Assessment Event – Simulation: Fusion Marketing
You will complete a number of tasks associated with establishing a digital platform to utilize digital information in accordance withlegislation, regulations, organizational policy,and procedures relevant to digital media use and intellectual property.

This assessment centers on the Fusion Marketing case study, a professional marketing agency with a team of professional marketing consultants helping their clients to achieve their marketing communication goals. You will act in the capacity of a Marketing Communications Officer to establish internal communication mechanisms with an aim to facilitate team collaboration and group information sharing.

To complete the Simulation, you will need to refer to the following resources:

Fusion Wiki Policy: Organizational policy and procedures document that establishes digital media protocols and conventions to manage digital communication practices on the organization’s digital wiki platform. You will refer to this document when integrating their digital solutions into your simulated workplace operations.
Intellectual Property Policy: Organizational Policy and Procedures document that sets out the principles and practices of Fusion Marketing with respect to intellectual property. You will adopt this document when populating your web-based collaborative company wiki with digital content.
Fit for Purpose Matrix: Excel template used in Task 2.1 to select digital solutions that are fit for purpose.

Assessment Event – Fusion Marketing Simulation

You will participate in a simulation centered on a professional marketing agency titled Fusion Marketing. As the Marketing Communications Officer, you will be responsible for establishing a web-based organizational wiki and then populating it with digital information. At last, you will provide face-to-face training to your team members in order to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to use the system.

Task 1: Source and Utilise Digital Information

In this task, you will review Fusion Marketing’s digital applications and collect raw digital information with regard to intellectual property. This task will set the foundation for Task 2, where you will integrate a digital solution to support the organization’s workflow.

1.1 Identify Fusion Marketing’s digital applications

Why these applications do not address the organization’s business plans:

Digital applications only work for marketing the product or brand or image and that is the reason they do not include and address the organizational business plans. Digital applications are the best way of marketing but it fails to address the organization’s business plan.

Fusion wiki also focus on meeting its different requirements such as two-way communication process which allow full collaboration and connectivity among all parties as well as legal requirement of IP for protection of copyright.

Thus, stated digital applications found to be not useful for addressing the objectives of promoting initiative of marketing.  All applications does not involve any kind of creation, development, utilization, distribution of digital platform with the aim to successfully promote the marketing strategies.


1.2 Establish criteria to ensure validity and reliability in digital information sources

The five criteria for validity are:

  • The accuracy of the information: In concern o ensuring the accuracy of information, it is important to find the answer to some questions such as is the resource you found outdated? Is it relevant to current events and trends?
  • Coverage of the information: There isa number of multimodal communications such as combinations of text, video, audio, games, interactive animations and graphics, and other images and it may contain different embedded meanings in the context of different audiences as well as for
  • Quality of the information: The quality of the information depends on the goals in the organizations so it is important to identify what the organization is trying to do.
  • Objectivity of the information: Information should contain the objectivity after that it will be helpful for the purpose for that this information was collected.This may seem a bit shallow, but does it look nice?
  • Authority of the information: Forgetting the information, it is the most important task to get the access or authority of the information. In this concern, one question arises like Does the resource rely on authority to promote its quality?

It includes the all the involved workers those can be effected by work like, employees, contractors, subcontractors, volunteers and outworkers etc. The effective implementation of this act improves the health and safety arrangement at workplace and clarifies the duty of person undertaking the business regarding primary and safety duty. It focuses on assess the current working environment at work place, identify the risk involved and resolve the risk and safety issues proactively so that employees can work at safe work environment and unexpected accidents can be avoided.

Fusion Wiki is a digital service as a solution. It has the capacity to capture a rich variety of digital media such as digital artworks, e-documents, digital imagery galleries, digital podcasts,micro videos, e-papers, digital storyboards, interactive demos, etc. The company uses Fusion Wiki as a digital solution to address the following needs:
