Corporate Social Responsibility is the aspect in which a company should play a vital role in considering the community and the business plan and decisions should have a social and environmental impact on the business. There are many types of CSR plan that companies are taking. Unilever is a famous company that is situated in the UK, it is a company of beauty products, household products, and food groceries. Its total revenue is $64.8 million. Unilever is taking a CSR project on the employment of women from the backward class of society. This report will go on to discuss the CSR project idea, its marketing effect, and the uniqueness of the project.
CSR project Idea of Unilever
The CSR project of Unilever is to give employment to the unemployed women of the backward class of society. The women of a backward society have very few opportunities is pursue careers, but giving the opportunity to women is a great idea and has several positive results.
Macro analysis
The idea of employing women of different classes of society is a different approach and it has many pros and cons with respect to society. Unilever is working on the process with great expectations and is the company has very high expectations for the project. It will be a little difficult as the introduction of technology and the use of technology will be a little bit difficult for the women of backward society but there is also a positive aspect that those women will learn about the modern technologies that are the companies are using in the market. It will help society to grow and in the market and the future generation will have many opportunities to learn about the technology and take a step forward in pursuing their career.
Uniqueness
This project has its own uniqueness as employing women from the backward class of society is at a whole new level from other perspectives. Very few companies are there that think about the backward class people in society. This community of society will always be disrespected and does not get as many opportunities to pursue a career as the other communities get. By taking this unique CSR project Unilever has shown the world that everyone must be respected and in the working environment, every human is equal. It will be tough to replicate this project but this project will be a successful one in terms of uniqueness on the other hand it has many difficulties that will be created in the working atmosphere of the company.
Stakeholder Relations
Stakeholder relation is a vital factor that every company has to maintain in completing any project. Giving a chance to the people of the backward class is a very effective way to impress the stakeholders like the shareholders, and people in the supply chain. But this project is also creating a bad impression on the employees. Many employees of Unilever objected to working with the people of the backward community. Many employees created chaos in the industry but it is a bad approach by the company. The other managers have strictly restricted the employees from causing any chaos in the office. The maximum percentage of people in the industry supported the unique project of the company and the other stakeholders including the customers also supported and praised this project. In my reviews of the project, it can be said that this project will be a huge success and will create a fine impression about the project.
Marketing effect
This project has a positive effect on the markets of the company. The consumers are very much pleased with this approach and give a positive review of the project. This is the indication of the success of the project and the sign of an increase in sales. Though many people of the backward community do not take this approach and the project in a positive aspect. Many people are opposing the project and demanding to stop this project. Even some investors are not pleased with the project as those investors are not taking this project with a positive approach. But this project is will increase the number of investors in the international market as many investors are supporting the project and many new investors want to invest money in the project. Though it has many consequences that can have a bad result in completing the project, this also creates even a better impression about the company in the market. This impression will definitely help in increasing the number of stakeholders of the company.
Personal reflection
This project is a very positive approach and I am very much pleased to work with this team. Every member of the team had worked hard in completing this project and played a different role in the aspect of the role of everyone. I have taken care of the role of researching the company and the project that the company is going to work on. By analyzing the revenue and position of the company I decided that it will be the perfect project for the company. One member has researched and gathered information about the stakeholders of the company and what should be the impression of the stakeholders in this project. Other members helped in choosing out the aspects and executing the points in the project. I am very much happy to complete the project and very much satisfied to be friendly and help team members and also very much satisfied with working with the team.
Conclusion
By discussing the whole report it can be concluded that Unilever is a big company that has the ability to conduct this kind of project and also can execute the project. By discussing the CSR project idea, its marketing effect, and the uniqueness of the project it is very much clear that Unilever will have great applause and profit if the company is able to execute the project. Though the initial stages will be tough the final result will be very much satisfied.
