As, it a reflective assessment that is totally based on my understanding of “Design it”. In this, there are different group activities that are done by me.

As well as, some of the weekly blog and writings are also reflected in this reflection process.

During my assessment, there are different tasks are done by me and some discussion and the communication are also done by me that helped me to complete the all task s and the task related activities also.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN (PDP)

The all activities helped me to develop my skills and knowledge that will help me to have the great future and to manage the all activities as well.

In this blog, I has decided to conduct a proper research study about the decision making process which can help in understanding the need of more innovation.

In respect to this, I discussed on identifying the problems which are related to decision thinking process to a large extent.

While identifying the problem, I faced difficulty in collecting the data or finding information which creates negative influence over the performance respectively.

In this, I learned that identifying new problems related to decision thinking process for the designer is very important as this help designer in modifying the new process according to it.

During this study, I also determined different key ways that help in overcoming the problems which are faced while design thinking process.

While identifying the ways, I got to know that there are different types of design process models which designer can use to overcome the problem very efficiently and also reduce the chances of failure of the process.

This helped me in developing my knowledge that proper use of right process or technique help in reaching to the reliable outcome easily.

I was very interested in learning new ways and processes which can be used by me in my further learning and future professional career.

At the same time, I have focused more on discussing the differentiating points which differentiate the design thinking process and business thinking process.

This study helped me in understanding that design thinking and business thinking processes are different from each other.

For identifying the differences, I used different key points or factors that helped me in determining the actual difference in the respective processes.

The factors which we identified involve methods, process, underlying assumptions and decision drivers.

For better understanding, I also used some examples as a reference which help me in defining the reason behind the low performance as well as also I identified that these factor make designer rethink on new ways to achieve a final result.

In order to understand more about design thinking, I also saw some video clip which helped me in understanding and analyzing that actually how design thinker i.e., designer works with their team as well as how they conduct their respective meeting and efficiently they come with innovative ideas.

Overall, this blog helped me to learned new knowledge and skill which supported me to develop my analytical and design thinking process to a large extent which somewhere lead to development of my strength and overcoming my weaknesses.

Journey mapping and brainstorming

From the week 5 activity, it is determined by us that journey mapping and brainstorming the ideas that are helpful to solve the problem and to handle the all issues as well.

From the activity of 5, it can be determined that after some time, we found the week activity 1 and on the basis of this activity, I personally observed that there is a need of box  and I also come up with some innovate ideas and all ideas are transformed by me in the circle.

It didn’t take long time to do and within some time, I completed it. At the same time, I also noticed that for the brainstorming the all idea, it is needed for having some different aspect such as right mind-set, right challenge, right people, right facilitation and right inspiration.

It is because for getting the quick idea and the management, the involvement of the all these aspects are quite necessary for me.

This task is almost completed by us and after this; we stated the second task that was also so important for us. This task was quite complex fir us because of findings the complex real problem.

So, after doing the in-doeth research, we decided finally ice cream for the successful accomplishment of this task. I was also very much interested about this.

It is because ice cream is one of the most favorable products for the all people and every year, many firms deal in this product and get the success also. That is why, this products is chosen by us.

The issue in this product was holding the ice cream. So, for managing this issues, we have to think about innovate idea and products.

So, for this, after a long research, we finalized the plastic lid holder that was same like a holder covering.

As well as, the shape of the holder was like a cone. It was looking like same as the ice cream that was effective.

The major advantage of innovation of this products is to overcome the issues of ice cream melt problem and after the use of this products, it will overcome and rest of the part of ice cream can be eat through spoon.

So, that was the best and effective idea by us for the task 2. After the successful accomplishment of the task, we also used the journey mapping.

The reason for using the journey mapping is for applying master program to come Australia. Finally, it can be stated that all tasks was good and our lecturer was also so happy from this tasks. I was also satisfied.

Design research

After completing the long vacation, now we look for the week 6 activities. This is also one of the best and important activities of the course that can be helpful for use as per the business perceptive and the future perceptive also.

At the same time, the main aim of this activity is to get the understanding about the value chain analysis and mind mapping. Both are the major important part of the course and to have to develop the understanding about the internal and the external environment.

In this activity, we get the full information about the all process of value chain and the use of value chain to determine the use of value chain through like how suppliers supply the products to the customers.

I also determined that manufacturing process is one of the best and wide processes that are used by the firm for managing the business and the all activity of the business as well.

Apart from this, I also determined that value chain analysis is a of inter organizational links and relationships and it is quite necessary for the firms to generate the new products and the value also.

There are different things that are learnt by me from my professor about the use of value chain and the manufacturing process.

For the better practical understating of this aspect, I decided to choose a firm and it was Woolworths.

I got the detailed information about this firm and the process that firm uses to get the success and to perform well in the market. There is different more and mini activity like by linking the all dots without any use of lifting in the paper. This type of activity helped us to clarify that how we can think about the out of box.

There are different problems that are identified and the ways are also defined that can be used by the firm for the better management of the issues and the value chain process as well.

Along with this, different approaches are also defined and learnt by us and in this, design thinking those are qualitative and quantitative analysis were the major approaches.

Although, the all approaches were same but there are also some difference in the approaches related to the collection of the primary and the secondary data. As well as, about the mind mapping with their principles to use mind mapping and the data collection.

During this all aspects, assessment 2 is also discussed with us by tutor that was related to the group presentation. He suggested using to focus on the problem more not for solutions.

Design Research 2

In this blog, I have learned about the ‘Design Research’ and how to develop a good design research to complete the research in an effective manner. In this, I have learned about the research and approached the research as well as the methods of data collection.

I have discovered that the research is a systematic investigation of a topic that provides some new ideas regarding the topic. At the same time, it is also defined by me that a research also provides a final conclusion that is new for the selected research topic.

I have also learned that a research can be done through the use of two different approaches like qualitative and quantitative.

The qualitative research approach provides the information in a subjective manner whereas the quantitative research approach defines the research in the figures and ratios.

On the other hand, I have also increased my knowledge about the data collection methods that are based on these approaches.

In concern to this, I learned that the collection of the data can be of two types like primary data and secondary data.

It was also recognized by me that this project design needs the interviewing activity that can effectively complete the project. The interview technique has been provided the primary data or information about the design thinking.

My team members have exercised their knowledge work on interview technique in pairs includes person A and person B. In addition, when I saw the topics of the activity it got surprised to me because the topic was very simple.

Person A– Getting ready in the morning and Person B– Getting ready to go to bed, these topics were not broad so I was thinking that how the interviewee will give the answers of these questions in an effective manner.

These questions helped me that how can I explain my daily routine in an effective manner. At the same time, I got prepared to speak out my daily routine works from morning to evening.

During the interview session, I have realized that the use of good examples in the interview helped me to increase the effectiveness of my routine work.

In addition, it was also realized by me that there are several problems that can be faced by a person in their daily routine work like not following the traffic rules, don’t have an umbrella in that heavy rain, etc.

I have learned that a person really faces small problems in their daily work.

Design Prototype

This week, I have learned several new things about ‘design prototype’ that is a useful model to develop the valuable idea in the design thinking.

I have also defined that there are different methods that are involved in prototyping for the rapidly develop the ideas in design thinking.

I have also realized that the breaking down to the structure in several small parts is the main step for prototyping in the design thinking. In concern to my prototype model, I found that it was highly advantageous for the rapid development.

I have also learned something new where I can test the assumption regarding the prototype model and I found it amazing.

On the other hand, there are some principles of the prototyping that I have to understand from this blog such as Build it cheap, Make mistakes faster, and Considering it as means of communication.

In concern to this, I have developed my knowledge that the design thinking focuses that product should be developed at a cheap price that would be affordable for a business.

In addition, the prototyping should identify the mistakes in a faster way to define the solutions at the time of preparation. The faster solutions of the mistake would also be helpful to improve the performance of the project.

Moreover, in the last principle of the prototyping, it is considered as a means of communication, where the prototyping is helpful to communicate the design thinking in an effective manner.

It was also found by me that the prototype technique was helpful for my prototype model. It is because the prototype model includes the sketching that can be helpful to complete the project in an effective manner.

In addition to this, I also realized as well as increased my knowledge that the prototyping includes some other aspects such as storyboard, paper prototyping, wire-framing, and physical prototype.

Each of all four aspects is helpful for prototyping model to use the technique in an effective manner. However, it can be said that this paper helped me to learn about the use of prototyping in an efficient way as possible.

I have also defined that this chapter is very interesting for me to use the prototyping in an efficient way.

Design Theory

In this week, I have developed knowledge about the design theory where I have used some of the design thinking ideas such as triple loop learning, action research, divergent & convergent, and co-creation.

In this study, it is defined by me that the logical reasoning has a basic theory where the problems can be solved without designing any process and it provides the effective results.

Thus it can be said that the basic theory of logic reasoning where the problems can be resolved without designing the process for the result.

In addition to this, I have also learned that there are three important factors of the logical reasoning that is inductive, abductive and deductive.

In this, it is realized by me that the inductive reasoning develops the theory that must be based on the observation. In concern to a factor of the logical reasoning, it is also realized by me that this reasoning requires the evidence to develop the theory on the basis of hypotheses.

On the other hand, I also learned about the deductive reasoning in this study that is helpful to design the theory and provides the final confirmation. In addition to this, I have also discovered that it provides the results from more general to more specific in the research.

At the same time, abductive reasoning is also learned by me that provides the results from the incomplete observation to best prediction.

In this, it starts with the observation, then it seeks to find the simplest and explanation that is most likely.

In like a manner, I identified a process that how can I learn the design thinking. In this, I have realized that a person can learn design thinking who follow the design tools and generate own ideas through reflecting the theories.

In the section of the activity, I have developed the thinking by setting the mind and identified the designer’s core value.

I got a sheet of paper that includes mindset activities as well as I also realized that I need to provide the past experience regarding the related points. In addition, I have learned that this activity has explained the past difficulties faced by the researcher and ideas to overcome the issues.

After this, I have learned about the components of the assessment that is highly essential in the business management.

Conclusion

From the above study, it can be concluded that this study includes my personal reflection as a result of experiencing Design Thinking activities. In addition, this study also concludes critical self-analysis that has been developed my personal skills regarding design thinking.

This study also concludes an action plan of key events and activities that was undertaken over the last 6 months knowledge and skills as well as the behavior required for developing my skills.
