Translation from basic scientific approach to modern management approach with its implication on modern workforces
The basic scientific management approach is to develop standard method for job performances in the form of conduct training & development, selection of employees. Previously, the management main focus is to gain the best result and ignores the personal development of workers.
However, there is lack of flexibility in the workplace environment. But with the changing business environment, the management approach also changing as now organization uses modern management approaches and this aspect is playing a significant role in the evolution of management and workers relationship.
In the views of Yuan et al. (2016), modern management approach is more based on social-economics and scientific institution within which focal area is to give rise the strong relationship with workforces instead of only earning profit.
This approach works for the employee satisfaction and proper standard of living. However, the modern management approach can be translated with the traditional process through emphasis on employee centered strategies including democratic or participative leadership style.
This is more effective in term to encourage the individuals to take part in the decision-making. The appropriate leading style always contributes towards boosting morale of individual in terms to bring productive results.
The incorporation of flexibility in the working environment would also help to hold the employee satisfaction towards management (Steiss, 2019).
It can be done through include two-three small break in between the work so that employees/workers can recollect their strength and work with more efficiency. Alongside, the weekly training & development session can also support towards improving their personal skill which tend to contribute towards achieving the expertise or knowledge in various fields.
Furthermore, the reward & recognition facilitates would also proves to be effective for encouraging the workforces to contribute productive outcomes. This is because when individual get reward for their performances then they feel recognized and satisfied employee always ready to work better or with greater efficiency. Therefore, these aspects could contribute towards achievement of high level of satisfied or motivated workforces.
Other than that, the modern management theory stated that management efforts towards the workforces are important as it only helps to build the healthy relationship with them. It is found that if employees is satisfied with workplace then it definitely show their loyalty for longer duration. This is occurring with the proper implementation of communication between different hierarchies.
Likewise, traditional standard method of job performances does not involve the interaction of different department. However, the superior of each department is an authoritative performs for the employees. So, the flow of information among the department is quite less in the traditional management approach.
But with the changing focus of firm from just profit making to build the relationship with workers by making positive working environment, the communication becomes an important aspect. However, MIS system or social-site networking is the common sources for making proper flow of information among the different functions. This also allows the functions to take wise decision as per the available information.
The regular flow of facts also assists in making coordination among the department of workforces. This practice also enhances the work quality and gives rise to the productive results.
The implementation of transition from traditional approach to modern management approach bring various implication on current workforce in a way that participative leader could invite them for contributing their ideas in decision-making so this encourages them to improve their efficiency and perform the job with greater dedication.
Moreover, the facilities of weekly training along with the reward facilities helps the current workforces to develop new skills and it supports their professional lives in proper manner.
This practice helps them to fulfill the organization expectations in significant manner. Thus, it can be stated that the modern management practice will definitely contribute best results for organization in terms to enhance the chances of long-term profit and revenue generation.
