Assignment Sample on HR7003 Managing Human and Financial Resources

1. Introduction

In the sector of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), Weber food is considered to be one of the leading global organisations. The mission of the company is to provide healthy and nutritious food to consumers at a very reasonable price. The company consists of almost 9000 employees and their primary products are dairy products, confectionery, soft drinks, processed food products and soft drinks. The value of this food company is mainly based on fresh and real food and it is quality accessible. The company focuses on sustainability for a better environment and less effect on it. The aim of the study is to manage the issues of finance and HR in Weber foods. Proposals are also provided in the study to develop the process of delivery of HR at weber. Costing and responsibilities and implementation plan of the company are analysed and risk registers are also evaluated.

2. Primary HRM issues in Weber foods

Health and safety issues: Issues concerned with the logistic process have a severe impact on the quality of food products. Large amounts of products can be destroyed if the problems of logistics are not solved. The line manager has contacted the regional HR manager of the company to look out for the matter of internal conflict that is threatening the relationship with the supplier. The issue that emerged is concerned with the safety and health issue that has to be managed with proper leadership theory (AlZgool et al. 2021). Team leader named Pat raised an acquittal on the health and safety executive named Mick for quitting her team and left in a most treacherous condition. This is an urgent issue that needs to be resolved by the HR team for the benefit of the company.

Pat is extremely concerned with the health and safety of the employees as she sees that the members of the team are getting injured by a problematic electric cable.  She started to blame Mick for all the things that emerged with this issue without having any real thought. Bonding between Mick and Pat is extremely poor which is creating a serious issue in the company. HR of the company is summoned for the demonstration when safety and health issues arise. Business is at risk of lawful fines and complications when the proof of the arising of this issue is not shown (Hauff et al. 2021). This is one of the primary issues with the HRM process of the global food company.

Warehousing issue: Food companies have discovered that the production cost of the food is severely higher than instantaneous competitors. Prices on the shelves are extremely high for its top-rated products like a breakfast cereal bar and a breakfast cereal due to higher production costs. Issues in the warehouse emerged due to higher costs in the production than its instantaneous competitors. Another problem arises regarding the change in working practice and contracts. As opined by Girisha and Nagendrababu (2020), managers of the company are concerned with this because their employees may get impacted highly as per various elements. Different elements in the lives of employees include people with caring duties or the person with disabilities can be severely impacted.

This problem can also influence engagement across the complete organisation because it is not relevant to the values that are stated. Though it is not relevant to the stated values but is essential for competitiveness and finance. Warehousing issue has become an integral issue for the HRM as several regional centres of the company are facing low engagement of employees (Sharma and Gursoy, 2018). It is considered that regional centres like Tokyo, Chicago, Medellin and Frankfurt can be severely impacted further which the HR must look for. HR faced serious issues with the engagement of employees and warehousing problems which are to be sorted with proper comprehension.

3. Proposal to improve the delivery process of HR

Several issues that the HR team faced such as health and safety issues, warehousing issues must be developed in their process of delivery.

Development of safety issues of employees: HR of the company must meet the conflicts of the logistics and maintain the relationship with the supplier. Relationship theory of leadership can help HR to resolve the problems of health and safety of the employees. Transformational or relationship theory of leadership mainly focuses on the relationship that is formed between the leaders and followers (Fast and Rankin, 2018). Management of health and safety can be easier if the bond between leaders and followers are developed where the leader motivates and inspires the employees and sees their importance in the company.

HR must impose the relationship theory in the company to form a better connection to resolve this issue. As opined by Uslu (2019), HR must record the details of safety and health information for some legal cause which is similar to maintaining data about the qualification of professionals and membership of trade bodies. Maintaining records on health and safety helps the employees to keep safe at work and makes sure that the company helps to meet its lawful obligations towards the public and employees. The Department of HR is the best equipment for recording the information of employees.

Development of employee management and warehousing issue: For reducing the cost of production, an effective approach based on the method of lean production should be implemented by the HR team. The lean production method works on the five principles which include value, stream, perfection, pull and flow. The approach of lean production mainly focuses on eliminating waste by ensuring quality products at an extremely low price (Tefera et al. 2020). Zero hour contracts must be imposed by HR to reduce costs and make warehousing employees work more flexibly. Zero hour contracts offer ideally greater flexibility and work balance in life. One of the greatest advantages of Zero hour contracts is effectiveness and flexibility. Through the approaches implemented by HR, the management of employees and issues of the warehouse can be resolved.

Human relationship theory and system management theory must be imposed by the HR of Weber foods for the development of warehousing issues and employee management. As opined by Suprapti et al. (2020), working conditions in the warehouse can be improved with the implementation of this theory and attentions provided to the employees and make them feel valued. Experiments give rise to the theory of human relations so that the employees are encouraged and motivated by personal attention. System management theory helps for the success of an organisation that relies on interdependence and interrelation between subsystems and synergy. As per the theory of system management, employees are a critical factor for the success of the business (Mohamed Elias et al. 2017). HR and managers of the company must work in collaboration on several programs and work to make sure it is successful.
