Nowadays, climate change is one of the natural cause and increase level of green-house emissions. Here are identified the environmental issues which has been faced by M&S.

Climate change– It is one of the environmental concern that increases the rate of pollution in couple of time. It has been represented different destructive impact on the climate situation or condition. Whenever, it has been increased the situation of climate because of pollutions such as soil, water and water. Nowadays, M&S has been used several kind of elements like metals and plastic. These kind of harmful products are directly affecting current environmental condition.

Environmental pollutions– It is the most common environment issue which takes a huge number of years to recover complex situation. M&S has been used the toxic materials in their product development. These kind of toxic materials are eliminating a poisons gases in the atmosphere (Bruzzone et. al. 2021). On the other hand, water contamination is also identified by acid rain, oil-based slicks and air contamination has been created by poisons gases. It can be discharged at the time of manufacturing, burning. For example- M&S has been manufacturing a new products and services. Therefore, It has been increased the mechanical waste and developing a situation of water & air pollutions.

Environmental issues impact on the M&S and its suitability

Based on analysis, it has been identified two environmental issues such as climate change and air, water pollutions. M&S has already aware about these kind of environmental issues because it is directly affecting on the business profitability as well as productivity in marketplace. The main aim is to reduce level of greenhouse gases approximately 80% and also cutting their supply chain process.

The sustainable strategy plan is one of the best approach for M&S and focused on the eco, ethical commitments. The plan should be included improving the level of energy efficiency in United Kingdom. Company is always tried to fulfil all essential facilities by 40% and minimizing carrier bag usage by 70-80%. If in case, it will be spreading mission of sustainable strategy plan that help to save more than 750 million of M&S. Generally, it has been identified clothing enterprises and achieving 100% sourcing, 27% usage sustainable raw materials in product development (Kornberger et. al. 2021). In recently, M&S has been eliminating the concept of black packaging. It means that achieve 100% sustainable raw materials and reduce 70% of emission as compared to other retailer. This kind of approach is not only successfully implementing sustainable strategy plan but also inspiring or motivating people to adopt concept of sustainability approach on regular basis.

UN sustainable development goals

The agenda of UN is achieving sustainable development because it provides better approach in terms of prosperity & peace for people, plant and into future aspect. Nowadays, it has been already identified environmental related issues such as climate change, air pollutions (Kumar et. al. 2022). These kind of roles played by M&S to achieve sustainability (Westerman, 2021). In recently, company is effectively face a challenge related to the environment sustainability due to lack of natural resources. On the other hand, M&S who has adopting sustainable strategy plan to eliminate environmental issues and developing eco-friendly environment. It is helping to manage risk or threat and achieving sustainable goals or objectives. To reduce the level of pollution, M&S has tried to adopt environment protection regulation which provide better idea to understand current situation of environment.
