Introduction

It had been once a quite rough experience in one’s work, where although one may be completely aware of the work and briefed about the different roles that one had to assume. Despite that, one may be in a state of great confusion, where the different work roles may not have been effectively communicated to that person. In this reflection, there are some problems that have aroused within the organization and have been described with reference to the individual feelings and description of the problem.

Critical reflection

Description

I have recalled one of my old days where I faced a prodigal problem, mostly due to my inexperience in a completely new worksite. In my whole career of mine, never have I been in such an extraneous situation where I have been swept off by all personal previous experiences. I was quite nervous, and I bear no embarrassment to tell the actual experience of mine now, although the memories have been thin now. I was working as a blogger in a real site, that was a blogging company long years back, one of the positions that I have always asked to work in. Before joining in, I had gone through a good research about the company to understand if the work atmosphere has been quite healthy. In a detailed and compromised work environment where employees are treated with stress and humiliation, a failure for the employees to resolve such stress and anxiety may lead to heart attacks and dizziness (Chienwattanasook and Jermsittiparsert, 2019).

The different work roles that I have received there were puzzling for me, and it had made to the inside mechanism that I had to perform flawlessly. The incident occurred after five months I had been in my job, and I was required to submit my work within a period of the first few hours to cover exclusive footage of a bombing in a mosque. It becomes a moral duty of the administration to overview the situation and motivate the employees in the case that they are quite randomized and puzzled about the situation (Williamson et al., 2017). The blog had lots of censorship, and I was required to follow every censor limit and produce my blog, on which I got confused as to the mechanism of writing without prior experience to deliver the article within the stipulated time in a restricted base of literature had held me back.

The perfect condition of working that I have set in my mind had then become the only barrier to stop me from working evenly. In the preview of my earlier situation back at work, where I have been working in the combined roles, I now reflect on having felt the constant feeling of dizziness, a severe headache, and perhaps other critical health conditions too. I thought at that time to inform the Human Resource Department about the crisis, as it had turned to become one of the most critical stages of my life at work. There had been an observation that the issue in the workplace had not been created by an individual, where it may have been created by someone else of whom one may be completely unaware (Siahaan, 2018).

All that I might think then was how to end up in my work being finished with the job, submit the job within the deadline and how it had affected me in a negative way.

Other bloggers who had to submit their work files along with me, had felt this continuous sense of being aligned with incredible work pressure too, where all along my life I had to work on familiar work processes. The thing that I felt lacking most was the familiarity with my job, and I was quite pushed into the palace of loneliness with no companion or upper hand to guide me throughout the process.

Evaluation

The good thing that I could conclude so far about the negative experience I had felt, was that my coping ability had been uplifted and boosted much which any situation could not have affected otherwise. The thing that went well that day, as I could remember, was that my consciousness did not give up and self-humiliated me, which was a powerful mechanism I had drawn upon serving in previous companies before. My contribution of mine to the organization has been known by me mostly, although I may now stand much indifferent to the memories of mine.

This fact holds true that my contribution had been effective, where my blog had attracted various political upfront leaders and a small media circus to be proactive about the issue of terrorism. The tremendous pressure that had gotten me into a state of work-related paranoia, had been resolved after many employees have complained. Stress alone may reduce the annual turnover capacity of an employee, and it has been one of the influential factors for not only the worker but also the management system (Chung et al., 2017). The work environment had been modified where the Human Resource Management had been made more responsible for the employee situations, and a weekly meeting was set up afterward with a psychologist from the company’s help desk.

Analysis

The work crisis was resolved, although it took the employer quite a good period to observe the situation back then and hold a responsible decision afterward. I could have been one of the targets of the failing management of the company at that time, although I thought to report the matter first to the company’s decisive body. The decisive body of the organization took the action, which was at first not directed especially to amend the situation but to create internal harmony. It needs mentioning that the voicing of the protest from the group of employees constituted to improve the situation on a broader scale of amendment together. The theory that has highlighted the fact that organizations need not follow a particular structure but instead follow the regularity of the situation as they appear and hold the case responsible as situations evolve is called the Contingency Theory.

This theory had the effect of explaining the question as to the reason behind any organizational failure that may lead to the following of a particular set business model. This theory expresses the need for the team leader and the management to act according to the situation that has evolved, and have a rational understanding of the situation beforehand (Vidal et al., 2017). The management had been following the singular business plan which had led to the disaster that had followed up, and the Contingency Theory explains how the leader could have been more responsible to take the action to act according to the evolved situation. I reflect on the task of the leader in that management position, where I was required to control the systematic failure of the organization, and act immediately according to the work formation.

Conclusion

Looking back on the negative situation that had made me cornered to the feeling of extreme emotion, and the simultaneous occurrence of the power to cope up with the situation had impacted me a long way. If I reflect more on the situation now, I would need the skill of better organizational capability to amend the erroneous management decision and indifference of top-level managers.

The Action Plan that I have adopted is to find the grey area that lies in my module of operation, that needs a more dedicated way of improvement. The construction of this Action Plan has been quite effective for the operational improvement of my working. There is a need to create a Standardized Action Plan for every employee as felt by me in an organization, which may minimize the failure that I once have felt, through an adaptive system (Emelianovaet al., 2020).

Conclusion

This reflective essay has been the description of the personal experience of an individual where one has faced a work-related issue, which had made one go through different emotions, and had brought out the area of resolving the weaknesses and strength. The identification of such areas of improvement and adopting an action plan through the concepts of Gibb’s Reflective Model and Contingent Theory have been represented in a methodical way.
