1. Introduction
Structural adaptation is a concept in which the old buildings can be reused in a suitable way and for meeting the demands of their clients in order to prepare this place in an approach of living. The first proposal that can be provided for the client as a consultant is that they can buy these buildings and reuse this structure which seems to be most appropriate for them. Along with it is not too far away from the city a cafe with hostelling facility can easily be performed in 4,500 sq.ft areas (knightfrank.co.uk, 2021). Beside this construction area the organization can extend easily in vertical conditions and prepares floors in the top level of the buildings as the building is present in a single floor only and it cannot serve the huge facilities in the single floor [Reffered to Appendix 1]. According to Hasik et al. (2019), it can be advantageous for them as they can grab the entire brewing materials and furnished floors with lots of cushions and tables already being present in the store.
Proposal 2
There is a lot of open space in the exterior field and if the new client needs to enhance the space or floor areas they need to enhance its extra faces. According to Lai and Kontokosta (2019), it can help them in enhancing the areas at the ground floor and due to these reasons automatically they can prepare some rooms in the upper floors. Before enhancing their top floors a test needs to be conducted that they follow walls can support the excess loads or not. Beside this actual floor area can be measured from the top floor and it needs to be calculated at the initial stages before buying the plot and no issues can arise in the further segments.
Technical information about the structural implementation of the viable two options
The King post truss is used in the entire structure and the top portion is not concreted but it is covered by using advestors. The building is of single floor and does not acquire any kind of stairs to access the top portions and for maintaining sustainability in a suitable way. According to Al-Obaidi et al. (2017), the adequate portions leftover beside the sitting arrangement needs to be enlarged and provides more access for the people to enjoy their foods within a specific time period. As the areas got increased the new client needs to concrete their top floors and provides an access to prepare rooms for the visitors and perform their business in a suitable way.
A refurbished arrangement needs to be taken into account and prepares their cafes in a more attractive nature by posting some photographs that helps an idea to get the previous history of these buildings and other information. The test of the bricks needs to be performed and any kind of efflorescence’s (White patches that generally present on the body of the bricks) the portions needs some further treatments. According to Mosharraf and Tümer (2018), these things need to be tested before the plastering and painting procedures as few portions need further treatment and it can be recovered by alternative ways [Reffered to Appendix 2]. As the building is prepared in the 19th century the portions that ge4ts damaged need to construct columns in these portions and new portions that need further construction rises on the basis of designing proper foundation details and rectangular columns.
Further enhancement of the broader visibility of the two options
The columns that seemed to be prepared nerds to be designed on the basis of CP 110 and limit state design approaches need to be conducted for the designing of foundations, columns, beams and slabs. The estimate needs to be impacted while preparing the slabs, a suitable dog legged stairs having larger width and breadth and the details about the requirement of the products and its market prices (Hong and Yu, 2020). In the picture it has been shown that the water facilities have been enhanced to a greater extent and it seemed to be quite perfect for handling the cafes.
Recommendations for the client
- Needs to retain the same structure and provide the old vibes for customers- The new client needs to attract their customers with the old vibes of the bakery and provides adequate services for their customers. In order to retain this existing design a proper plan needs to be prepared by using the modern software’s such as Revit or any other BIM software’s.
- Needs to maintain all the safety measures as required- The safety measures that need to be prepared in a cafe must be followed such as implementation of adequate fire extinguishers. According to Jing et al. (2020), along with it, it needs to leave some spaces around the building structure as guided by their government for plastering, painting and any other purposes.
- Needs to remain sustainable- Clients need to prepare a load calculation by using the Stadd pro software’s and design the associated bending moments and forces that come in their buildings. According to Yu (2017), after identifying the appropriate amount of loads the building materials need to be chosen and to decrease the cost of the structure they can use blocks and reduce the weight of the structure to a huge extent. Despite that at the top level of the building they can also arrange rooftop restaurants with lots of green plants to enhance the greenery in their buildings in the later stages.
Technical information about the existing building
The building seems to be developed with the high standards bricks and the doors present in the bakery seem to be a single door and louvered windows. According to Foster and Saleh (2021), in order to reuse this building in a suitable way the asbestos sheets that were covered in the top are kept transparent in a few portions and it helps them in gaining adequate amounts of lights in the bakery shop. Material requirement, marketing requirement and labor requirement needs to be taken into account for enhancing the technical viability of the entire project work. Material requirement is considered as an approach for finding the differences of gross requirement and adequate inventory for calculating the necessary equipment.
Labor requirements need to be taken into account and maintain the equation of regular time production necessary for the production per hour (Jing et al. 2020). As per demand of the project 25 manors and 10 workers can complete the project within 8 months as per the change in capacity. The position of the building is quite appropriate in delivering the raw materials in the spot as it is present on the road side and easy for lifting of the product in the upper floors.
3. Conclusion
Based on the above discussion it can be concluded that the entire essay was prepared on the basis of structural adaptation and reuse of a building structure for further enhancement.
