LNG Petronet has been closely monitored and is working closely by the tribunal so that trees can be planted to make forest and the green initiative can be run and operated. The Air(Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act was made in 1981 so that air pollution can be prevented and controlled (India.gov.in. 2021). The ambient air control quality was made in this act so that air pollution can be combated and polluting fuels and substances can be prohibited.
However, LNG Petronet has made serious efforts in combating the air pollution by installing filters and emission control plants in order to curb the air pollution and release of methane and greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. The Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act was established in the year 1974 which aimed at prevention and control of water pollution and to maintain the wholesomeness of the water by preserving it. The act prohibits the discharge of pollutants in the water bodies and lays down penalties for non-compliance. LNG Petronet strictly adheres to the need of the hour to preserve the water bodies by not discharging any waste into the water bodies and maintaining treatment plants for the waste generated so that it can be properly treated before releasing into the water bodies. The Environment Protection Act was established in the year 1986 which aims at protection and improvement of the environment (Moef.gov.in. 2021).

Furthermore, it may be argued that LNG Petronet takes initiative to plant trees such as mangrove in the coastal belts which helps in saving the coastal areas from tsunami and landslides as the roots of the trees bind the land and saves it from soil erosion.
