The network diagram is planning on the segment of the different sub works in term of whole project management. The effective project management includes the proper network diagram by accept the author’s point of believe. it accepts the network diagram on the concept of project management.

Critical path analyze.

This project is going to focus on developing a scholarly library in the Lutan campus at the University of Bedfordshire. As per the prepared network diagram and the critical path, the project of developing this scholarly library in this Lutan campuswill focus on the total five segments of activities. As per the comments of Liberatore (2018), the prime role of an effective project manager is to divide the whole project work into equal divisions so that it can help the project manager to complete the project within time. AS per the statements of Burkov et al. (2018), it is the most important work for any type of construction project to develop the construction work of the whole building and then the project manager needs to proceed with other processes of activities. As stated by Papachristos et al. (2020), as per the concept opf the work breakdown structure (WBS), a project manager of a construction project needs to use this hierarchical method of organization a construction project of a building. This method helps the project manager to arrange all deliverables of the project into a single document.  As stated by Ershadi et al. (2021), as per the first stage of the WBS, which is planning, the project manager has to prepare the construction document.

This construction document will include the scope, detailed drawing and budget. In the second phase of the WBS which is execution, the project manager has to execute the interior and exterior construction (Ahmed, 2019). Therefore, the project manager has decided to complete the development of the library building first. For the establishment of the building, the project manager needs to appoint the cost of the civil engineers. It is very important for all the project managers to consult with civil engineers for the architecture-related work cost (Kehe et al. 2019). The major five steps that determine the stages are the building establishment, floor restoring, furniture management, and book sponsoring. The whole work since it is very important for the construction business. The third stage of WBS which is the control phase suggests the project manager control the scheduling of the whole project work. This phase includes all types of costs regarding the budget and quality of the project. The project manager of this project work has decided to limit the cost of the whole project so that the project manager can become able to complete the whole project within the budget and do not require more than the provided capital. The last phase of this method is closeout, which instructs the project manager typo handover the project to the client. In this case, the project manager has to hand over the all documents of the project to the clients finally.

From the above-mentioned critical path, it can observe that the first stage of the critical path starts from the “s” node and ends in “H” nods. It reaches through several other nodes such as “A”, “C”, and “G”. For travelling from “A”, “C”, and “G”, it takes almost 60 days, 20 days, and 10 days, whereas going through “B”, “D”, and “E”, it requires 8 days, 3 days, and 4 days. In the “F” node, the allocated task reduced into 5 days.

 1.3 Resource acquisition management plan

The project manager has to prepare a resource acquisition management plan for the project work. In the first step of the plan the project manager has to determine all required resources and resource loading and resource-leveling are one of those steps in the project plan. Resource loading is the total assigned work time divided by the number of hours that the project manager has to work.

2. Critical evaluation of project role and the responsibility of a project manager in delivering a successful project

The crucial role played by a project manager starts with making proper planning for the project (Mavi. and Standing 2018). On the other hand, project managers might have to spend time every day reviewing budgets for larger projects that have a wide variety of costs to keep track of in order to ensure that the project does not go over its allotted resources (Bashir et al. 2019).

Planning and development of project idea

The role of the project manager by analyzed the importance to develop the project and the idea of development in the report. The effective project management has the ability to maintain the project acquisition. The civil engineer chief for the constriction process of the library. The project development with the need of able professional in a project management event is important. The declaration of the project study reflecting the project management program. The development of the project become successful by the proper planning of the project management. The planning and executing of project management relates with the closing out projects. The entire project source, team, resources, materials are the important factor of the development of the project. The projector manager plans the whole project and delivers the project. The project manager helps integrating the ideas and success plan of the project.

Monitoring the process of work

The project monitoring work process is effective by the project manager views and perception. The project management process occurred with the risks of project. A project manager tracks the project metrics, process and do additional tasks for the successful of the project. With the allowance of their labor, employee and other project workers, the project manager is doing the job. The project manager evaluates the complete work process with performed quality control. Ultimately. He evaluates the quality of the performance that how the project beneficial for the project.

Resolving conflicts happens in project.

Sometimes the conflicts that happens in the workplace. The project manager resolves the project mange mental issues by problem solving techniques. They identify the problems, determine the causes for rise the issues, and generate the ideas for solving the problem. They select the best actions for solving the problem. Ultimately take the proper action for solve the problem that occurs.

One of the prime responsibilities of the project manager is to arrange the resources. It is very important for all project manager to check whether all of the required resources for the project has to face a huge number of difficulties in the process of delivering the project work within time due to the unavailability of resources (Zuo et al. 2018). This not only helps project managers ensure that the project is progressing according to plan, but it also makes it easier for them to move resources between projects as the need arises (Sojan and Ajayakumar, 2019). Along with that, the project managers have to stop the process of the construction project since the project manager becomes unable to manage the whole activities of the workers (Saad et al. 2020).

The project manager of this project work has to divide the whole project work into various segments so that the project manager can become able to conduct the whole project is thin the time (Guo, K. and Zhang, 2022). The project manager of this construction project has to play the responsibility to keep motivated the employees of this project working (Maskuriy et al. 2019). When all employees of a project work remain motivated due to the continuous motivation from the project manger, then it becomes very easy for the employees to work efficiently.

3. Project manager Role and approach of team building

3.1 Project manager role in development of new team

Roles, as well as responsibilities of a project manager, include the development of effective planning, processing of data in terms of the project as well as delivery of project within time. The project in consideration for the study purpose aims to develop a new academic building library for meeting requirements of teachers as well as students. Process of Team building

The team-building process archives by the proper prospect of the project management. Team building helps to achieve the success of project management. The process of team building includes.

  • Choose the team with good efficiency.
  • Set the rules for team building.
  • Set the team goal for the success of project management.
  • Achieve the goals with the build team to build team spirit.
  • Communicate with the team workers, highlight their issues and try to console them.

3.2 The best approach in team building and team management.

BSS052-6 Projects and Operates Management 5Figure 5: Best approaches (Source: Goerz, 2021)

The project manager’s role in terms of the development of a new project such as development of new building includes the effective assignment of resources. Effective utilization of resources within the project process reflects the process of organization of the new team as well. In terms of execution of the project process of the development of a new building in the University of Bedfordshire. Relevant resources in the project include housing of around one, 54,000books (Beds. ac, 2022). In order to execute the project, the manager needs to arrange at least 200 laptops. In order to ensure successful execution of the project, one impart task of manager includes development of a diverse workforce with engineers, mechanics, architects as well as construction laborers. One of the best approaches in terms of team management includes creation of awareness about employee feelings, incorporation of a clear communication approach, and development of coordination in-group.

Effective distribution of resources across proper distribution channels enhances the entire project process. According to a journal discussion by Goerz (2021), project managers need to ensure time management as well. Defining activity, as well as the development of schedule as per the activity process, accounts for tasks of the project manager as well. [Refer to appendix 12]

3.3 Application of project management theory

Factors Analysis
Optimal utilization of resources Effective resource utilization ensures proper execution of the work process.
Estimation of technical abilities Understanding of abilities of employees highlights about need for training and development process.
Protection of people and property It reflects meeting various concerns of employees.
Table 3: Factors of Project management theory

Creation of a new team includes understanding about capabilities of various members of the team. As per journal discussion by Alvarenga et al. (2018), creation of a new team includes meeting expectations of clients in the process. In view of Abd Majid (2020), the Management Theory of Henry Foyal highlights difficult aspects in terms of industrial activities. Different industrial activities include optimal utilization of resources, estimation of technical abilities, and above all protection of people and property. It helps in successful completion of overall functions of management. [Refer to appendix 13]

3.4 Management of team in execution of project life cycle

BSS052-6 Projects and Operates Management 6Figure 6: Project life cycle (Source: Li et al. 2020)

The project life cycle mainly includes four phases such as initiation, planning, execution, and closing of the project. As per the journal discussion of Li et al. (2020), monitoring of project life cycle focuses to improve chances in terms of achievement of goals. Initiation focuses on sorting out goals as well as scopes of the project. However, on the other hand, planning mainly determines the goal of the project goal and establishes budget accordingly. Execution and completion of tasks reflect recording costs of the project and keeping team members motivated. As per the journal discussion of Kemei et al. (2018), the project plan highlights the development of a building in connection with network bridges all across the campus. [Refer to appendix 14]

3.5 Tools and techniques to manage the project.

BSS052-6 Projects and Operates Management 7Figure 7: Tools and techniques (Source:Negaraet al. 2020)

In order to ensure successful completion of a project, incorporation of appropriate tools and techniques accounts as an important aspect. As per a journal discussion by Negara et al. (2020), agile project management accounts as an outstanding application. It helps managers to develop a detailed analysis of the project planning. Managers of the project of development of new buildings in the University of Bedfordshire need to adapt planning procedure as per the changes required within the project (Beds. ac, 2022) it helps in improvement within the developmental stage of the project. Agile project management tools use techniques such as DSDM that focus to meet business needs of the project as well. It also helps in delivery of quality products within a given time of the project.

 3.6. Role of the sponsors

The sponsors of project management administer the project finance. they approve the ideas and participants make the key decisions. The development of the project scope and project charter for the actions of the stakeholders. The major responsibilities of a project sponsor include negotiating funding for the project’s success, identifying the project benefits, reviewing the changes in the project management, involve the stakeholders to maintain the project studies by using the strategies of the project method.

4. Critical Discussion and reflection

4.1. Review of lessons

Different lessons learned from the project include understanding about roles and responsibilities of a project manager. In the opinion of Phan et al. (2022), a relative understanding of various tools and techniques of the project management process helps in successful completion of a particular given project. I think the selection of an appropriate tool for the project management process helps in the development of ensuring successful completion of a particular project. I believe lessons about techniques and tools of project management can account for important aspects of the entire process. Understanding the planning and execution process also accounts for a major turning point (Taje and Smallwood, 2021). Above everything, the most important aspect of project management includes understanding the roles and responsibilities of a manager.  I understand the various approaches within the management process as well.

BSS052-6 Projects and Operates Management 8Figure 8: Lessons learnt (Source: Modranský et al. 2020)

I developed an understanding of the crucial tasks of managers. According to a journal discussion by Modranský et al. (2020), identification of factors helps in boosting the overall process of project management. As highlighted, the task of the manager as per the chosen project includes effective distribution of allotted resources and effective management of tools and techniques utilized for the project. In view of Lima and Gomes (2022), identification of right manager successfully improves the overall project process. It also helps in mitigating any form of loopholes existing within the project.

4.2. Lessons learned from working in a group

Performing within a team helps in developing an understanding of effective utilization of available resources as well as skills. As per the journal opinion of Maher and Karlıdağ-Dennis (2022), performance within a team helps in breaking down different tasks into appropriate small parts. I think one important lesson learned from working within a group reflects the development of an understanding of the importance of coordination. In the opinion of Tian (2020), appropriate coordination helps to meet the objectives of the project. As highlighted above, one important aspect of the project includes construction of the new building in the right and appropriate way.

Performing within groupteaches about the importance of mutual understanding. As per a journal discussion by Makui et al. (2018), understanding the needs and requirements of every employee helps in boosting the overall business process. I believe understanding between team members plays a key role in the appropriate execution of planning projects. It also includes the effective distribution of job roles within the team.

4.3. Reflection on individual learning

Individual learning about the project reflects a significant understanding of roles and responsibilities of a manager. In the opinion of Englund and Bucero (2019), understanding the importance of team coordination helps in improving the overall process. Managers need to develop a sound understanding of the criteria of the operating market. I think the biggest responsibility rests on the shoulder of the managers of the project. It includes assessment of various factors in reaction to the job role and develops an understanding of the changes within the project. As per the condition of the market, often requirements as well as proposals of the chosen project change.

Individual perspective in terms of the project development process includes development of understanding of the tasks of the project. As per a journal discussion by de Oliveira and Rabechini (2019), the understanding market conditions reflects on development of an effective project management plan. An ideal and appropriate project management plan includes identification of processes relevant to the chosen. As the task here reflects on development of a building and needs a diverse workforce, I think one important aspect includes development of coordination within the team.

Conclusion

The study reflects on the development of understanding of various attributes of the project process. It includes understanding market conditions and thus developing project planning accordingly. Development of an effective project process aims to meet conditions of the project. As stated, the target of the project includes development of a new building within the University. In order to ensure the successful completion of the project, one important aspect includes the development of bonding with different employees of the group. It also includes the development of an appropriate plan and ensuring a succession of projects on a limited budget.
