Introduction
This study mainly describes the professional plan based on experience. The main highlighting part of this study is to demonstrate the professional development plan through the help of the SMART goal setting. These goals help me to understand the way I develop the project plan. Besides this study also focuses on the several types of activities that enhance the project performance. With the help of the learning log activity, it measures the project risk for future purposes.
Reflective plan of Continuous Professional Development
Before starting this project work I read several types of sources such as books, journals, and articles to accumulate the knowledge for the project operation purpose. Besides with the help of these sources I understand in a way project managers construct the project operation successfully.
In the universities, I engage in the project work and I experience several types of responsibilities that the project manager takes to make the project work significantly. This type of experience enhances my professional skills (Al-Busaidi et al. 2021). From this experience, I learned types of tasks that are based on the project management purpose such as organizing the project work, leading the project work, managing the project work, and lastly directing the project work properly.
From the past experience, I learned the way project managers make a blueprint of the project work that guides them to execute the project work in a given time frame. In the university, I did several types of academic assignments that provided me with knowledge in a way I chose the project objectives that support the project work in the future.
On the other hand, I also gained practical knowledge on the software implication to accomplish the project work perfectly. From the resources analysis, I learn several types of skills that help me to develop the project work properly (Little and McMillan, 2019). Therefore in this case I learned in a way leadership skills to help me to manage the task of the project’s purpose and also maintain the people of the project work.
Alternatively, I also build the communication skills that give me a clear picture to interact with the vendors as well as contractors for the project purpose. On the other hand, the sources also develop the management skills that help me to make a project schedule in the upcoming days. Alternatively, say that this kind of source also assists me to enhance my creative skill.
With the help of the creative skill, it helps me to make a proper cost plan for the project operation purpose.
Therefore this past experience helps me to develop my career as a project manager. Hence this type of experience skill helps me to fulfill my workplace goal. On the other hand, this type of past experience skill also enhances my professional goal that defines my current position in the organisation. This project proposal helps me to improve my interaction process with the co-workers in the office area.
With the help of the feedback session and the advanced practices, I develop my communication process with my project team members. Alternatively says that this project proposal also helps fulfill future goals such as it develops my lifelong learning system. Besides this experience skill also defines the influence of communities as well as the society’s activities in the project purpose (Hanfstinglet al. 2020).
In the university, the task and the project work also give an idea that project proposals also enhance the market sustainability. Besides this past activity also gives me an idea about my strengths and weaknesses side that create an impact on the project proposal purpose. On the other hand, experience also improved my teamwork skill in the future.
Therefore this type of activity helps me to set up the project proposal goals with the help of the planning of the proper time frame. Therefore in the SMART framework, it defines the objectives of the project proposal. In this project proposal purpose, I confront several types of ethical issues of the project management purpose. Several types of ethical issues are described such as conflict issues, workplace cultural issues, and working condition issues. Therefore these types of issues reduce the project opportunity as well as the scope in the future. Alternatively, describe that these ethical issues also change the business environment in the upcoming days.
In the project proposal purpose, the first ethical issue I face is the conflict between the team members. For that reason, it decreases the project quality. On the other side, it also demonstrates that these issues also reduce the value of the project proposal. In the university, during my project time, I also understand the knowledge about the cultural problem in the working sectors that hamper the team-members working ability.
Due to this reason, it also affects their working efficiency in the working purpose. From the academic assignment, I also learned that project managers find out the best way to solve the safety problem in the working area ( Tologonovaet al 2021).
Besides the resources, I also know that legal and social issues also affect the project work. The social issues include the gender disparity problem, religious problem, and educational qualification issues. Therefore these types of social problems also affect the project’s aims and objectives.
On the other hand, it defines that this type of social issue affects the team collaboration approaches in the project purpose. From the academic task, I also accumulate information on the various types of legal issues such as working wages issues, working overtime issues, employment status issues, and privacy issues that are also effective measures of the project proposal. Therefore this type of effective measure.

Proposal of the Project
1. Introduction
1.1Background
Here the project work is focused on the identification of the effects of BIM technology in the construction industry of the UK. Present days are highly advanced with different technological revolutions and BIM is one of such technological innovations. BIM denotes building information modeling that is used in the construction industry to make the work technologically advanced. This technology helps mainly the engineers and architects for designing, planning any building (Li et al. 2019).
BIM technology helps engineers and architects to observe the 3D model of their plans from the 2D models. BIM can help to store different data related to the planning of the building that helps later to re-establish a model BIM can help in every possible way to illustrate the life cycle of the buildings by analysing every stored data.
This can suggest how a building can be designed in a sustainable way and how the materials can be recycled. Different reports have revealed that approx. 73% of construction companies are using BIM technology in their designing and planning model (pbctoday.co.uk, 2021). Different architectural magazines have revealed that within 2018 approx. 45% of the architectural firms use BIM technology for establishing their projects (landscapearchitecturemagazine.org, 2021).
BIM adoption rate is increasing as there is an increasing rate of AI or artificial intelligence in the industry of construction. Different results have shown that the use of AI in the construction market is 35.1% approximately. That is why this affects the construction market of the UK and this accelerates the growth of the use of BIM in the construction industry by 73% from 2011 to 2020 (statista.com, 2021).

Using BIM in the construction project the work can be faster with lesser waste. This enables the scopes for the engineers and architects to make a plan and observe the growth of the plan online and can communicate with each other without coming on the site (Acquah et al. 2018).
This technology can guide the designers by providing previous digital records. Therefore, the designers can be more careful and can successfully plan a sustainable model by visualizing the space.
1.2Aim and Objectives
This project proposal aims to identify the impacts of BIM technology on the construction operations of the UK market of construction.
The project researchers have set some objectives to meet the aim of this project. These are,

- To examines the dimensions of BIM technology that impacts a construction project
- To evaluate the efficiency of BIM technology in the construction operation of the UK construction market.
1.3Rationale
BIM is an advanced technology that is a type of artificial intelligence that enhances the quality of the construction process. This can help to design the plans with lower energy consumption and this is very much helpful to reduce the footprints of carbon. BIM can reduce the wastage of materials and energies as this can store detailed data of different aspects (Li et al. 2019).
Thus, BIM makes the execution of construction projects cost-effective. BIM can help engineers and architects visualize the 2D design in a 3D way. That is why they can observe detailed views and spaces in that plan, which can make the planning faster and more effective. This feature is also helpful in the present context of the pandemic as this reduces the purpose of gathering on site of the construction.
The engineers and architects can visualize the site and make the plan by communicating with each other online. Therefore, they can maintain physical distance as per the rules and regulations for Covid 19 outbreak, but the work can go on with the use of advanced technology (Ogunnusiet al. 2020). By reducing energy waste BIM can guide the engineers to utilise the water supply, heat generation, and sunlight utilisation in a proper way (Lu et al. 2017).
This is helpful for increasing the sustainability in the construction projects. Thus, green building projects are enhanced with more accurate planning.

The consciousness regarding the sustainable design of the constructions has been increased in recent times and by the sudden outbreak of Covid 19. Domestic building and non-domestic building constructions contribute 36% of carbon emission through energy consumption and 39% of carbon emission from process-related operations (iea.org, 2021).
A high rate of carbon emission in the environment causes increasing effects of global warming. That is why the green building concept is increasing in the market of construction, where BIM acts like a very useful technology. For this, the project proposal is presented to evaluate the impacts of BIM technology in the construction project of the UK.
1.4Significance
BIM is an important and useful technology in the present industry as all the industries are based on technology due to the 4th industrial revolution of the global industries. The importance of sustainable models of construction has increased after the sudden outbreak of Covid 19. That is why there is a huge change in the construction industry in the last year that enhances the usefulness of building information modeling or BIM technology.
That is why this project proposal aims to identify the impacts of BIM technology in the construction projects of the UK as there is high carbon emission caused due to traditional construction procedures. In addition, the lockdown time hampers the construction business, which needs to enhance its growth by utilising advanced technologies in the process.
2. Literature Review
2.1Introduction
This part of the project research proposal presents the outcomes of the study of the literature by the project team members. The literature review helps the participants to gather knowledge about the theories, models, mechanisms, and different previous studies regarding the topic. This helps them to know what has already been done by the previous research works and what the impacts were.
Then they can find out the gap in the literature that is very helpful to identify the focus point of the research proposal. The relevant and valid focus point of the research proposal can enhance the acceptability of the research proposal. Here the literature review is based on the topics related to the use and impacts of BIM technology on the construction industry.
2.2 Themes
Importance of the BIM in the construction project
Building information modeling (BIM) is one type of intelligent model-based procedure that helps to increase productivity as well as improve the management performance of the construction-based project. BIM technology provides a space to develop the visualisation process, collaboration method, integration approach, communication process, and automation approach for the construction project purpose (Bosch-Sijtsema and Gluch, 2019).
BIM technology includes other types of technology also such as laser scanning methods and virtual reality. On the other side, this type of technology also integrates the digital tools that mainly apply for making a design of the construction project. The main highlighting part of this paper is that this type of advanced technology transforms the organisational working activity.
Therefore this change within the workplace helps to develop strong relationships with the employees. Besides this advanced technology also enhances the employee’s knowledge and provides an idea in a way they are accustomed to the new working activity. Alternatively says that this type of technology also changes the organisation’s vision, mission, and norms.
Besides this type of advanced technology not only brings changes in the organisation’s infrastructure it also brings changes in the professional responsibility of the construction manager (Kolarić et al. 2018).
Effectiveness of the BIM technology in the construction project
In the present day, the construction industry mainly suffers from the on-time delivery problem. Therefore in the construction project, several types of issues arise such as the cost of the planning of the construction project and the deadline issues. In the UK it is observed that 70% of construction projects are not provided within the given timeline (Crowther and Ajayi, 2019).
Therefore due to the industrial problems, governments adopt lean construction that gives the project value in the future. This lean construction idea mainly comes from BIM technology. Therefore this technology helps to solve the problem of the communication gap, efficiencies of the organisational work, and lastly, it solves the waste activity-oriented issues within the workplace.
Besides this type of technology is also mitigates the risk regarding the construction project purpose. Therefore this type of technology influences several types of aspects in the construction project such as the renovation of the project, operation of the project, and the management of the project perfectly (Van Tamet al. 2021).
Theories related to the Construction project
In this project work, the technology acceptance model is one of the suitable models that support this project work. The TAM model provides information to the users in a way they accumulate the technology to develop the project work successfully (Alhashmiet al. 2019).
In this case, Supervisor uses several types of advanced technology such as AI, internet things to develop the project work. Newly adopted technology also changes the decision process of the users.

With the help of this model, users can predict the project scope in the future. Besides, the model also helps them to include the computer system for analysis purposes whether this theme is effective or not.

The study has focused on analysing the use of BIM technology on the construction object operations. Here the independent variables are the usage and strategies of using the BIM technology. Moreover, the acceptance model and its implication are also considered here for understanding. The dependent variable is the efficiency in operations with the use of BIM technology in construction projects.
2.4Literature Gap
The review of the literature identifies different knowledge about the uses and importance of BIM technology in construction works. Here in the literature review portion, the participants get the scope to know the importance of BIM to enhance the work culture of the construction companies. This can strengthen the collaboration and communication in the construction companies.
The development in the visualisation process and planning and designing process makes the process fast and this literature review analyses the 3D visualisation and laser utilisation methods of the BIM technology. The effectiveness of BIM technology has been discussed in the thematic discussion, but there is no specific elaboration about the impact of BIM technology in the construction industry of the UK.
That is why the project team wants to focus on that literature gap to evaluate the effects of BIM technology in the construction market of the UK.
2.5 Summary
This part of the project proposal presents the knowledge and understanding of the participants in this project by studying different literature that is different journals, books, manuscripts, articles, etc. related to the proposed topic. This literature review helps the participants to know deeply the previous works so that they can know the theories, models, importance, and side by side they can identify the gap in the literature. The identification of gaps can help them to establish the focus point of the project research.
3. Methodology
3.1 Introduction
The methodology part presents the step by step selection of research philosophy, approach, strategy, etc. to pre-decide the effective path of the research. The proper analysis and selection of research methodology help the researchers to meet the objectives more accurately. Through the analysis of different steps of the research methodology, participants can know more about the topic as the requirements of the research process are based on the demands of the project topic.
The participants have to declare the ethical considerations in this part of the research proposal and they have to outline a timescale for the execution of total research work.

3.2Research Philosophy
There are different research philosophies among which positivism is related to the observations through the research process and the factual knowledge that is obtained by the participants. The different quantitative measurements and statistical results are also to be considered according to this philosophy (Park et al. 2020).
Positivism philosophy needs to demonstrate the concepts through observation and statistical probability to support the hypothesis that is presented by the project researchers. This quantitative information can be taken through a large-scale survey to obtain real-time observation of the social world. The participants of this project research have selected the positivism philosophy to execute the analysing procedure.
3.3Research Approach
The inductive approach of the research indicates the observation of different existing theories and then verifies the resemblance of the knowledge with the observations of surrounding social worlds. This merging of existing theories with the findings of the present time helps the researchers to come to the end of the research process (Danaee, 2020).
This is beneficial to obtain a conclusion of the research process as per their understanding. The project team has selected the inductive approach for this project research work.
3.4Research Strategy
Here the participants want to select a mixed method that is multiple types of strategies to obtain qualitative and quantitative findings also. This can be helpful to analyse different existing theories through archival studies and the participants have also decided to arrange a large-scale survey to gather the quantitative analysis with the real-time information related to the proposed topic (Cook et al. 2018). The mixed method can be helpful to present the complete information of research work.
3.5Data Collection
This project research work has followed the mixed method for both qualitative and quantitative analysis. That is why the archival study and survey procedures have been selected. In the archival study procedure, the data has been collected from the previous research works.
Different journals, books, manuscripts, articles, portals, etc. are used in the archival study of the research work to find out different previous data findings, theories, models, etc. (Donaldson, 2019). On the other hand, survey results can be obtained by generating google forms through online media (Kopczyńskaet al. 2020). The questionnaire of the survey is to be set by the participants of this project research.
3.6Data Analysis
Data analysis has been presented in two ways like secondary or qualitative data analysis by collecting data from the archival study and primary quantitative data analysis by collecting data from the online survey (Queiróset al. 2017). Through qualitative analysis, the participants can relate the people of their surroundings, who participate in the survey to obtain the real-time statistical analysis regarding the topic.
This can complete the in-depth presentation of the issues and discussion, side by side this can be relevant and valid as this is related to the present time results.
3.7Ethical Consideration
Ethical consideration is an important part to make the research work more authentic, relevant, and without any ethical issues. The participants of the research have declared that they arrange the survey by taking the permissions of the participants and there the details are mentioned, which personal information of the survey participants can be accessed by the research team (Zyphur and Pierides, 2017).
In addition, they have elaborated that they perform the referencing in a proper way to avoid any type of ethical issues in performing qualitative data analysis from different archival studies.

3.9 Summary
This methodology part in this project proposal has elaborated the proposed methods for the execution of total research step by step. The selection of both qualitative or secondary research and primary research in a quantitative manner like a survey help to establish the complete presentation of in-depth knowledge about project topics and the present time response of the surrounding people on this topic. Here the project team has declared the ethical considerations and the proposed timeline of the research.
4. Anticipated Outcome
This research proposal aims to find out the impacts of BIM technology in construction project works in the UK. The increased use of advanced technology affects all the industries all over the world and that is why the construction industry has also been affected by the use of AI. On the other hand, the construction industry of the UK has contributed 40% of the total carbon footprint that is almost half of the total carbon emission that is one of the important causes of global warming, which is responsible for climate change (ukgbc.org, 2021).
That is why technological advancement can enhance the establishment of green buildings and also can reduce carbon emissions through the processing of building construction. For these purposes one useful technology is BIM. This can form a 3D view of the 2D design of a building that is helpful for the engineers, architects, and contractors to analyse the spaces, water supply points, light generations, and many planning by staying at home.
This enhances the workability, enhances the communication among the team members of a construction project, but reduces the carbon footprints (Georgiadou, 2019). That is why the government of the UK has made the use of BIM mandatory in the real estate industry for all kinds of residential projects.
5. Conclusion
This project proposal is established to identify and evaluate the impacts of BIM technology in the construction market of the UK. For presenting this proposal accurately the project team members have established the aim and objectives. They presented a thematic discussion of the literature review and the gap of the literature. Then the methodology has been proposed by the members for the completion of the research project.
The possible research timeline is also demonstrated in this project proposal. At last, the participants of this project work have demonstrated a brief outcome as per their understanding of the impacts of BIM in the construction industry of the UK.
