Introduction

The purpose of this self-reflection plan is to outline career goals what I want to achieve post my academic qualification. The planning of career goals is important to shape the professional career. This reflective report will demonstrate about competencies in terms to strength and weakness in present time. Based on my strength, I select my future career domain or weakness may help me to turn out my limitations into my strength so that I could grab bright future opportunities which is crucial to achieve the desired career plan (Gray et al., 2021). At last, the preparation of action plan would reflect my strategies to overcome my limitation or planning to achieve within 2-3 years for reaching out on the desired goal.

Outline of career plan

With completion of B.tech from Vignans lara institute of science and technology, I was able to benefit from this course in a way learn about the current advanced technology which is important in present smooth business running. The demand for the technology like AI/VI, machine learning or different software’s like primavera P6 which is useful for enterprise resources planning or organising of activities etc. These technologies demands are more as everything become digital. The increasing trend of digital technology has made me realise to pursue my career in this field as I already have experienced in managing oracle primavera P6 software. I have done project related to planning or scheduling using oracle software. This project gave me enough experienced about how software usage or implement in the business. Still, I am looking for a job in a reputed software firm where I can enhance practical skills. The academic study has given me insight knowledge about the technology or data sciences but for market exposure I need to learn within the strong firm guidance’s (Wong et al., 2021). The career goals would be to strengthen my knowledge about the chatbots, resources management through attach with big firms like Google, Microsoft and IBM etc. This goal accomplishment could help to enhance my professional career or even able to get chance in future to make my own start-up. To be precisely, my short-term goal is to get the job in right firm where as fresher I can build-up my knowledge. The planning to do job in my first firm for at least to 12 months and want to explore other firms as well. But my long-term goal is to make my own start-up in my third year. To achieve this goal, it is must to analysis my competencies so that improvement can be developed accordingly.

The coursework learning in academic has reflected my personal strength and weakness. I believed that my biggest hurdle is my inconsistency whether its in study or preparation for future career. Basically, time-management skill is something which affected my past academic scores. In regards to this problem, I have not come to a full solution yet, but I did make changes in my life as to achieve the goals on time. I found that I was easier for me to focus on work or task when I was outside my home as I able to manage the things properly. But the pandemic restriction has made everything work-from-home. This creates the problem of time-management. The pandemic also affected my last B.tech score as well due to more classes has done from online basis due to various chances I got missed. The pandemic also makes me lazy as I missed various project work deadlines. Even, I am also looking for a job in IT firms for enhancing my career. Even for this, I am not able to plan out interviews or study-material for giving my best interview to get selection in reputed firm (Turner, 2019). Time-management skill is also important to achieve the change-management strategy. The present situation clearly shows the innovation in technology which make it important for people or firm to address it in respect to be in current trends. It also put pressure on me to update my knowledge in technology or software so that promotions or increments could be achieve in short span of time. I also usually mess around on the internet or take naps and even don’t think realistically I will get over procrastination anytime soon, but I can manage it. This could only achieve when I start to align with the changes or adopt it on time in my life. The right changes could help me to manage things on time.

Along with hurdles came hidden strengths, I discovered about myself. I’ve never thought of myself as a leader, but because the class used group thinking in more than one occasion. I found that I am a good leader. I communicate my ideas to the group while trying to balance the ideas of others so the group can come to an agreed upon decision. Obviously, this can benefit me no matter what career I decide to go into, because the ability to take control of a situation and still remain diplomatic with colleagues is a valuable asset to possess such skills for getting desired outcomes. Other than that, I discovered that my decision-making skills are also good enough I reach to any conclusion through make proper evaluation of activities and identify the pros or cons of the situation and then make the decisions to reach out on the desired results (Salleh et al., 2020). This self-competency has indicated me that I am good enough at communication my ideas or even controlling the complex situations. But these competencies I can achieve properly when I focus on my time-management skills as inconsistent about the task or changes in present scenario could make me fail in career. This is important to address in present scenario to align with the changes in order to be competent in this cut-throat competition.

Improvement areas

On the basis of discussed competencies whether strength or weakness, it is must to focus on the improvement areas because it only takes to the grab of opportunities. The without addressing of weakness then it become so difficult to stand within the competition. Likewise, the Lewin change management theory clearly presented three factors i.e., Refreeze, change and Freeze. These factors indicated that it is must to first evaluate the desired skills or changes through evaluate the current market trends. Then, for implementation adopt the necessary areas like time-management, proper planning or execution of plan. Followed by this, the changes need to be freeze through keep update about the new trends or skill requirements. The adaptation of net-surfing or book-reading could help to enhance the knowledge which could help to bring changes more appropriately. Therefore, based on this theory, I believed that bring changes in the skills are part for gaining success. The best example can be given with the technology shift people from manual to software for handling business functions. Likewise, the pandemic has made more awareness about the importance of software technology or application usage in regards to continue their work at home (Tabiu and Nura, 2020). This has made people to improve their computer or software management skills to be in trend as without keeping with the trend, it become impossible to survive so long in this fast-changing environment.  Therefore, it is important for me to focus on my improvement areas like keep update with the things through attend online courses to learn about new software as ERP system where I worked in Oracle has also update with new features which also need to learn for gaining good job in IT sector. Therefore, the acceptances of changes or imbibe right changes could allows individual to retain in competition to longer duration.

I will continue to read books for collecting more knowledge so that right example could be given to people for influencing them.
S I have good behavioural skill to deal with different people behaviours 4 I know this because my senior gives me good rating to my behaviour in college project I will keep this behaviour intact through become more polite in language or try to listen others as well.
