinking, and planning skills. Furthermore, I will also able to develop my strategic thinking and planning, innovative power, interpersonal skills, communication skills, power of resilience, professional commitment, and commercial awareness which is necessary to excel in my career.

With my decision-making skills, communication skills, and leadership management skills, I will be able to perform the operations of the store in effective manner.

  1. The future placement as a store manager will help me to develop the managerial skills for managing complex project in an effective manner. I will get to experience various real incidents when the employees are agitated for not offering them enough remuneration. However, instead of being agitated, I will try to solve the issues in an inordinate manner with the help of my leadership and working under pressure skill. Furthermore, communication skills, the ability to delegate, thinking skills, and accountability skills will allow me to mitigate the organizational challenges with real-life business solutions.References
