Introduction
This research work is based upon maintaining outputs of projects to maintain environmental sustainability. Maintaining environmental sustainability is the crucial part of any projects. Stakeholders play a great role in maintain sustainable environment in projects. They are the investors of the projects and their decision can leave an impact on financing sustainable projects Apart from that, the behavior of the project teams also play an important role to do effective planning to use natural resources and control waste effectively in a project. The. In this research proposal some areas of this topic will be discussed that will help to evaluate the process of maintaining sustainability, ways to do financing and manage stakeholders to maintain sustainability. In this regard, literature review will be discussed and in methodology part, data collection procedure will be narrated. In the critical evaluation part, some opinions from various authors will be critically analyzed.
Problem Statement
In this research part some important areas will be examined such as, process of maintaining sustainability, impact of sustainability, behavior of the project members, role of stakeholders, and also environmental impact on decommissioned projects. This has been identified that, the outputs of the projects such as any kind of waste leaves a great impact on the environment. A project uses natural resources, which are limited in quantity. Even, the energy consumption is also a matter of fact in incorporating any projects (Misseyanni, Marouli & Papadopoulou2020). This has also been taken in to consideration that, carbon emission is vital factor in project. The carbon emission also hampers the environment. In this regard, this is very important for the project managers to concentrate on maintaining environmental sustainability by control waste and carbon emission (Tang & Tu, 2018). In fact, the usage of natural resources should also be restricted to some extent. Hence, a strategy should be needed for sustainability and financing in those projects. Stakeholders should also be involved to do planning and delivering outputs in a sustainable way.

Literature gap
The literature gap is very important to analyse in research proposals. This will help to research to fulfil any research gap and make the research paper effective. The authors in the literature review part, have not shared their views regarding the complexities of stakeholders’ management and the impact on the project management. This can be considered as a literature gap that needs to be fulfilled.
Research proposal methodology:
Research methodology is the process of collecting and evaluating information about a particular research topic. In this research methodology art, the researcher critically will evaluate the reliability and validity of the research paper Apart from that, the research philosophy also will help to do critical evaluation of a particular portion of the research topic. In this research proposal, the researcher will use quantitative primary data collection method in order to gather information about stakeholders’ management and engagement and analyze it to come to a conclusion.
Philosophical position
There are three types of research philosophy such as positivism, realism and interpretivism which are observed in research methodology (Sinha, Clarke & Farquhar son, 2018). The researcher will use interpretivism research philosophy in order to evaluate information from surveys and questionnaires. This will help to analyze the findings from the subjective viewpoints. Interpretive philosophy will establish relationship between the factors of environmental sustaibility. The findings will maintain the reliability as interpretive approach will use these methods to gather data from the samples prepared from survey. In this way, the researcher can identify and evaluate the factors that plays a big role for doing further research.
Methodology
Data Collection procedure
Data collection procedure is the crucial part of the research methodology. The researcher will use a primary quantitative data collection method in order to do statistical analysis of the research (Sinha, Clarke & Farquhar son, 2018). Apart from that, this data collection procedure will make it easier for the researcher to consider numerical values of various parts of the information .Conducting surveys can help the researcher get statistically significant results. Even in surveys, the data gathering process is very simple and that can be done by making simple questionnaires. This survey process is very much cost effective which will help the researcher to stay on an allocated budget. In this regard, the researcher will conduct a survey by taking opinions from 51 employees associated with information system, engineering and construction projects. The researcher will prepare close ended questionnaires in order to record the views of the respondents regarding environmental sustainability.

Data analysis
Sample collection technique
This is another effective technique among all the methods that will help the researcher to conduct quantitative data collection methods effectively (Ismail et al. 2019). This sample technique will help the researcher to estimate the number of participants into two aspects such as size and sample. The first aspect will help the researcher to calculate the number of respondents who will respond in questionnaires. On the other hand, the second aspect will help the researcher to record the opinions of 51respondents during the survey session.
Data Analysis
The researcher will consider deductive thematic analysis to evaluate the data.
This deductive thematic analysis will help the researcher to do scientific investigation to identify the loopholes in stakeholders’ management. Apart from that, this deductive research approach will also be fruitful in terms of analyzing the complexities and challenges project manager face regarding stakeholders’ expectations and opinions.
Chapter Summary
In this methodological part, the researcher will choose to use primary quantitative data collection method in order to collect the data. This quantitative data collection method will enable the researcher to consider numerical values and execute in depth investigation to find the research question. The researcher will also get statistically significant result by conducting the survey. The survey will help the researcher to get information from the perspective and experience of the researcher. The researcher will also use deductive thematic analysis to analyses the data in an effective way. This deductive thematic analysis will help to consider any variables in the same phase.
Critical evaluation
- Saunders et al.’s (2019 or earlier) ‘Research Onion
Saunders et al.’s (2019 or earlier) ‘Research Onion will help the researchers to develop the research work by going through some stages. The stages are
- Research philosophy 2. Research approach 3. Research strategies 4. Research choices and 5. Research time horizon
Research philosophy
The researcher will use interpretivism research philosophy in order to evaluate information from surveys and questionnaires. This will help to analyses the findings from the subjective viewpoints. This research philosophy will give the opportunity to the researcher to gain holistic insights about the areas associated with stakeholders’ management. These methods will also help the researcher to do statistical analysis by considering the numerical values of the research topic.
Research approach
The two types of research approach can be observed in research methodology such as inductive and deductive research approach There are many drawbacks of an inductive research approach like, this approach is very time consuming and needs advanced skills to conduct this. Hence, the researcher will follow the deductive research approach in order to evaluate and examine various areas of the research. In fact, this research approach will allow the researcher to do scientific investigation to identify the loopholes in stakeholders’ management (Li et al. 2020) .Apart from that, this research approach will help the researcher to establish relationships between variables and the concept. The researcher has used quantitative data collection methods and conducts surveys in order to gather information about several research areas.
The deductive research approach is very much beneficial for the research paper. This research approach will help the researcher to do scientific investigation to identify the loopholes. Apart from that, this deductive research approach will also be fruitful in terms of analyzing the complexities and challenges project manager face regarding controlling carbon emission and waste management (Severo et al. 2020)
Methodological choice
The researcher will choose a mono method, which is the primary quantitative data collection method that will help the researcher to execute statistical analysis of the research paper. This quantitative data collection method will help the researcher to consider numerical and statistical values. Apart from that, the researcher will also get to do in-depth investigation on this topic of environmental sustainability.
Research strategies
Data collection procedure will make it easier for the researcher to consider numerical values of various parts of the information. Conducting surveys can help the researcher get statistically significant results. Even in surveys, the data gathering process is very simple and that can be done by making simple questionnaires (Sinha, Clarke & Farquharson, 2018).
Research time horizon
The researcher will choose cross sectional time horizon to execute this research. This cross-sectional time horizon is less expensive and less time consuming. In this procedure, the data has been taken in single period. Even, this also gives the chance to researcher to consider many variables. The survey process is very time consuming as well as complicated. Hence, the time horizon will be longitudinal (Mackenzie, Karaoylas & Starzyk, 2018).
Research procedure and techniques
The researcher may face several limitations and constraints while gathering information regarding the impact and strategies of maintaining sustainability. Environmental sustainability one of the crucial parts of any project management that can affect the operational and financial areas of the project. In this regard, the researcher will collect information by preparing close-ended questionnaires and taking opinions by using five liker scales. The main problem, the researcher may face that, the mixed responses from the participants. This will create more complexities for the researcher to come to a conclusion. Apart from that, the participants may not feel comfortable to provide honest answers regarding the topic. The participants may not feel encouraged to share thoughts that may create problems for them in future. Even data errors can occur due to non-responses of questions. Conducting surveys is too complicated and time consuming. This will also be very tough for the researcher to make the participants agree for the surveys. Hence, this can be said that time is one of the big constraints that the researcher may face while adopting this survey method.
