1. Introduction

The present report focuses on the analysis of project management of Taunton Warehouse for Supermarket X. This report will focus on the aspect of project management with the help of Star Work PRINCE2 methodology. Supermarket X is one of the major UK food retailers with more than 400 stores. The market serves more than 9 million customers a week with the help of 32000 employees. This report will focus on creation of 860000 sq ft composite warehouse in Taunton, England. Discussions regarding systematic understanding of project life cycle will be included in this study along with phases of project life cycle with the help of PRINCE2 methodology. Critical evaluation and recommendations regarding PRINCE2 methodology will even be included in this report.

2. Main Body

2.1 Project Life Cycle Theory

Project life cycle is a sequence which involves different phases of a project, these phases start from planning of a project to the closure stage. Sequence and number of phases differ from project to project as the life cycle for a construction project is distinct from other project cycles. 3. Conclusion

Based on the above analysis it can be concluded that the use of PRINCE2 methodology in Taunton Warehouse project management is going to be a success. It has been found out that the project life cycle poses four processes which will be followed in Taunton development in order to achieve successful closure. PRINCE2 methodology in project management derives seven specific rules based on principles, themes and processes. These will be used in case of the Taunton warehouse project for Supermarket X in order to complete the project successfully. Evaluation and control are the main aspects of the PRINCE2 methodology.

4. Recommendations

There are several methods of gaining success in the Taunton project for Supermarket X. Success factors largely vary from project to project; however, several success factors are listed below:

  • It is extensively important for a project manager to know all the information related to the business case and the organization in case of such construction projects. It is suggested that the project manager should gain extensive insights into Supermarket X and its previous ventures as well.
  • It is suggested that identification of project requirement are significant since it will help the project manager to set extensive project boundaries for all the workers (Jaziri, 2018).
  • It is suggested that Supermarket X should focus on recruitment of an experienced project manager as the warehouse creation is a lengthy and huge project in the aspect of construction (Coppola et al. 2016).
  • It is suggested that the project manager should extensively focus on communication aspect of a project as transparent communication will lead to successful project closure.
  • Documentation of the Taunton project is required to be done appropriately as the project might include change management after September 2020.
