Narrative Reflection

In modern times, the dynamic business environment needs practical skills to address existing business problems. Further, the utilization of the relevant skills can pave the way for the further development of the business (Rahmatillahand, 2019). The requirements of the skills can be met only by continuous efforts from the elementary stage of individual development (Körkkö et al. 2020). “Personal Development Plan” has the ability to prepare individuals for a specific job role. In order to effectively create the development plan, it is very much needed to understand own future goals and the required skills and knowledge for them.

My future goal is to develop a cyber security company to protect users from various cyber-attacks. The cyber security firm needs to perform various IT roles like Scripting, detection of intrusion, controlling the network security, controlling the operating systems and so on. In order to best excel in this role, a person needs to have a clear knowledge of the various programming skills. The skills like C, C++, PHP and Java are the most crucial in performing any cyber security role (Yamin and Katt, 2019). A clear understanding of these skills helps me not to effectively perform the management of the cyber security firm but to help others effectively perform their roles. The knowledge of Cloud computing and SaaS models are also needed. The essential knowledge of GIAC security and ethical hacking is also required in this company (Yamin and Katt, 2019). In order to work collaboratively and effectively express own concepts and ideas “decision making” and communication skills play a huge role. It is witnessed that Cyber security attacks are changing their nature each year therefore the management of the cyber security firm needs to gather information on various cyber threats (Ani et al. 2019). Further, penetration testing and vulnerability knowledge are also required to address the newer issues.

In the case of my own individual strengths, I have completed my bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science. Further, I also have one year of experience in the security of networks. It is because of my past educational field I have the proper knowledge of the programming language, which I believe to be helpful in my future job role. However, I have knowledge of IT skills but it needs to be updated from time to time. It is because of this I need to update my IT skills according to time. I lack communication skills because I faced many difficulties in project management at the university. I understand that it is due to a lack of expertise in this skill I am not able to utilize my knowledge in this topic. Although I have general knowledge of the existing vulnerability of cyber security, I do not have any idea about future vulnerability. Further, I am not an expert in penetration testing which can cause trouble in future job roles. It can be seen that the operating system of computers is developing each year. However, I have knowledge of the past operating system, therefore, it is because of this I am not able to create an effective cyber security solution for the new operating system. In order to address, the requirements, it is very much important for me to develop knowledge of the new operating systems.

In order to address the challenges related to communication ability, I plan to join various seminars. I believe that analysing the seminars organized by others will help me to formulate my own communication strategies, which I can imply in the working environment to attract the team. Further, the continuous work on the lack areas also robust my communication abilities. In case of updating myself on the newer II skills, I have planned to work with a cyber security firm for a short period. In order to develop decision-making qualities, I am enthusiastic about joining the various NGO firms because these organizations are continuously dependent on their own decisive qualities. The utilization of my own decisive native can help me systematically strengthen the quality of decisions. The mass use of cloud computing services makes it crucial for cyber security providers to make a deep analysis of its operation. Therefore, it is also crucial for me to study this topic so that the safe practices of managing the services that are formulated. In order to expand my individual knowledge about the vulnerabilities of this industry, I need to develop research abilities in me. I believe that in case I am able to develop this quality in a less amount of time I am able to best utilize this in the speedy structuring of the firms. Further, as a manager of a cyber security firm, I have to develop human resources management abilities to get effective results from the employee.

The lack of ability in testing facilities can prevent one from creating an effective cyber security solution. Effective knowledge of the testing facilities can help to find out the issues associated with the prepared solution. Therefore, there is scope for improving the existing solutions. In order to meet this requirement, I need to gain knowledge from the persons that are currently working in the testing of cyber security solutions. It is earlier discussed that I aimed to join a cyber security firm to gain the effective knowledge about IT skills therefore this can indirectly help me to gain knowledge in this case. I firmly believed that in case follow a proper development plan of personal skills using the “Personal Development Plan” I should address my own lacking in a short span of time. Effective knowledge in this case not only helps me to develop my own qualities but also helps to support others. Therefore, the continuous support of own development and the development of others can result in sustainable business practices. It is therefore, expected that these all facilities can help to provide solutions to the dynamic chances of digital technology and its related areas. The effective solution will also help the business to make loyal practices among the employee and the customers and thereby the success of the business.
