Introduction

Self-reflection

Description

Gibbs reflective cycle is a model of self-analysis and preparedness and I have also developed this reflection as to relate my accounts with leadership style and effectiveness in organizational context. I have experienced my role as a leader in the internship programme where I have found that cultural intelligence and interpersonal skills are the broad aspects of leadership effectively and I am lacking these two aspects which need future development to positively reflect in decision making and team building for innovative initiation. My personality traits need a positive assumption of a big five personality test for relating leadership style and effectiveness with change management aspects. Specifically, openness, conscientiousness, agreeableness and Neuroticism abbreviated OCEAN is defining my personal influence of leadership and effectiveness (Refer to Appendix-1).

Feeling

The coordination with a diverse cultural workforce is quite tough for me as employees from different corners of the world vary in language, practice, beliefs, religion, ethnicity and habits is not easy to integrate and collectively reflect for market competition. I have fed that my openness is quite high which indicates my creative nature that supports my leadership to resolve the uncertainty with diverse solutions. The barriers of cultural intelligence are binding my leadership effectively in a negative way with mismanagement of team and lacking the collaboration in the organizational environment to form organizational culture.

I have evaluated that the leadership effectiveness is a lot dependent on interpersonal skills which is expelled through strong communication skills, negotiation, conflict management and decision-making skills to resolve uncertainties in a pragmatic way. Conscientiousness with around 58% reflects my respect for individual dignity and differences which are also necessary factors for developing the cultural intelligence and reflect in business practice. Analysis

I have analysed that I am an introverted person and keep myself away from social rewards and over expression which strengthen my power of will to combat the uncertainties with positive support. It also reflects that I am an agreeable person who needs to accommodate the situations according to the prospectus. The leadership effectiveness lies on leadership acceptance in employees and influence to mobilise the employee and business productively through decision making to shape the organizational benefit in a decorative way.

Conclusion

Through Gibbs reflective cycle it is clear that I am lacking the capability of developing an effective team and creating bonds among colleagues for future development and innovation for organizational effectiveness and competence. The lack of interpersonal skills also create distance among the subordinates and co-workers to stabilise the business environment without proper communication (Putranto et al., 2022).

Leadership style and effectiveness

Leadership style and effectiveness ensure a high pace in organizational development and productivity to competitively grow marketing share with positive earning indices through directing right decisions and bend the organisational movement according to leadership arguments. The situational leadership and transactional leadership are quite effective and contemporary to deliver the business direction through leadership effectiveness and organizational rate of success in market competition. The organization business policy reflects the leadership visionary and purposes more active to the employees and followers where my learning through internship program is quite supportive to gauge the effectiveness of these two leadership theories to forecast the organizational growth through leadership effectiveness.

Situational leadership

The situational leadership is the dynamic and more argued leadership theory through which leaders generalise the situation and uncertainties through personal readiness, flexibility and wide range of knowledge and skill. It supports the business continuation through thwarting the risks and uncertainties more adaptability with the concurrent market standard with business transformation. The situational leadership employs a unique combination of four strategic leadership styles to reflect the situation comfortably with highest probability of success rate on specific situations. Directing, coaching, participating and navigating are four fundamental aspects of situational leadership to delegate the situations positively for conquering work pressure and business target in the market operation. The directing style of behaviour implements the leadership potential in the employees which will reflect the employee engagement and effectivity through mobilising capability of the leaders. Secondly the selling or coaching phase interacts with employee perceptions about the projects and business happenings more closely. On the other hand, the participative leadership takes active part in operational activity to assess the employee complexities and obstacles in performance and supervise the regularity and infrastructure development for high-speed business output. I found this leadership style as a systematic and progressive to practice as a leader to resolve the business issues more smoothly and engage the employee with learning and development along with changing business contexts and modernization (Thompson and Glasø, 2018).

Transactional leadership

The leadership is best described as managerial leadership who are busy with coordination, collaboration and cooperation for international or other big corporations focusing on its responsibility of supervision, organization and evaluation of group performance. It is often obsessed with order and structure depending upon organizational value, rules and regulation are in order to deliver the business performance. It motivates the employee effort through specific reward and punishments for low performance which creates a culture of healthy competition within the organizational environment to over perform the teammates and colleagues for recognition and organizational development through leadership direction and association on developing the project in a pragmatic way for encouraging the clients and partners with essential perfections. This leadership practice is effective for fulfilling the short-term goal where in the long term it is vulnerable for leadership efficiency, flexibility as it is strictly adhered to policy and regulation in the competitive market operation. The transactional leadership is predictive and fast paced to achieve the target where it negatively influences the morale of the employee and limiting the creativity which defy the job satisfaction of individuals with sustainable work-life balance (Alrowwad and Abualoush, 2020).

Conclusion

From the above all discussions it has been concluded that my personal effectiveness as a leader is quite weak due to cultural intelligence and interpersonal skills to delegate the employee force effectively for organizational growth and strategically advancements in market share and reputation. The leadership style and effectiveness is concurrent to leadership acceptance in the employee mindset to invigorate the organizational internal and external environment through change management for competitive result in market operation. Other than that, transactional leadership is effective for short term targets where situational leadership guide and explains the task in a systematic way to address the uncertainties.
