Developing profession identity

Reflection

A strong professional identity of leaders is required for efficient leadership criteria in managing organizational performance with the influential power of leaders. Professional identity creates a value of personal ethics and develops influential power to monitor workplace behaviors and organizational ethics by controlling the whole work power in the organization.

I found interpersonal issues affecting workplace behavior and leadership qualities that impacted my capabilities of motivating others in the workplace as a leader. According to Talha et al. (2020), several processes of making professional identity are honesty and integrity during self-evaluation and marketing professional identity with identifying required leadership criteria required to be developed.

Self-reflection and feedback are the two most effective ways of improving professional identity of leaders and I can develop my professional identification by taking feedback from other team members and taking those positively to improve my capabilities.

Analysis

A strong professional identity helps me to understand my value in the organization and helps to determine the behavioural aspects of my team members and for that reason; I am proceeding to improve my professional identity. According to Luo (2021), clear identification of professional qualities enables work frequently with a positive sense as leaders know their professional abilities and deficiencies.

Issues

Preferring Personal Interests: Preferning personal interests and motives for organisational growth can be harmful to the organisation.

Unfair Treatment: Unfair treatment of the employees and the staff is a contradiction to the basic skills of the leaders.

Financial Conflict: The financial conflict between the staff and the inability of the leaders to manage is an issue for the organisations.

Previous Work Experience: The lack of experience of the leaders including previous works and experiences can provide a threat to organisational growth.

Action

Moreover, with this development leaders can avoid any toxic environment, and people in the organization that improve their overall leadership qualities by improving workplace behavior. In my opinion, I can improve my workplace behavior by developing this leadership capability and for that reason; I am searching for my best capabilities and weakness of my leadership capabilities. After identifying my weak areas I can develop strategies for developing my identity by shaping my weak areas and thus I can influence more people in the workplace as a successful leader.

Concept of self and self-management

Reflection

Leaders are responsible for motivating all their team members and inspiring them to achieve the organizational goal and for this motivation they should have efficient communication skills. Effective communication is important for gaining the trust of all other workers and making them engaged in the workplace. According to Bratton (2020), ineffective communication of leaders leads to misinterpretation of organizational goals and hampers the workplace environment.

As per my observation, communication is an essential aspect of exceptional skills of leaders and for becoming a great leader one should be a great communicator. I have observed leaders are responsible for promoting values and ethics within an organization and for this reason they have capabilities of clear communication with others.

Delegation is also an important capability of leaders as effective delegation is a time-saving tool and inspirational strategy for employees (Jun et al. 2021). I think this delegation capability depends on the communication capabilities of leaders and helps to understand talents of other team members.

Analysis

Effective communication and delegation are necessary for the leaders to improve the overall organisation’s performance (Augusta and Milesi, 2018). I will discuss in the next section to improve the organisation’s improvement.

Difficult Personalities: I have identified that there are some difficult personalities with individual identities as leaders in any organisation. The leaders may have skills and knowledge for the organisational benefits, but there must be issues regarding their difficult personalities to communicate with the people of the organisation including the team members (Trey et al. 2020).

Inflexible Attitudes: I think the leaders must have some flexibility with the team members, and staff, specifically with the stakeholders and the managers. Since the leaders have to coordinate people, inflexibility must be an issue for the organisations to grow.

Lack Of Ability And Skill: I have recognised some leaders in organisations, with lack skills. The leaders are unable to match the basic criteria of any leaders. This lack of skills shows the inefficiency of any leaders, which is the greatest barrier to the organisation’s progress.

Action

Decision making and problem solving.

Reflection

Leaders are responsible for making efficient decisions to improvement of work performance of the organization and its employees. Hence, they must have efficient decision-making capabilities and skills for easier problem-solving. According to Morgan (2020), to achieve proper decision-making skills leaders must follow four steps identification of challenges and develop appropriate solutions for the problem.

After identification of the probable solution leaders must weigh their chosen options and then make a final choice to solve the existing problem (Yacob et al. 2018).

Analysis

Basic skills of a leader are to take some critical and important decisions on behalf of the organization (Huang et al. 2020). The decision-making ability of the leaders shows the problem-solving ability of the leaders for organisational growth.

Cognitive Blocks that impede the ability to correctly solve problems: I think the cognitive blocks of the organisation are necessary for organisational growth. The cognitive ability and the skills of the leader will help the leader in facing the problems and it will help the organisation, and its immense prosperity (Huang et al. 2020). Lack of cognitive skills and real life problem-solving ability is a great issue for organisations.

Emotional, Expressive, Environmental and Cultural: Leaders have to maintain their personality in front of the team members of the organisation. I think sometimes the leaders must control their emotions to make any decisions on behalf of the organisation. The leaders have to be less expressive and have to react to people with little conviction. The leaders must notice the environment and the cultural section of the organisation (Huang et al. 2020).

The leaders with a lack of capability of the emotions, expressions, environmental causes and cultural causes can affect their personality leader. I think this incapability of the leaders can create a negative impact on the organisations. The leadership strategies are important for the business skills to capture the international market for the organizational goals and progress.

It is identified that the qualities are important facing the work progression in the world. The leaders of any organsiation face some issues regarding the mentioned topics such as “Effective communication and delegation, Decision making and problem-solving ability, issues in the effective teamwork and developing a leader’s professional identity in the organisation”.

Performance management

Reflection

According to Wendel et al. (2018), leaders are at the center of managing teamwork within an organization and for that reason, they must-have capabilities of increasing teamwork in the organization to increase its performance. In my opinion, leaders must have a listening power and influence strategy for increasing teamwork and catering to a collaborative work environment that increases organizational performance.

Analysis

Effective teamwork of leaders refers to maintaining all responsibilities carefully as this defines the responsiveness of leaders and team members motivated by that responsiveness. Hence, I also need to develop my knowledge about my responsibilities so that I can motivate other team members to increase their corresponding responsibilities in the workplace, and then I can increase the teamwork capabilities in the organization.

As per my observation, I am lacking in identifying my responsibilities which decreases my teamwork capabilities and I have to increase my responsiveness to influence others in the team. According to Kosharna et al. (2019), leaders must be accountable for their actions for keeping accountability for their performance in the organization as it is important for assessing the required improvement of their capabilities.

Issues

Lack of efficiency in a team can be mentioned as an issue for the organisations. These issues of the organisations are due to the lack of clarity, trust issues, lack of communications, excessive staff and interior competition.

Lack of Clarity: I think a leader has to clarify all the objectives and the goals of any organisation to the team members. The unclarity among the team and the team members can create any chaotic issues with the problems is a threat to the organisation.

Trust Issues: The team members must have proper trust among them. The lack of trust cannot provide a team to work improperly.

Lack of Communication: The lack of trust issues tends the entire scenario to the lack of communication skills. This lack of communication creates a gap between the team members and the team. I think this issue slows down the progress of the organisation.

Excessive Staff: Excessive amount of staff in any organisation with different opinions can create conflicts between the staff regarding teamwork.

Interior Competition: In my opinion, the positive competition between the staff of the organisation provides organisational growth, but negative competition can ruin the company’s future.

Action

Teamwork is important for improving the productivity of an organization and solving any conflict situation as leaders remove managerial burdens by using teamwork in the workplace. Teamwork enables the distribution of workload among different entities of a business and leaders are responsible for assigning different jobs as per their capabilities for this reason they must have to learn about teamwork (Zhelanova et al. 2020).

Hence, I choose this capability of leaders to be improved in my overall capabilities so that I can increase my productivity by using this teamwork.  As a leader, I can promote a positive work environment by increasing the flexibility of working with efficient teamwork. I have planned to influence the employees and the other staff of the organisation for improving the works and getting better outcomes on behalf of the organisation.

The leaders can provide some strategies for the betterment and the growth of the company. It will help the organisation for mitigating the issues faced by the organisation. The leaders can influence and also can help in maintaining the company’s culture for creating a better working atmosphere.

The image and the reputations of the leaders can provide a good perspective on the company’s purpose for developing an impressive image on behalf of the organisation. The leaders in the business segment can provide a right path and direction for improving a clear vision according to the company’s purpose.

Self-reflection model

Gibbs Reflection Model

Description: This assignment helped me in understanding the importance of business skills for the leaders in developing the organisations in the international market. The different types of skills of the leaders include “communication and delegation, decision making and problem-solving ability, effective teamwork and developing personal identity.”

Feelings: I feel this assignment is necessary for every student to understand the aspects of the leaders to improve and build their leadership qualities of the leaders. It enhances the good skills of the leaders to improve their personality and help the researcher in communicating with people.

Evaluation: The assignment on leadership helped me in evaluating my skills for researching any topic and it helped me in developing the leadership skills in my ability. The leaders easily stuck with a familiar pattern with the employees, which can lead the employees with dissatisfaction in some of the segments of the organisation.

The leader works with a good workflow, without setting expectations for the work. Sometimes, the expectations towards work provide motivation for the employees. Not providing enough feedback to employees can be an issue for the employees for the organisational purposes.

Analysis: The whole assignment on leadership helped me in analysing myself as well as the analysis of the business skills of the leaders. It helped me in increasing my analysis power. Decision making ability of the leaders for the growth of the employees of the organisation and the employees; provide new opportunities for the organisation’s growth purpose.

Communicating with various people of the organisation can provide new innovative ideas for the organisation’s purpose to grow more.

Monitoring the performance of the employees and the organisation helps to find the segments from the organisations, which are required to improve.

The leaders can improve the organisation culture by controlling and maintaining the cultures of the organisation.

Trusting the employees of the organisations, including the management can provide new opportunities to the organisation.

Conclusion: The conclusion of this model can be transferable or personalised and it helps to evaluate the situation and positive experience from the collected information (Venera-Mihaela and Mares, 2019). I can help my team members to develop their skills by handling the situation in a better way by focusing on my conclusion as it helps to identify my learning outcome for an assessment. Since, the leaders always think and hope for the betterment of the company’s purpose, the leaders have an issue regarding trusting people easily.

Action plan: Action plans develop some criteria required for future development of team members and require improvement of skills to deal with a particular situation (Toktanova et al. 2021). Hence, I can develop my future action plan by assessing this model and observing my overall performance for reviewing my progress report as the leader.

Since, the leaders of any organisation have to deal with the stakeholders regarding new deals, the conflicts or personal misunderstanding between them, can provide threats to the leaders. Sometimes lack of ability to take decisions can provide issues to the leaders. Larger amount of cancellations and the interruptions, mistrust in the organisation are also the threats for the leaders. Egoistic mindsets for the leaders are also threats for the leaders.

I had chosen the Gibbs reflection model because it helps in reflecting the whole process of the business skills with my perceptions, with some clear visions, such as “description of the topic, feeling during the research, evaluation, analysis, conclusions and action plans”.

Development of leadership aspects

The leadership approach implementation has highly required factors that highlight all aspects of the role of a leader that evaluates all attributes in the organization. They have required multiple factors implementation that judges thoroughly the factors of effective communication, decision making, and problem-solving capabilities (Pirtskhalaishvili et al. 2021).

Apart from that, team management potentiality is highly required for leaders where the growth of the organization has interconnected critically.

Moreover, professional identification has come out through the leadership capabilities that need to be implemented in the characteristic features as a portfolio for increasing the high chances of being a leader in the future (Pellegrini et al. 2020).  The previous questionnaires have derived the whole factors and importance of the features of being a leader. Therefore, the ultimate evidence has measured the

Being a manager of a coffee pod company, I have experienced conflicts and negotiations with the stakeholders which impact the business stability and progression level highly. The complication also affected my mental health due to the sensitive matters of business. The whole economical development has depended on the stakeholder’s position.

Therefore, they are highly required for developing a stakeholder engagement plan to defuse the complication. Eventually, the complication with the stakeholders has ruined the business progression level deeply (Košičiarová et al. 2021).  As a result, my leadership abilities are also lowered in return, the proper stakeholder engagement plan application is highly necessary to achieve the business’s successful growth.

Being a leader of Marshfield Bakery Pvt.Ltd, I faced supplier-related issues that lowered the potentiality of the supply chain management network. It is complicated for the business progression. As a result, the development of the company is slowing return, and the production system and performance efficiencies are lowered and affected the business population growth.

As per my experience, supplier management implementation is highly required to mitigate the issues otherwise; the raw material supplies factors are exhausted that significantly affects the business process.

Being a leader of Fourex Company, I have faced high employment conflicts due to the service provided by currencies. It is a responsible job role; therefore, sensible and efficient employees are required for this particular field. However, the internal complication among the workers damages the employee’s position in the company which is complicated for me to mitigate.

In contrast, there has been a communication gap that has exhausted the relationship between the employees and the management team of the company (Shapira-Lishchinsky, and Litchka, 2018).  I have personally experienced the critical complication to manage both sides. As a result, the factors of employee retention are ruined so that the employee’s plan and business law of labor legislation are highly required to follow properly.
