ABSTRACT

Cloud Computing has become the powerful platform in many applications of various fields. Cloud computing can be used to improve the processes of education system for effectively delivering the subject contents. The objective of this project is to investigate the requirements of the students based on the learning processes and operations in the school education and then implementing the school education system based on a chosen cloud platform and data centre. This system will be helpful for the students to get their classes to be taught in online mode. This way of learning will be helpful during the pandemics where the students are not allowed to come to school for classroom learning.

PROJECT PLANNING

The reason for adopting the cloud computing in many applications is it convenience, cost, and efficiency, mainly for the educational field is recognized and noted by several United States educational institutions. In some universities, the research purpose and its availability with the help of cloud computing is always welcome. The schools and educational in(Mallikharjuna Rao. N, 2018) situations beginning in order to use the cloud services of lower level for the data storage purpose. The cloud service may be attractive in which the security of datais less concern in which the audio and video is offeredas the resources of open educational system. The other cloud computing usage started to in the field of education system management of hosting the institutional learning in the platform of cloud. The outsourcing education system will be based on the LMS provision like the third party Moodle or traditional blackboard. In addition to the applications that are individual in the platform of cloud, the availability of bundled applications are also there like the Google Apps for purpose of Education or another application is the Microsoft Live@Edu along with the Microsoft office 365 and various other educational applications that merges the tools for collaboration and communication along with the office tools mainly for working along with documents, storage space and on demand synchronize data, in which the department of the computing service in the university  aims in order to achieve the availability of 99.5% availability for the services in educational system like LMS, and application of Google can provide the availability of 99.9% suited for the educational institutions and the target is to be achieved. With the usage of the applications and servicesin the cloud environment, teachers and students achieve able to achieve the mobility of the educational resources andthe applications required are available through the internet connected devices and the portable computers and. An example is the lasses happening in the school can be able to implement outside the educational institution or school and the students or the staffscan able to perform functions at several places.

 

CLOUD ARCHITECTURE AND SOLUTIONS

Requirements Gathering

The main issue in the school education system is that the preconditions investigations in order to implement the applications and services of cloud services in higher school education. This is difficult to imply the active usage of the application by the teachers and the students.The main focus is to be on the usage of the cloud services like the software services for students. The main reason for the student selection as a population targeted based on the lies of research and the students are increased dependently on the services online for assessment and learning.By implementing the education system cloud computing, it is possible to get the students and teachers under a unified single platform. Educational based organizations like universities, colleges, and schools is not require to buy a server on own, and maintain the data centers and the servers. Instead, the cloud computing can leverage in order to avail the storage, compute power, set databases, and several other services when it is required for them.

The cloud platform offers the teachers and the students for accessing several services and applications in  the cloud that can be make use either as informal or formal education,  and the cloud computing allows the system for  greater mobility and flexibility in the usage  of  resources for  learning and teaching, communication, and collaboration, communication and mainly helps for resource sharing,  and  it creates  and develops anenvironment of personalized  learning in the virtual  communities  of  teaching and learning.

The functional requirements define the various functionalities of the proposed system. For example, there may be a function called Post assignments where the teacher has to post assignment using this function.

The non functional requirements define how efficient the proposed system is in terms of security, scalability, Reliability, Adaptability and Usability. For example, scalability defines how well the system perform when there increase in number of students in a online session.

Choice of Cloud Platform

The cloud platform chosen here is Amazon Web Services because it provides various services in storage, network and computation. It also offers 6 months free trial of usage of AWS services. It also has security features.

Choice of Data centre and Standards

There are three types of data centre public, private and hybrid. The data centre chosen for this project is public because it is cheapest and can provide basic level of security features. The data centre tier standard chosen is tier1 because it is simple and low cost with acceptable downtime.

 

Cloud Architecture for School Education System

This cloud architecture for school education is mainly used for online virtual classrooms. This architecture based on AWS cloud provides all the necessary services. The basic services needed are storage, network and computation services.

Analysis and Reflection

With the software that is cloud-based, it is possible for the educational institutions for having a virtual classroom for students. The virtual classroom concept decreases the cost of infrastructure to an extent. They even minimize the regular staff expenses on boarding. The teachers can fully create and they can deliver the courses online to learners anywhere. Students can have the way of appearing for virtual exams, which saves the expenses and time effectively. The cloud potential is unmatched based on the accessibility. The teachers or the students can easily do the data access of the application, content of course, data, and applications anywhere and anytime. Students can enroll in the required courses and they even can group participate in activities (J.B., 2018). Another major benefit of the platform of cloud is the extensive savings of cost. Both service providers and the learners can experience large benefits in this method. Students are not required to invest in applications and expensive books as they are available online in the cloud for free. The cloud computing offers the benefit of the secured data storage. An educational institution that delivers the teaching or learning through the platform of cloud adopts the VPN for the assurance of the data security. VPN base protocols like IKEv2 are greatly responsible for the encryption of the outgoing traffic and data. Because of this the learning content is transferred easily to the students without reducing integrity (stone, 2019).

 

CONCLUSION

Cloud computing which is a new model offers the services for IT industry including the location of the rental resources and it is mainly considered to be future direction of the IT sector development. Normally, people are started to increase online and in online more work can be done, from E-mail accessories and using several communication, editing and writing the collaboration and documents, through listening music, watching movies and the fact is that personal images and documents are stored on web. It does not require any installation, updating and licensing of the program, and maintenance costs is not needed as all services and  programs are available in the web browser. Cloud helps the staff and the student to learn under the virtual classrooms and it greatly reduces the infrastructure cost and it is a time saver.
