There are many followers of him that follow his actions and get inspired by their ideal to learn. The CEO Genome Project Model mentions the significant leadership abilities that are essential for a leader to become successful:

A supportive leadership: A good leader always focuses on the success of the team and pays less emphasis on his own success. He possesses abilities like honesty and transparency in work that helps him in influencing the performance of the team more effectively. He inspires team members to work collaboratively and in harmony. The influence of great leaders can motivate and inspire employees to work harder towards their duties and stay committed to their job (Mohiuddin, 2017). A great leader must be skilled and experienced. Sundar Pichai offers his employees opportunities to excel in their careers and lives. The policies are designed in such a way that the employees can maintain a healthy balance between their professional lives and their personal lives. He believes that a dedicated workforce is very beneficial for the company’s goals and mission.

Combination of a good speaker and a good listener: Having skills in listening and communicating, Sundar Pichai acquires an edge in the competitive market. He always tries to understand the opinions and ideas of the team by listening to them. He delivers his ideas and messages to his team such that there is no chance of miscommunication. His style of communicating his missions attracts the attention of the group (Puscas et. al. 2021). He ensures that the audience understands the true meaning of his delivered speech and explains to them the policies, methods, and goals of the company. He develops the understanding of the employee about how to establish the strategies given by the CEO. Besides this, he encourages the members of the team to work together towards achieving the goals of the company. He takes the suggestions and opinions of the employees very seriously to improve the organization. Bringing recommendations from the employees can be very beneficial for the growth of the organization. Communication is essential to build a strong bond between a leader and the employees on a broader level.

Associated Leader: A leader focuses on himself only after he emphasizes taking care of his team. He ensures that every employee feels comfortable and valued by offering them a positive and encouraging working environment. Sundar Pichai believes in providing a sense of belonging and trust to his employees. He emphasizes developing solid relationships and avoiding conflicts with his co-workers (Tewari and Kumar, 2019). The ethics and professionalism highest standard are reflected by the CMI code of conduct. It was cited in the case study that employees, the general public, leaders, and stakeholders suffered unfavourable outcomes due to various behaviour and abilities. The security of personal data and information is very important as Google was once punished for security issues (Jones et. al. 2017). An employee filed a lawsuit against the company, which created a sense of rage. The incident was about the concern for his personal data, which forced him to file a complaint against the company’s security and safety policies. The reputation and goodwill of the company were severely damaged in the corporate world, and the stakeholders took a backstep due to a lack of clarification from the CEO.

Lack of leadership and management skills: The CEO of Google was in default as he could have handled this situation with his leadership abilities. His managerial and leadership capacities were questioned as he could not take the problem of behavioural harassment and misconduct.

Failed to introduce new technologies: The ineffective decisions made by Sundar Pichai in the matter of implementation of new technologies prove as a major setback for the company. It is essential for Google to adapt to artificial intelligence to avoid huge losses. His project failure forced the stakeholders to doubt the abilities of Sundar Pichai.

Dissatisfaction and Faithless: Due to his ineffective decisions in recent times, the employees of Google showed displeasure with the findings of the CEO (Chinomona and Mofokeng, 2016). The displeasure of senior leaders made way for employees to express their displeasure. The trust of the employees and the stakeholders was shaken, and the situation became more complex when the CEO was not able to handle the situation. The behaviour of the workers involved seemed inadequate to both the stakeholders and employees, and they lost faith in the decisions made by the CEO.

Unacceptable behaviour: The performance of the workers and the unethical behaviour of the CEO has a link. The performance and work productivity went into a negative downfall due to the dissatisfaction of employees with the CEO (Kashmiri et. al. 2017). The destructive influence of the CEO’s behaviour led the employees to become dissatisfied and de-motivated to perform their duties and jobs in the company. This also affects the growth of the organization in the corporate market.

Personal Skills Appraisal

Ryff’s 6 factor model, which involves six different factors, helped me improve my skills. The main six factors of the model are:

Figure 3: Ryff’s 6 factor model

(Source: Leng, 2020)

  1. The factor of autonomy: I always had self-confidence in all decisions and strategies. Sometimes I feel hard while aligning and allocating my work with all the people of the group or the company. The company manager leading it should provide two types of work to the employees (Henn al. 2016). The first one should be completed immediately, and another one must be given for a prescribed period. Moreover, there must be creative and suitable activities for the capable persons in the company that can help them enhance their skills. With the help of self-analysis, I realized that my weak point is I’m not able to arrange and allot duties to different candidates according to their potential. Therefore, I try to improve my weak points and enhance skills so that waste of anything in the company can be entirely avoided. Arrangement and allotment of duties is the most significant task as it guarantees that the work with short time liability can be completed within the time limit. If needed, the workload can be shifted for tomorrow. Listing the best skills can help achieve the decided work within the prescribed time limit while entirely using the resources. It is also helpful for the employees while working on long-time projects and completing them before the target time. Enhancing skills and managing time can also be done using different resources. Delegation is a procedure allowing additional responsibilities to dissimilar persons available in the company. For example: when several duties are allotted to various company employees.
  2. Factor of environmental mastery: Most of the time, I felt that there was a need to manage some difficult situations around me and my surroundings. I feel adamant sometimes while working and accepting these situations. My captaincy skills are rigorously evaluated, and I cannot quickly get the changes. It is a huge problem that no human can easily make the transition; they try to avoid it. The daily and fast changes are like a bundle for me to perform my best leadership skills in the company. If I have to become a successful leader, I need to acknowledge these rapid changes and encourage others to accept them while working with adjustments. There is a need to grow this ability while making others comfortable with this capability (Montpetit and Tiberio, 2016). The second most important thing is that change can be readily accepted if other people know its advantages. When individuals work in a similar and unchanging environment, they find it tough to accept any change. Improvement of skills and acceptance of change can help the company make the adjustments while improving weaker sections of the company.
  3. Factor of personal growth: One of the most critical factors that can help in clearing the post of one’s own while obtaining and experiencing new happening aroid the worlds. Making a decision can also be enhanced by getting new experiences (de Freitas al. 2016). This evaluated that I’m an average decision maker using my personal experiences, skills, and assessments, which clarifies that I’m a moderate leader with many skills, capacities, and talents. Good leadership requires many features, qualities, methods, and traits. Moreover, being a good decision maker also plays a vital role in the company’s success. The company leader has to deal with uncountable changes in the business environment plus numerous judgments of different people. The effectiveness and efficiency of decisions taken by the company can help in measuring its capabilities and success. The company leader should build decision-making policies and strategies while being extra aware and caring because one poor decision can lead to enormous losses for the company. Thus, I will aim to strengthen my skills while improving my weaker points for making appropriate decisions. Sectioning different possible courses of action and performing them while achieving objectives, proper decision making can be defined as selecting options and managing their exception (Vittersø and Straume, 2020). Generating a successful decision-making process with predetermined goals can help create the best strategies and policies.
  4. Factor of positive relations with others: Sometimes, people around me find me optimistic about my healthy relationships. Generally, I have a feeling of fellowship around me with every individual. The employees’ emotional side helps the leader know their problems and issues personally and effectively to be solved quickly. Due to this, employees get encouraged and motivated (Kahn, 2017). In my self-analysis, sometimes I feel it is tough to understand the level of employee annoyance, grievances, feelings, and problems. Now I have started getting to know employees more deeply personally while interacting with them regularly. Self-examination and observation are different abilities that help solve employee problems quickly. Some factors bring goodness to individuals while dealing with different relationships among the staff. Compassion is the key to making good relations with others; it helps build strong interaction and encourage the employees to perform their job efficiently. It is helpful to create a social group and discuss various problems to find a different solution for each (Khan, 2019) as it is quite easy to build relations at any age while having feeling compassion. Lack of gentleness and empathy leads to violence and significant fighting issues among the superiors and subordina
  5. Factor of purpose in life: Generally, people around me have no target or goal, but I always have a precise aim for what I want to do and become in my life. Successful leaders always need to follow some rules, regulations, methods, duties, ethics, and morals so that the company can achieve its objectives timely (Lewis al. 2017). As a good leader, I perform my tasks well; sometimes, I take tests related to the abilities and character of the individual, which helps develop my better leadership skills. At the same time, I can handle all types of feedback from everyone, which is helpful in improving various weaker sections plus achieving the objectives. I took small feedback from my employees and staff so that all my soft and strengths related to leadership could be verified and improved if needed.
  6. Factor of self-acceptance: With the help of self-acceptance, I have k own myself entirely while self-analyzing everything. Moreover, a leader must have the ability to think purposefully to make the best decisions regarding all the factors of the company to achieve the organizational goals. I need to improve my skills to make good innovative decisions (Bingöl and Batik, 2019). Thus, after self-acceptance, I have overcome my weakness which I need to improve to create good leadership skills. It is all about accepting changes, working with different types of people, and managing them so that the organization’s goals can be adequately achieved.

Learning Methods

Tactical Areas of development Brief Objective Plan of action/ Strategies Timing
Acceptance of change The leader should follow the market craze about various things. They should encourage others to follow the current trend of the market to lead the competitive world. Before applying any change in the company, the leader must properly understand that particular matter. The difference depends on the observation skills and knowledge of the new inn return in the market. Thus, I focus on and document every chance to not miss any of them. Proper understanding and acceptance are needed before applying any change in the organization. Moreover, while making decisions regarding the application of data, there must be an adequate collection of data, analysis, and using it in different resources. After going through rapid changes, foreign policies, strategies, and many other things are settled in a company. One major issue is employees’ unwillingness to adjust to the changes. Explaining to employees the advantages and disadvantages can help them overcome their rigidity of accepting the change while adapting to it, as modifications are essential for the company’s success. Generally, a period of three months is required for anyone to adjust and accept the change occurring in the organization.
Effective decision making ability The positive result is wholly dependent on the excellent and efficient decisions taken in the decision-making process for achieving the organization’s goals. With time I have realized that I need to work more on my abilities and make fewer theoretical decisions. Enhancing skills and making more successful decisions can help plan perfect policies, strategies, and objectives for the company and collect data. Analyzing it, finding alternatives, and making decisions can help lead the organization in the competitive world. For example: Before making any decisions, I need to check my resources and abilities so that the best alternative can be selected. After making a decision, rechecking all the collected information is necessary so that if any change is needed, it can be done quickly. Probably a month is needed to enhance a practical decision-making ability.
Thinking Ability Development of adequate policies, strategies, morals, objectives, ethics, and many other things are needed to achieve organizational goals. It is a challenging task to enhance my skill during every other decision-making process. These abilities are also complex to make leadership successful in an organization. While working on my fundamental skills, I try to become an excellent listener to everyone around me. It helps understand various problems, issues, feedback, and grievances of the employees and the customer. It also improves relationships between people working around. While making a good plan can help a leader to be successful in adjusting their employees to the rapid change of the environment. Enhancing the ability to think can require four months for any individual.
Behavioral change that is emphatic Understanding the various grievances and issues of employees working in the organization can help to build healthy senior and junior relationships. Noticing the changes in employees’ behavior and accepting their problems while building good relations with them is a sign of a successful leader. I need to work on my ability to maintain healthy relationships with my workforce. It can take a single day to months to build relations. That’s why I have created four months for myself to cope with every employee working in the company. It is a significant need to solve issues of the employees so that they can feel encouraged and motivated while performing their job to their full potential. While being a leader, I try to create unity and groups among employees to achieve goals without facing any conflicts. The diversified nature of every individual needs to be molded in unity for better results. A time period of four months is needed.
Defining the prioritizing and delegating of work One of the most critical tasks is to assign duties and responsibilities to every employee according to their potential. It is also essential to complete the work within the pre-decided time limit. After undergoing Various feedback and 360-degree evaluation, I have come across that it is essential for distributing the work among all the employees to be completed within the time. For the smooth functioning of the company, every employee must work to their full potential. Two months are needed to perform this function.

A Brief Conclusion

The report conducts various skills and attributes that a successful leader needs to follow to lead their own company and employees. Many skills were observed in Sundar Pichai, who is a successful leader and currently playing a fantastic role in guiding his company. According to this report, he has impressive capabilities, methods, qualification, and other things which is helping him to make a healthy relationship with others while achieving organizational goals. He defines the role of the leader and how they are essential in approaching people and leading his company in the market. He also suggests following factors and models to encourage the people around them while solving their issues. Feedback is also an essential factor in improving the weaker section of the company and improving it for better results.
